Has anyone looked at any of the excursions yet?

Needing a break from (still) chipping ice, I tried to look in our Passporter and on the DCL site. I couldn't find anything about Costa Maya in either place. Even our Passporter from last year didn't have anything that I saw. Don't recall discussing Cozumel plans with DW. But CC...for some reason, the stingray encounter is sounding interesting. I hadn't given it much thought before. We parasailed at CR last fall, and loved it, so you might consider it. We'd like to do the kayak tour on one of the CC stops.

Here's some costa maya info I found on the web:

http://www.puertocostamaya.com/
http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/cr7-port-CostaMaya.cfm

The second link has the excursions for Costa Maya.
My nephews will be 7, 7 & 4 ...not sure if we will all be doing excursions or not. I've been to Cozumel twice, and never set foot on the island. I may be wrong, but there is not really anything there that interests me. We take that as our time to have the ship to ourselves! We did do Tulum once from Playa del Carmen, which was nice. Maybe well do some other ruins. We're on this trip specifically for the double beach days at CC, so beach excursions are out.

We want to do some ruin excersion as well. It's the one thing my ds really wants to do on this cruise. We haven't decided on which excursion or what port yet, just want to do a little more research.

Oh my gosh, I am so excited! I have been lurking on these boards since discovering them before our April 29, 2006 trip, and just registered tonight so I can start posting on this thread. We are also booked on the Oct 25, '08 cruise - there will be me (Valerie), DH (Brian) and two DS's - ages 11 and 9. We live in Newfoundland, the most easterly province in Canada.

The kids don't know we've booked another cruise - it's too far away to listen to "How many more sleeps, Mom?". Already trying to figure out how to tell them, though. Last year they got a letter in the mail from "Mickey" spilling the beans about the secret trip their parents had planned - they were excited enough then, can't imagine what it will be like this time when they know more of what to expect!

As for you guys who are talking about the cold and snow, we are in the process of a snow storm that is supposed to dump 20 to 30 cm on us - that's about 8 to 12 inches. That's on top of the 45 cm (18 inches) we had between Sunday and Tuesday. Most basement apartment doors in the area, including the one to the one in our house, were completely covered in on Tuesday. Dreaming of two stops on Cataway Cay is helping deal with the snow!

Looking forward to actually posting on these threads, as opposed to just reading them. And certainly looking forward to our 2nd Disney Cruise!

Valerie

Wow Nefie,I know what you mean. Just thinking of laying on the beach is the only thing getting me through this snow too.The weatherman just got through with his forecast. Snow, freezing rain, rain and back to snow. That is for this weekend. Yuck. Makes me glad I work weekends.Hope the weather gets better by thursday. I am taking the train to chicago with my mom for a girls night out. We have theater tickets and want to do some shopping.

We want to do the ruin excursion too. Last year we did the western and did the semi-submersible. It was interesting but this time I want to see more of the countryside. We usually just go into town for a while, wander around and buy me a ring. Think I will skip the jewlery this time:cutie:

I know I'm going to do the fishinng again on CC. I want to catch another shark:fish: . I think we'll do one of the ruins at cozomel. We like beadering with the local in Costa Maya.

Hi everyone,
Still no snow here in the UK...just plenty of wind & rain as usual!!
Bigben...we read your last trip report & DH (ex Royal Navy & can't wait to take to the high seas again for the first time in 12 years!!) quite likes the look of the CC fishing trip as well. Do they just run the one trip per day & how many guests do they take out?? Personally I'll just spend the day lazing on the beach :beach: or maybe hire a bike if it's not too hot. We all fancy doing one of the 'ruins' tours from Costa Maya, though. Just curious.......what's 'beadering'?

Helen- beadering is my way of spelling bardering i get brain cramps from time to time.

About the fishing there were 4 people fishing on our boat. I know that they go out twice a day and i think that they have 2 boats that take you out fishing. you go out for roughly 4 hrs. we hit 3 different spots. one of them we caught nothing. the other 2 we caught fish. all in all we had a good time fishing.
