LovableGluttons, lucky you just finishing up a cruise and going again! Glad to hear you had a good first cruise. You'll love the longer cruise and 2x at CC :dance3: Can't wait.......

Dawn, we went to Hawaii for the first time last Fall. Until we went to Castaway Cay, we were certain no place could compare to that paradise.

Now we know better! DH and I want one dip at Castaway Cay to be a family one and we'll check the kiddos into Kids Club activities and enjoy Serentiy Bay (and maybe a massage!!??!!!) on the other day.

Anyone planning any cool excursions??

Martini, tequila tastings? Anything?

We did Palo for dinner this last time, I wanna try brunch!

I'm definitely planning on sneaking in another cruise between now and the Oct 2008 cruise too once we move to Florida.

We're still in post Disney Cruise depression. We sailed two weeks ago tomorrow. My eyes tear up just thinking about it.:sad2: :sad1:

Oops! This thread just hit triple digits.

I should warn you all now, I'm chatty! LOL

But my name's not Cathy!

Uh oh! I post and this thread comes to a screeching halt!

I feel that cha cha slide coming on! Look out!

LovableGluttons: I don't think the thread has come to a screeching halt.....it is more of a slow creep. But if you prefer to believe you have the power to stop an entire thread, you go ahead

We haven't thought much about excursions. This trip, I want to spend as much time as possible doing nothing. DH wants to do some sort of dune buggy thing or something, though I am not entirely convinced that I want to do it. I would like to take part in more activities on the ship, seems everything I am interested in always overlaps and then I have to make choices.

We did parasail on CC, that was cool, except, as I was up in the air, there were "technical difficulties" and we had to turn around to get another boat.

As for post cruise depression..........its been five months and I am still suffering The only cure: plan another cruise.

I think we may go on a 4 day between now and Oct 2008. DH announced this morning that he didn't think he could wait 19 months for another cruise. So much for Mr "I don't think I'll like being trapped on a cruise ship".

We rode bikes on CC and loved it.

I think the kids want to do a dolphin encounter of some kind.

The bike ride is something I have not done but def want to do (19 long months from now). Your DH sounds like me. The first cruise we did was a 3 night because I thought I would feel "trapped" on a ship, now look at me! You are lucky to be able to squeeze in another trip before the DD. We did the dolphin encounter in Nassau; it was great, very memorable. Don't know how the other places compare, but it is a worthwhile experience. Well, so much for a break.....back to the regularly scheduled snow shoveling :sad2:

I havn't check in for a while so here is our countdown.

Time until Saturday, October 25, 2008 (Chicago time)
586 days
14074 hours
844440 minutes
50666404 seconds

Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
DON'T IT.

Hey Bigben, Thanks for the countdown. How about breaking it down to weekends to? Then I wouldn't have to keep trying to count down how many more shifts I have to work til the cruise. I work every weekend at the hospital 11a-11:30p and a 7p-7:30a shift during the week. I just can't wait for the wonderful warm weather to happen. I worked a double last night so I got off at 4 am and it was warmer than when I went in. Hope the temp keeps going up.

Oh my gosh, I am so excited! I have been lurking on these boards since discovering them before our April 29, 2006 trip, and just registered tonight so I can start posting on this thread. We are also booked on the Oct 25, '08 cruise - there will be me (Valerie), DH (Brian) and two DS's - ages 11 and 9. We live in Newfoundland, the most easterly province in Canada.

The kids don't know we've booked another cruise - it's too far away to listen to "How many more sleeps, Mom?". Already trying to figure out how to tell them, though. Last year they got a letter in the mail from "Mickey" spilling the beans about the secret trip their parents had planned - they were excited enough then, can't imagine what it will be like this time when they know more of what to expect!

