October 25, 2014 Fantasy Western "The Not So Scary Halloween Cruise 2014" Part 2

I share some of the same concerns. I'm sure if washed delicate and line dried they may last.

I wish I could have screen printed then, but that was huge $$$ front and back, especially with all the colors on the back.

You being in OH, I'm confident the shipping would only add $10 - 12 total both ways for the whole order. You do the math for sizes. I need more orders.

I only have 2 orders for 8 shirts. :sad2:

:goodvibes

Was it posted over in the FB group?

My wardrobe is way too big also, but I can't resist shiny new stuff for vacations! I'm also a chronic overpacker :laundy: as I never know exactly what I want to wear. My DH hates flying whereas I'd prefer to fly & just get there, but he loves Disney too so if he agrees to the trip I'll agree to the drive. The benefit of driving is lots of suitcases....

I prefer flying too, I want to get to where I'm going and start my vacation!

We plan to dress up sometime on the cruise, I just assumed the Halloween party would be on Halloween, but that was my assumption with no basis in fact :rotfl2: I want to dress up for the costume party for sure. We're trying to figure out a costume. What are you dressing up as?

I have no idea yet. I had a great group costume idea, but now everyone has decided they want to do their own thing, so my costume would just look odd without the matching members. So now I'm back to square one.

Halloween, Oct 31st, will be Friday CC day. I find it unlikely with a port intensive itinerary folks will be dressing up for Halloween on Friday. Of course never underestimate the DCL sailors. I'm sure after all aboard from CC you will see some costumes, but nothing like Monday night, after Cozumel when most of the DCL Halloween activities are planned for.

Often due to baggage restrictions you will see the same costumes, pirate themed, repeated for Halloween.

Pirate night will be Wednesday evening after Falmouth.

We, the two adults, will not traveling with Halloween costumes. We will however, travel with our pirate gear. Which may, or may not, also be worn on Monday night.
I'm confident our kids will want to bring Halloween costumes. Of course that is undecided at this time.

HTH

Most Halloween activities will be Cozumel/Monday evening.
Pirate night is Falmouth/Wednesday night.
Our private ToT is 2nd and final Sea Day/Thursday ~10 - 11:30am~

That's what I figured. It'll be weird not celebrating Halloween on Halloween, but I'll be on a Disney cruise so I think I can manage! :thumbsup2

Bumb, we're on page 2 of group meets !

Where's everyone? Aka beatlesblonde & Bear :rotfl2:?

Sorry, I'm here, just busy. I had already ordered shirts from Vistaprint a long while back. Julie's came and it is huge, but oh well. She will wear it over leggings, so at least it is a good length. Nico's 14th Bday is tomorrow, so I will be out celebrating. I usually bring a cake to school, but since we are home, I offered to take him to Disney. He just wanted to stay home and go out for dinner. At least he picked Melting Pot :thumbsup2

We are beck into the swing of home schooling and running around, so my days are pretty full. The kids are having an amazing and fun year, so that is awesome. Life is always insane in the fall because all 3 kids have birthdays in 1 month. This vacation will come just in time..almost no excursions planned and I hope to catch Alexander and the Horrible Day and relax. Mostly, I hope to laugh :) That is always my favorite thing to do on the Disney cruises..just laugh

:bday: Nico! 3 birthdays in a month plus a cruise sounds like a lot of $$$! I e never been to the Melting Pot, we had one here for a short time, but it went out of business.

I'm just ready to relax & experience this 1st cruise. Thus far we have no excursions booked.

Are any of you buying the Shutters photo package for $295 :crazy2:? This price seems crazy :scared: to me, but I like getting the photo pass pics & not having to carry my camera all the time. My last 2 trips at WDW, I got the basic photo pass package that was $120 which was the CD only & I really debated on this price. So to think of paying almost 3x as much for a 7 day cruise seems nuts as the photo pass can be used for up to 14 days at WDW' this just seems expensive. I get that the photographers have to live on board, but they will have significantly less photographers on board than at WDW. To buy an individual 8x10 it's $20.95!!

Anyone get this in the past or plan for it this trip?

Will the photographers take pics with your camera? Are they grumpy to do this?

:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

We usually just buy the 10 or 20 print package.

It seems to change and be different ever time we board though.

There is a photo book that is a good deal too w/ 10 - 20 photos? ? ?
Maybe you can choose the # of photos for the album? ? ?

We would never spend 400 on photos. Of course we spend copious amounts elsewhere. :scared1:
We would never wait in the lines for all those photo ops.
However, if you do get photos at ever opportunity, the all-inclusive package can make sense.

ETA; "Will the photographers take pics with your camera? Are they grumpy to do this?"
The photographers will not, but the CM accompanying the photographer will. :thumbsup2
Most pax do this.

