October 25, 2014 Fantasy Western "The Not So Scary Halloween Cruise 2014" Part 2

I am interested in the late comers group if there is other interest. We are a family of 4 Two adults and two boys ages 14 and 11.

The FE will officially close on the paid in full date August 11th 2014. However we will run a late comers group should it be required.

IS there a group for the late comers (Donald)? I see they are splitting by floors.
I am hoping to PM minnie mum once I get to 10 posts.

Hi there and Welcome to all of the new cruisers!:)
Sorry, but I'm pretty sure that the FE's are closed; including the late group. They have started a "pixie dust" group, though. PM MinnieMadMum and she will give you the particulars. She's awesome that way! :)

Did anyone else book the Jeep Exploration excursion? When we got our cruise document book, we realized that from the end of the excursion to all board is only 30 minutes. We cancelled our excursion.

We are a family of 2 (15 yr girls) and 1 (11yr boy) on the 7th floor. We have our fish extender on order.

Looks like the FE group in closes, but I sent a personal message asking to join the pixie dust list. I plan on doing gifts for the pixie dust list and then some extras for random rooms. We loved doing FE on our last cruise.

We just found out today that we will be able to go on this cruise!!!!!!!! It'll be my husband and I (Jim and Beth). We're celebrating Jim's birthday a bit late (it's on the 20th) but definitely better late than never!

Welcome all newcomers. :cool1:

Anybody want T shirts?

:goodvibes

I'm freaking out about packing. I have never waited this long to get my act together. :confused3

We are currently ripping drywall out, adding insulation, running wires, resetting drywall, skimming and such in an area of our home. :scared1:

Not exactly what I planned for the month prior to sail. :lmao:

Yet, you gotta do what, you gotta do, :rotfl2:

Less than a month to sail. :hyper:

Ironically, I wish I had another/added week before sail. ::yes::

I'm not ready.

Yet boarding passes are issued. lol. So ...., I guess we will make it, regardless of the whatnot's at home.

:goodvibes

Will I need tuxedos for my son and me? I seem to remember reading somewhere that there's a formal night.

There is a formal night but tuxedos are optional.
Over the years DCL passengers seem to dress up less, as DCL has relaxed their dress code. Many don't even dress up for formal night any more. :worried:

We have only seen a few tuxes.

But don't let that stop you from dressing up. Many still do, just not as many these days, IMO.

Good Afternoon everyone!

I'll be cruising with you guys on the 25th with my sister and my parents, and this will be our first cruise!

I already know it'll be a ton of fun. Too bad we've missed all the FE and RM stuff. :<

Is anyone planning on dressing up for Halloween? I'm guessing that the official HOTHS events are going to take place on a different evening than the 31st as I can't see DCL pre-empting the "See Ya Real Soon" events that normally take place on the last evening. So is anyone planning on wearing their Halloween garb (costumes, etc.) on Halloween itself?

Sorry I've been MIA all wk, I've been sick & we hired someone new at work & I have been working extra days.

I haven't purchased anything and probably won't, my wardrobe is big enough as it is :lmao:

I'm not sure what I'm wearing for formal night yet, I have this one dress that I haven't worn for a while. It's black with red flowers and a semi-poufy skirt. I also have several long skirts and sparkly tops that I can mix and match. I'll probably make a more concrete decision in a few weeks (when I pull out the suitcases, from some reason DH doesn't think they should come out quite yet :rotfl: )

I love chatting anything and everything Disney, so bring it on! pirate:

My wardrobe is way too big also, but I can't resist shiny new stuff for vacations! I'm also a chronic overpacker :laundy: as I never know exactly what I want to wear. My DH hates flying whereas I'd prefer to fly & just get there, but he loves Disney too so if he agrees to the trip I'll agree to the drive. The benefit of driving is lots of suitcases....

I have everything laid out and have already packed it once...to be sure it fits:rotfl2: Then I unpacked it and have it laying in my closet-taunting me! My husband thinks I'm nuts. He'll probably pack the night before we fly out. I secretly hope that he forgets something, but I might need to be careful what I wish for. On our last cruise, we were leaving the house for the airport when he realized he had no drivers license. We had to make a pit stop at the local DMV...and we all know how quickly that goes:furious: Needless to say, started our vacation off on a stressful note!

I'm so jealous of your prepacking!

There was some article of clothing that my DH wanted to pack I can't remember what it was, but we get on vacation & he asks me where it was, I say I don't know :confused3 you wanted to pack it, remember? Yeah he forgot...

We're we're on another vacation on a beach, I helped him put sunscreen on his back & said do you want me to put it on your front? Oh no, he'd do it himself. Later in the day you could totally see the areas he forgot as he had an awful splotchy sun burn. He was miserable when we drove home, but his whole back area was perfect for driving!

Was it I who only wanted T shirts? :rotfl2:

No one else is interested? ? ?

:goodvibes

My fear is that this tshirt is going to become $50 by the time it's shipped 2x & I buy an extended size. Also since its not a screen print, will it just wash off in the laundry like an iron on? Do you have some orders?

this looks like a fun thing to do.

We dressed up last year for MNSSHP on Halloween & a blast. I think the costume party sounds fun!

We just found out today that we will be able to go on this cruise!!!!!!!! It'll be my husband and I (Jim and Beth). We're celebrating Jim's birthday a bit late (it's on the 20th) but definitely better late than never!

Welcome aboard! Is this your 1st cruise?

We're dressing up, I have a formal dress, but DH is wearing a suit & tie, no tuxedo

We plan to dress up sometime on the cruise, I just assumed the Halloween party would be on Halloween, but that was my assumption with no basis in fact :rotfl2: I want to dress up for the costume party for sure. We're trying to figure out a costume. What are you dressing up as?

Halloween, Oct 31st, will be Friday CC day. I find it unlikely with a port intensive itinerary folks will be dressing up for Halloween on Friday. Of course never underestimate the DCL sailors. I'm sure after all aboard from CC you will see some costumes, but nothing like Monday night, after Cozumel when most of the DCL Halloween activities are planned for.

Often due to baggage restrictions you will see the same costumes, pirate themed, repeated for Halloween.

Pirate night will be Wednesday evening after Falmouth.

We, the two adults, will not traveling with Halloween costumes. We will however, travel with our pirate gear. Which may, or may not, also be worn on Monday night.
I'm confident our kids will want to bring Halloween costumes. Of course that is undecided at this time.

HTH

Most Halloween activities will be Cozumel/Monday evening.
Pirate night is Falmouth/Wednesday night.
Our private ToT is 2nd and final Sea Day/Thursday ~10 - 11:30am~

I share some of the same concerns. I'm sure if washed delicate and line dried they may last.

I wish I could have screen printed then, but that was huge $$$ front and back, especially with all the colors on the back.

You being in OH, I'm confident the shipping would only add $10 - 12 total both ways for the whole order. You do the math for sizes. I need more orders.

I only have 2 orders for 8 shirts. :sad2:

Are any of you buying the Shutters photo package for $295 :crazy2:? This price seems crazy :scared: to me, but I like getting the photo pass pics & not having to carry my camera all the time. My last 2 trips at WDW, I got the basic photo pass package that was $120 which was the CD only & I really debated on this price. So to think of paying almost 3x as much for a 7 day cruise seems nuts as the photo pass can be used for up to 14 days at WDW' this just seems expensive. I get that the photographers have to live on board, but they will have significantly less photographers on board than at WDW. To buy an individual 8x10 it's $20.95!!

Anyone get this in the past or plan for it this trip?

Will the photographers take pics with your camera? Are they grumpy to do this?