As for you guys who are talking about the cold and snow, we are in the process of a snow storm that is supposed to dump 20 to 30 cm on us - that's about 8 to 12 inches. That's on top of the 45 cm (18 inches) we had between Sunday and Tuesday. Most basement apartment doors in the area, including the one to the one in our house, were completely covered in on Tuesday. Dreaming of two stops on Cataway Cay is helping deal with the snow!

Looking forward to actually posting on these threads, as opposed to just reading them. And certainly looking forward to our 2nd Disney Cruise!

Valerie

Hi Valerie! My DS will be 11 and my DD will turn 9 on the cruise!!

I'm so sorry about the snow. We're in Montana, I know the feeling.:scared1:

Great to see some other Canadians on the trip! We actually met other Newfoundlanders on our last Disney Cruise - there were actually 4 families travelling separately. One reason I stopped lurking was to develop connections for us and the kids before we go - we had commented the last time on how it would have been great to know the families ahead of time. Not to mention all the positive things you can read here about the Dis community!

As for the snow, snowing here again tonight. But at least the stuff we have is finally starting to melt. Reading about excursions and martini tastings is certainly helping to cope with the cold! Although it's still seems like a long ways away, it's also already been over a month since we booked. Time will fly!

Valerie

Hello everybody, Our family will be joining you on this cruise.
Myself Michelle, DH Vito, DS Vito Jr (13) and DD Angelina (10). This will be our 3rd cruise and the second time doing on a "double Dip". Last time we cruised with Woody73 and dizney-cruiser( Hi Guys:wave2:).Janice could you please add us to your list.
Let the planning begin:banana:  :yay: :cool1:

Greetings Cruisers

We booked our FIRST Disney cruise last night. Our son & DDL have gone on several & talked us into making it a family cruise in 2008. (Didn't have to do much arm twisting, after all, it's Disney:thumbsup2 )

We are Julie, hubby Paul & my Mom Cleo. Our grandaughter Angelina (will be 9) is a Disney cruise veteran. Her parents DS Sean & his DW Mariana tell us she can't wait to show us around "her" ship. The only other time we cruised was in 1987. Yes, we are a bit older than the rest of you youngsters! Another indication of our age...we also will be celebrating our anniversary on Oct. 25. Forty Years!

Looking forward to learning all the tips & tricks all you veterans have to share with us first timers.

Our family will be joining you all on the Halloween 2008 western iten. This will be my family's second disney cruise, third cruise ever. We went Oct. 2006 for the Halloween eastern iten cruise. It was extremely magical and we did not want to leave. The Cruise Lines trick or treating is pretty nuts so it is much better to form other trick or treating plans before you go. One way to set it up is through a forum like this. We were unaware of this last time.

With the double dip this time, it should be well worth the $$$. In 2006, we had 3 ports of call including CC, the Halloween events, the pirate party, and The Santa Claus 3 premered on the ship on our last day.

We will be traveling with DF, DM, DS(11), and DD(7.)

We are staying in a cat 6 room 6068. Last time we had an oceanview on deck 2, it was nice but we thought that we would try the veranda this time.

LOL, Soccer Family from STL

You bet I'll add you!! And maybe now that you are joining us - Peggy will get jealous and join us too!! :thumbsup2

Just want to add info for the roll call. We are from California. DS sean & his DW Mariana will be in Cat 10 with Angelina & we (Julie, Paul, & Cleo) splurged on a veranda room Cat 6.

What's the Martini tasting? Do they do a wine tasting? THAT would be my kind of activity! After all, I'm from California.

And another question, what's the deal at Castaway Cay? DS is ecstatic about going twice so it must really be great. What sort of activities can you do there?

WOW it's very cool to be sailing with another Angelina. My DD will be 11 at the time of sailing.Congrats on the Anniversary.. 40 years is really something to celebrate:love:

OOohhh how many DISers are we up to now?

I wore lime green, a Bagallini, and even had a LGMHPC attached. I focked someone who I thought might be a DISer, but instead I think I scared them.

OK, I'm a bit scary anyway (at least DH says so)