:goodvibes

I have gotten the photo package in the past, but I only get the CD. That way, if I need to add lipstick or fix something, I can. :lmao: I never buy the regular photos outright. I did not buy the full package on the Aug 30th, I grabbed 10 photo package on the CD which was $150.

We do wait in the lines (Especially the youngest who still loves seeing all the characters. ) I am back and forth this time on whether or not to get the entire package. If all goes well, we will have costumes, formal, semi formal, and pirate pictures of me and all the kids, so I might go ahead and grab the entire CD. I should have an idea by Tuesday or Wednesday night (on the ship), so I will make the decision then, before the crowds the final night. I refuse to go near Shutters the last night because it seems like 1/2 the ship is there.

Thank you for the b-day wishes :) I just dropped him off at his digital photography class. He mentioned in the car that he might prefer Ruth's Chris since Samantha will probably choose Melting Pot on her b-day. LOL! At least I like the food there as well. :thumbsup2

Halloween cruise shirts that are on the boat....

I cant copy picture :confused3 but here is the thread

That is a cute shirt. I am the mean mom that refuses to buy anything on the ship (or anywhere else) I always tell my kids the "gift" is the cruise or trip. We like to walk through the shops sometimes, but rarely buy anything ever. Every so often, we get an ornament, but nothing else. I print pics and give them albums of places we have been and usually the pictures are stocking or Easter gifts.

Bumb, we're on page 2 of group meets !

I'm here. I had a busy weekend, went a visited my ILs. We got a lot checked off the to-do list for the cruise though. We booked our hotel rooms for the night before the cruise (stay at Corronado Springs for the first time) and got our tickets for MNSSHP on the 24th. I think we also figured out our costumes. We have one group costume for MNSSHP, and then we'll either repeat those for HOTHS or we'll wear our pirate gear that we're bringing for pirate night. My FIL is obsessed with dressing as a pirate, I had no idea he had it in him!

Other than that, it's work, work, work. DH said I could break out the suitcases this weekend and start packing! :cool1: The weather around here has officially switched to cold and yucky, so our shorts and other warm weather gear isn't going to get worn again, so it can go ahead and go into the suitcases.

Thank you! I'm all about a good deal, so the thought of spending so much for 10-20 pics makes me think it's a better bargin in the end for the package & to take unlimited pics.

I have no problem waiting in lines for pics, we're adults though, so the waiting doesn't make us fussy. Our issue is that I'm the main picture taker in our extended family, so I'm rarely in pics. I like the idea of having a photographer to take nice pics of DH & I, it's just the crazy price:scared1:

I'm glad to hear that CMs will take pics with personal cameras.

Bump just meant by writing in the thread just brought it back to top of the list of cruise meets forum, it was buried in the 2nd page of the cruise line meets forum. Does that make sense?

$150 for 10 pics just seems nuts, now if I had 100-300 pics for the $295 that seems better, but just a lot of money!

Now if you wait to buy the cd package on the cruise you pay 15% more from what I've been reading, correct? The $295 is only preorders.

I've never been to a Ruth Chris either. We have a very high end steak house called Mancys here.

 I wanted to join in too

Our weather here is changing into fall, but imagine we're not too far apart as the IN border is not too far from Toledo.

I've never stayed at Coronado either! We honeymooned at CB, but have never been back there. We have no idea where we're staying per cruise night, I need to figure that out :scratchin. I've been looking up stuff in Coco Beach, but I said to DH that WDW isn't that far away & we know what to expect there. I also suggested if we do it to do MNSSHP or DTD as our TIW card doesn't expire until the end of nov, decisions, decisions :confused3. This would make for 1 expensive night though.

Where's everyone staying pre cruise?

Yeah, we were always planning on staying at WDW and doing Not So Scary on the 24th, but we were going to stay at a value like Pop since it's only for one night. Well we took our sweet time booking rooms and all the values are booked solid! So we had to jump up to a moderate, thank goodness we booked when the fall discount was still valid :goodvibes My MIL and FIL have only ever been to WDW once before for our wedding (unless you count my MIL's only other trip back in 1973!) and that was at Christmas time. So there still WDW newbs as far as we're concerned. Halloween is DH's absolute favorite time of year, and since this trip his for his birthday, we couldn't pass up doing Not So Scary.

You're so right, there's nothing much left at WDW! That's nuts! We went this same wk last yr to WDW for our BC stay & we were able to leave a day early, so on our drive down I called & made a reservation that day for ASMU! Then we went to BC the next day, so to have all values booked is crazy to me!

Any past cruisers do any jewelry shopping in these ports in the past? Cruise critic seems to have a lots of warning about jewlery being fakes. What kind of stuff did you find? Any black coral?
