October 26, 2013 HalloWonder Cruise

So currently we are booked in 3 cabins in Category 9D...only way we can afford to do a Disney Cruise this year and we don't want to wait another year (can ya blame us? LOL)!! One cabin has my parents plus one of our sons since you can only book 4 people in one cabin in this category, one has my sister, BIL and their 2 kids, and the last one has me, my husband, our other son and our baby.

So I have a question and would love opinions:

If both Category 9D and Category 11C are $699/pp, does it make sense to change 3 Category 9D's (deck 1) into 4 Category 11C's (Deck 2 forward under the lounges)?? My thinking is that if we get at least 2 cabins that are adjoining, the kids can all sleep in the "extra" one, and all of the adults would have their "own" (well, we would still have the baby with us) cabins. The 11C's wouldn't have any portholes though.

I'm just musing out loud, I guess!!

Thanks!
Hi Roz, I sailed on the Magic in April. I'm in serious need of another cruise and have my DH 98% that we need to be on this one so I'm checking out the meet thread. I'm pretty sure that you have to have an adult in every cabin, so your plan to put the kids in one may not work. If it were me I would upgrade. the split bathroom is really nice. Especially when your DH goes in there with a newspaper and you have to get your kids to bed. Worth every penny. --Anita Hoping to book this cruise tomorrow!! :beach:

We are officially booked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo!!!! :cool1:

Us too! Just did it today! I am so excited, I just bought my first fish extender, door magnet and signatures matte on Etsy! Oh, the planning is going to be SO fun!

Welcome aboard, Lyndsay and April!!!!! :cool1: I've updated the FE and ToT list with your info.

Anita, I hope you can join us! And I totally get what you mean about the split bathroom! Huge upside in so many ways! :)

I heard back from DCL Concierge Services regarding our private Mixology class. They had to contact the ship to get the info. Please let me know if you and those in your cruising party are interested as well as what type of mixology class. Here's DCL's email response:

We heard back from the ship that a day at sea usually works best for the classes for private mixology. They can accommodate up to about 40 people and the fee would be $15 per person charged to their room accounts onboard. Please let us know which day you prefer and we will ask the ship to confirm. Once we are closer to sailing we would need a list of guests and reservation numbers to provide the ship.

Yes, that is for sure true that each cabin needs to have an adult, but if the cabins were adjoined we would just leave the door open and have all the kids in the other room, which would be okay, no? :confused3 In any case, we have decided to just stay put, as we talked to a few friends who have sailed in standard insides. They mostly said that they never knew what it looked like outside so they would dress for sun and then get up to the outside decks and realize it was cool or rainy etc. This drove them crazy :crazy2: LOL. Also, someone mentioned that having no natural light in the room caused them to oversleep, or at least get a much slower start to their days, vs. kids seeing the morning light and getting amped for the day of fun and (hopefully) sun ahead. I can see that happening with my kids, as it is super hard to get them moving in the morning when it is still dark outside.

I absolutely appreciate the advice though, and if it weren't for the natural light, I too would have gone for the extra cabin and extra bathroom...hubby doesn't take a newspaper in but if he did, he would be very well informed of the day's news, that is for sure :rotfl2:

Welcome PinGirl! We're glad to have you aboard! How long have you been collecting pins? I didn't know such a thing existed until I started reading some of the posts over the last few months.

Hi CatDenver,

I think (Someone correct me if I'm wrong) Disney started the Pin Trading in 2000 - I have been collecting since then. I collect a little bit of everything - but I have a weakness for Stitch and Peter Pan Characters. DH likes Steamboat Willie/Mickey and Pinocchio characters.

This will be our second cruise and um...we have a third already booked and we're planning a 4th (I know - sigh...) - so is this where I join Disney Cruise-a-holics Anonymous?

:cool1:

Hi everyone! I did it! I booked the cruise!!! :cool1:  I know you know how excited I am. I'm gonna go find you on facebook. I would really like to join the FE, ToT and Mixology. Did I miss anything? Anita

Welcome! We did the same thing went on fantasy and are now hooked! I just hope the fantasy wasn't so fancy and new that we will be disappointed with the wonder, but it was such a great deal! I am a pin trader as well been doing it since I worked at Walt disney world in 2003 :) I mostly collect Cinderella what do you collect?

Thanks for the welcome! We wanted to try a different ship this time and yes - the deal is fantastic! I'm excited to be cruising again so soon. I think it will be fun! We were with family last time and this time it's just us two. I will see if I have any Cinderella and If the outlet pops up I will look for you! The last two times it showed up - they had everything else but pins. I collect a little of everything and Stitch and Peter Pan. :wave2:

We did the Wine Tasting last time and wondered about the Mixology. A Dis Mixology sounds like so much fun. Why is October so far away? We would be interested. :drinking1

My mom and I will on the cruise and would enjoy the mixology class. No kids with us so we probaly won't do trick or treating. I am not crafty at all, so would not know what to make for FE gifts.

Welcome aboard, dcassetta! I've got you on the mixology list. What are you and your mom's first names? So glad you'll be joining us! :thumbsup2
