Good Monday Morning everyone I'm now adding my 15yr old son to the roll call for this cruise. He'll be 17 by the time we cruise (WOW), and originally he didn't want to go. But I sat and had a chat with him and told him "I" WANT him to come! He smiled and said OK Teenagers!!!!!!

How awesome is that. Hopefully there will be another two or three kids his age that join this thread. Might keep him willing to cruise.

sadly, after finding out some information last night we will not be sailing with you.

We thought my DD woud be abe to go in the teen club, since she would still be in Highschool, But since she will have just turned 18 thats a not.

I was hoping she could do teen club and Palo, but no.

So back to the search page for us.

Crap. I hope you are successful in finding the right cruise for you. Hope to see you at time point in the future.

As far as why they changed the rule in the teen club. There was a group of disabled young adults cruising. One of them, a male, was attending the teen activities. His disability made it difficult for him to pick up on social cues and he became attracted to a younger female. This young girl felt threatened by his attempts to gain her attention. There were complaints made. It was not a good situation and there were many factors that created this situation. No one holds all the blame and I am sure there were other issues that caused DCL to restrict those who were of a legal age from the teen club. But I suspect that this situation had a part in bering to the forefront the liability that DCL held.

Ron, I told him that. I specifically asked him "Why don't you want to go" and he replied with "It's not that I don't WANT to go, it's more that I don't have a REASON to go". What the HECK does THAT mean. What? No reason to go?
So I told him things like "How about, it's a family vacation? Isn't that reason enough? Or what about "I" want you to come? Is that reason enough?
Sure it's your grade 11 year, but it's the fall, you can afford to miss school at that time of year, your teachers will support it. Is that a reason? Or How about Brendan will be there? Is THAT a Reason?"

Now, I don't know if he was smiling prior to that last reason, or if it was that last reason that made him smile, but at least by that point, I had him on board

Bump Bump It is Thursday and I want to know what special plans you may have for the weekend. We are sending one of our foster puppies off to his new furever home and are painting an office. That is on top of chasing the other 5 foster puppies and cleaning the house.

Yes we were on the hurricane Sandy cruise, well one of them.
All onboard were offered 25% off a future sailing, or WDW stay up to 7 days.
The letter only mentioned the delays. Said nothing about the rough seas.

The Fantasy is amazing. We all loved it. The decor is beautiful.

I was concerned about the crowds. It was no biggie except Pirate Night fireworks. It appeared everyone aboard was on decks 11, 12, and 13.
Of course we didn't search for the crowds either.

I wanted to book the Magic Double Dip, 10/20/13, fresh out of drydock, but the family said "No Way !!!."
Same date as our last, but one year later. Needless to say they won't be ever cruising on that date again. That's fine with me because I was thrilled booking the Fantasy again, and more days.

Cruise was great except the seas were rough the last couple days and the upper decks were closed. Oh, and no Castaway.
The last night at around 12:30am is when it got spooky. We encountered a few set of rogues for the next four hours. Arrived four or five hours late into PC.

Needless to say we need a redo.

Glad to report the hurricane sea trials went well. She is one tough lady.
I can report first hand, seaworthiness is something you can scratch off you worry list.

We were surprised how few of our cruise meet/Disers showed up for our onboard cruise meet. And how rare it was to run into any of them again onboard. Perhaps this is a sign how large this vessel is, or how well Disney disperses us.

DCL does a great job of dispersing the guess though out the ship. Also some groups a more active then others. I have been on the same cruise as Jennifer and Ron at least three times and they have done an awesome job of providing a direction and a togetherness for each DIS group. There a a few others on this cruise as well that have taken a role in creating activities for us to share in throughout the cruise. I believe you will find this group to be active and fun loving.

Welcome! I'm glad DCL didn't scare you guys away. As much as I love cruising, that may have had me second guessing (for about 2 minutes)... Anyway, I'm glad you've found us! This will be an awesome, hurricane-free cruise!

Good choice! We've sailed the Magic right out of drydock and it seems they are never really done with everything that was to be done at drydock. It usually takes them a couple of sailings to get everything back up to par. Our last time on the Magic was 2 full weeks post drydock and the chandelier was still coated with dust. It was still a great cruise, but I'd prefer the ship be nice and spiffy when I sail...

Thank you for the kind words Lois! We've been blessed to sail with a lot of great Dis-ers. Having an active group that actually gets together to do things during the cruise really enhances the experience IMHO... I'm hoping this will be the best group yet!

I hope so.

For me, the really bad seas were fun for say ... , an hour and a half, then I wanted to sleep. But every 30 minutes, bang, list, vibrate, that would wake the dead. DW and DD11 thought we were going to capsize.

DCL learned their lesson with Sandy IMO. They will stay away in the future.

I wanted to sail NCL Breakaway to BDA, but that discount .....
And DCL's aggressive hospitality is hard to match.
But 597 days to wait.
