Wishing all our US Dis cruisers a happy labor day - we do not have anything like this in the UK. Do you have any special traditions for this holiday, or is it just a day off from work.

No traditions here. We used to go to my parents and chop wood but now my mom had a gas fireplace put in. Since my dad passed, my mom got a place on a lake so she spends her free time there. I usually work but this year the hospital has low census so maybe I will be off. Today they told me to stay home. Oh the sacrifice:banana: I work every weekend so it is nice once in a while to be home(at least until I get my check).
Hope everyone enjoys their holiday. And keep my brother in your prayers. He is over in Iraq.

Happy labor day to everyone.
Here is our countdown

MARCH ON!

I hope everyone is having a good labor day.
Don't forget to watch Fat March. Tonight on ABC @9/8C

Can I just say that I am sooooo impressed by you guys, Michael! You guys motivate me every time I see you! I hope Matt is doing okay now and wonder if he's had his surgery. Can't wait to see next week! Way to go Guys!

Side note: my DD1 is starting kindergarten tomorrow morning. I'm so excited for her but a bit nervous for her too. She rides the bus to school and has only ever sat on the school bus in the parking lot, not while it's moving. I'm trying not to be emotional for her, she is very independent, but she is still my baby! Just keep your fingers crossed for her this week!

suxiemva,
I know how hard it is to not let the little one's know how we are feeling...I had a really hard time with my emotions when my kids we little and forget the 1st school bus ride(LOL) but I can tell you we all made it through:) .I hope she has a wonderful 1st day at school.
Michael,
what a show last night. I felt so bad for Matt and Anthony. But I have to say I do understand why loralie made the choice.Do you think Anthony would have been able to finish? What was the deal with the whole kiss thing?

Imagine the surprise of DW and I, when Matt went to the Emergency Department, at the hospital where I work. Sorry that he had to visit us that way. We hope his knee is doing better.

Hi everyone! And hey PADisneyCouple, looks like we'll be cruising together again :lmao:

DH and I are on the Oct 27th Eastern next month, but we are strongly considering doing this cruise next October (it will be our 30th wedding anniversary then! ), along with hubby's mom, sister, and her husband! A family cruise for our anniversary -- love it!

Now, it's not booked yet, but we are just about sure we're going to do it :cool1:

It will be my SIL's first cruise, ditto for her hubby. My MIL was on the Alaskan cruise in June of this year, which was her first cruise. And our upcoming Eastern is DH's first cruise! :)

So, I'll be popping by the next couple of months, and I'll let everyone know if and when we actually book!!!

Thanks, Michelle! She had a great day and fell into bed tonight with no argument! Is school all it took for that?!?! LOL! She's excited and can't wait to go back tomorrow.

Oh, and you can just call me Suzie!

Hi fellow cruisers!

Just thought it would be good to point out that next month we can say we only have 12 months to go!!!!

Suzie
It's amazing how school exhusts them! When mine were littler I always had trouble that they wanted to sleep when they came home and if they even just took a 30 min snooz it would really mess up bed time. Now my almost 12 year old is home schooled an wants to be a night owl. My nine year old has a long bus ride and falls asleep coming and going school really knocks her out.
Totallyangelic
I am doing the 12 month dance with you:banana:   . We were just saying how quick time is going. I better start sending some $ towards it!!!!
Padisney couple
That was wierd running into to Matt in the ER.I really felt bad for him.

Didn't really run into him. Just saw an article about Fat March in our paper that day, and finally remembered to watch the show. We didn't know that he'd been there until we saw it on the show. DW commented how well the Hospital kept it a secret/our privacy policies. Quite the surprise!

Hi everyone!
Not been around for a while...Wow time is passing very fast....Soon be only a year away!!:cool1:
Took a look at our reservation on DCL site a few days ago & our room's been allocated already...We'd booked a GTY so amazed they've given us it so early, got what we booked too, so no free upgrade but we're Deck 7 which I'v read is a great deck to be on, so we are happy!!
Anyone else booked GTY?
Last cruise we booked cat 12 but got upgraded to a 10, maybe that was 'cos it was our 1st cruise?
At the end of the day though, it doesnt matter where the room is...It's just great to be going!:thumbsup2

Hi all! It has been a while since I have been on here too. Been busy doing Disney trips and have not had time to think about the cruise. :sad1:

Anyway, school is back in and summer break is over so I finally have time to catch up with everything and join this great group of chatting double dippers. We are really looking forward to this cruise since we had a great time on the other ones and this time our little one will be 3 and able to go in the club.:cool1:

Hey bigben, I hope you don't mind but can I add the weekend count to your countdown? It's a smaller number so it looks better in my mind :thumbsup2 -It is only 59 weekends until our sail date. Not long at all....

Ulittletinker - I sent you a PM about the website and kids area. Have a great night everyone!

Stewy,
No Worries, go right ahead. Anything to make it look shorter than it is.
March On

Hey Cheryl...Our lo will be 3 next cruise too so we are hoping for some adult time whilst he goes to club(IF he goes & stays!!);)
Last trip he was only 20 months & lasted all of 20 minutes in Flounders!:sad1:

Our DS was 17 months when we cruised in December. It was great for us, he ate his dinner (we always have late seating) and then one of us would run him down to Flounders and we were able to have dinner in peace since his older brother could not be dragged away from the club (darn, we really missed him at dinner ;) ). You forget how nice it is to have a hot meal.:rotfl: The only time we were called last time was at the dessert buffet. Thankfully I already had tried a few things and did not really need any more. :teeth:

My DH is a SAHD so we are hedging our bets this time. Thankfully, our LO is almost potty trained and to make sure he likes playing with other kids, we take him to our local Y while we work out and our DS9 goes to swim practice. We usually leave him for 2 - 2 1/2 hours and he does pretty well. The nice thing about it is it's usually different kids each time. As we get closer to cruise time, we will leave him a little longer. Who knows, maybe it will help. :confused3

Sally - we have booked category 12 GTY aswell - mainly because we have 4 kids and need 2 staterooms. I also don't plan to spend much time in the room, and as all the rooms look lovely I didn't mind going for the cheaper option. It certainly looks a lot nicer than my last room on a cruise ship (crew accomodation on the Royal Princess :scared1: !).

Where and how do you find out your room allocation?

Stewy - I like the idea of 59 weekends - it sounds a lot better than the number of days we have to go!

I think the time is going really slowly - once we get to the actual "1 year to go" date I hope to start planning properly to help get me through the long dark winter ahead.
