Thanks for posting the link - but I am really brainless tonight! Just realized that it was YOUR trip report I'd seen in YOUR signature that I was trying to find - not noticing the link underneath! So just clicked on that, and will read that one next. Dizzi's was great - I think she earned her name from more than just "Disney" ;) ! I really hope you feel better on our cruise! And I can't believe you guys missed Castaway Cay - but hopefully the two stops we make (positive thinking here!) will help make up for it.

Must go read your report. This board and planning/researching the cruise is my stress management tool, and I had a rotten day at work - so losing myself in all your pictures and trip reports.

289 MORE SLEEPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3: :cool1:  :dance3: :cool1:

Me again! Loved your trip report Pam, and the pictures. Your daughter is beautiful! My best friend also had fertility issues, and needed to go on hormone injections in order to conceive, so I know what a struggle that can be. And hope your doing well with your weight loss goals (hard to stick to anything with Christmas!) - but the important thing is that you're healthier and more active!

Quick question - neither your nor Dizzi's tr mentioned Halloween night itself on the cruise. And it looks like you did the scavenger hunt/t or t earlier in the week? What happened Halloween night?

Valerie

Arlene, There is a link to mine in my signature, I am working on a project for work right now and as soon as I finish up I will go back and find the other ones for ya!!

Valerie They had a very confusing T and T on halloween and then a very short "party" at the goofy pool, it was right in the middle of the day when people were beginning to dress for early dinner and really wasn't worth the full effort...OF course this is MY OPINION only!! I heard the adult party at night was a BLAST though!!

ENJOY have a great evening
Pam

I wish I had the money to go with you all by my self. Maybe Ill come into a windfall:thumbsup2 pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Sorry I have been quieter here than my last cruise meet. I have had a chance to read the last pages and --
~Glad to hear of everyone's safety in missing the accident.
~I did read Melanie's TR (can't remember her DIS name) It was a great report! It bolstered my courage(DH's too) for Halloween costumes. i am going to take the time and read some others.
~I will probably only do tea length for my formal dress.

Alot has been going on here this week. A coworker's daughter died tragically this week. I also had the opportunity to work with her on occasion. She was near my age with children ages 12 and 16. Made me hold the family and friends closer. So :grouphug: to you too!

It has been awhile since I have posted so welcome to all the "new comers". Although it sounds like most of you are veterans to the Disney trips. This will be our 2nd cruise on Disney and the last time we drove to Port Canaveral. If we decide to fly into Orlando (which is the cheapist option), what are our options in getting to Port Canaveral and how easy/hard are the different alternatives?

Buy a transfer from Disney Cruise for a family of four? If so, do they only drop off at their hotels? Is this cost effective? :confused3

Rent a car from the airport one way to Port Canaveral and then rent a car when we get back from the cruise to get back to the airport? If so, how easy is it to get a rental car from the terminal?

Thanks for you help guys!

My New Years resolutions are to :
1. Get answers to the unknowns of this cruise
2. Organize/ sort closets, drawers, and paperwork:yay:
3. Lose weight and adopt a more healthy lifestyle:thumbsup2

At least you guys can help with 2 of the 3 unless someone wants to come to Ohio to be my personal organizer!

Hi Midwest Cruiser,

I am also on my second cruise and debating the same transportation questions. There is a thread with some resources but maybe some experts can give us their advice.

As far as your organizational needs---I am a nurse by trade but my dream job is to be a professional organizer! How far are you from the Chicago area?
Be warned I have OCD and control issues. What I say goes!:lmao:

I know this trip is months aways but I feel so unprepared. I hardly think about it and then when I do I get a little worried about not knowing how many days we will be staying before or after in WDW or which resort! We are DVC members but we are out of points so I have been stalling I think.

My youngest is turning 2 next month and he will be 4 months shy of 3 on the trip. I am praying I can get him potty trained so at least there will be a chance he can go to the big kids area with his sisters. 9 hours in Flounders will not be enough for a 7 day cruise. It wasn't really enough on our last one and it was only a 4 day!

Midwest Cruisers - As far as transportation goes I would look into alternatives, although WDW transportation is good too.

We used Happy Limo last April and they came right on time and made a stop at the grocery store. It wasn't expensive and cheaper than WDW transportation. We got to choose how early when we wanted to be picked up and I liked not having to make more stops at other hotels to pick up more people.

We did not use Happy Limo on the way back though. We rented from Budget. We had a long time before our flight home so we got a minivan for the day and visited Magic Kingdom. We are AP holders so it was pretty cheap to do. Renting from Budget at Port was very easy and it was pretty close.

We will be using Happy Limo again on this cruise.

Edited: I just looked up my spreadsheet from April. I believe for a family of 4 WDW will cost you $276 roundtrip. For Happy Limo round trip (10 pass. van last April) was $276 (price includes 20% tip). I am guessing you guys will not need a van so your price should be less. But even if its equal I would much rather travel with just my family and have more control of the times.

We used Happy a few times, and then got cheaper rates with Carrier through our TA. I think this year, we'll spend Friday night at the MCO Hyatt, and get a towncar service to PC on Saturday. Its been nice to have a car to ourselves: grocery stop, no stops at other resorts (when we stayed at BC, and used Disney, it was always the last stop on the route), no rental car issues. In 2007, some from the Moonie group went in together for transfers, spreading the cost out over several families.

Pam-glad all are ok. I was thinking about you at work last night when someone mentioned what happened. (had a couple of late evenings this week)

Sean

Just think, in a few months, we'll be here:

PADisney - We stayed at MCO Hyatt twice. Once when we had to leave WDW a day earlier than our plane and again in April for our Cruise.

Both times it has been nice and very conveinent. If we don't go to WDW before our Cruise we will stay at the Hyatt again, that Friday as well. You can't beat getting off the plane and going right to your room.

Here's our decorated door, and fish extender (made by DW):

Hi everyone
We have just got over a really bad storm here with winds up to 105 mph recorded , had no power but were lucky to be one of the first switched back on again after 6 hours lots of homes had no power untill the following evening
Thank god there was no damnage , we were worried about the trampole going for a trip but it stayed in place
it always seems worst in the middle of the night

we took DCL tranport the last time from AKL and back to SSR , loved the video on the bus
had a wait of nearly 20 minutes on the way back at the port
The first time we had a hired car and just parked it at the port as it was only a 3 day cruise it was as cheap to do this
we have booked with DCL again this time

How are the restaurants there? Do they have good views? To check in, do you just get on the elevator by security and go up to the next level?
