October 25, 2008 Halloween on the High Seas (2)

QOTD: DNiece Karen (15) and I are booked for the WB Transatlantic Repo in 2010.

I'm booked for the WB Transatlantic too!

Us too! Us too! Ohhh.... so much fun.... maybe we can start another (additonal) thread "HOTHS cruisers take over the Repo!"

To Laurel, Todd and the girls, thanks for sharing your family with us at dinner. I will always remember spoons night. I have to practice it more that's for sure to keep up with you guys. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Our table was always next to yours (as you know) so I was watching you guys with the spoons. I kept saying, "look at them" to Nelson! He just kept laughing... At one point a young girl got up from her seat and walked all the way around the table without that darn spoon falling off! I could not believe it!

Anyone else have a desire to put an FE up outisde their door at home? ;)

We put ours up in our room at Old Key West when we checking in...

...all 800+ pics :rolleyes1 we took :scared1: ....

HA! Beat you! I have 1200+ pictures (and I don't have children)! hehehehe :lmao:

Just loaded them onto the puter, will organize them, and put some on photobucket. Will let you all know when that is done!

Jenn - we would have had more, but Brian usually had the camera! The conversation usually went like this..."Brian, take a picture of that.....Brian, did you get a picture?...Brian, give me the camera!" :rotfl2:

Hoping to get into chat :surfweb: tonight - have to work, but should be home early enough to get in. And no work tomorrow - Remembrance Day here, so can even stay up late (said like someone who went to bed early on chat nights because had to work in morning...insert snort of disbelief here! :rolleyes1 ) :rotfl: .

Valerie

Sorry I did not make it to chat tonight, I did not get home till after 8:00 (first day back to work and I worked over 12 hours, reality has definately set in! Miss all of you so much and wish we were back on the ship so badly.

Actually trying to talk Mike (just him and I) into a cruise in late April or May 2009 they have military rates out on these cruise and I do not think I can wait until Oct 2010. Maybe I will book anyway and if he does not want to join me I am sure I will have some takers....right?

Hi,

does anyone have a larger image of the cruise logo?

I'm trying to upload some pics to the Disney PhotoPass svc and it requires a min file size of 48k & (640x480) - just wondering if someone has a larger image they used for the tshirt transfers, etc?

I tried getting to the private site thinking there might be something there but the login i had is not working. did that change?

thanks in advance!!

Ivan - check your pm's, just sent you the passwords. Arlene changed them ages ago because we were getting some unusual visitors to chat!

Tara - count me in!! Maybe we could plan a Chat Addicts Cruise????????:cool1:

Dana - meant to ask - how was the ruins tour? I was looking at your pics last night - they were awesome. And listening to your cd (again!) while I was tackling the pile of laundry and holiday stuff that was taking up a corner of my bedroom really helped make the task easier :thumbsup2 . And did you have any luck getting the orange out of your sweatshirt and t-shirt?

Abandoned trying to load my pics to photobucket (note to self - try smaller batches than all 800+ at once! ) so will try again later and try to post them on the site. Have some great ones of the horseplay/football game the last CC day!

Hi Valerie,

Thanks I got the pm.

As far as pictures go, I try to break them up into each day. I mean I setup a folder for each day and i download all the movies, pics etc. to my laptop at the end of the day. Clear out the flash cards and start over for the next day

That way if something happens to any of the cameras or flash devices, you only lose the latest days stuff and still have everything else from the cruise

I've been around these damn things too long to know they will fail when you absolutely need them the most

helps to break everything up and much easier to review and throw out the crappy pics etc that don't come out.

hope this helps!

I have just put down the deposit for another cruise.....:cheer2:

We are going back on the Disney Magic - on the WB Transatlantic 14 night cruise from Barcelona on 18th September 2010 - my birthday! This time it will be just Tony (DH) and I :cheer2:

I have booked a GTY 11 this time, as I made the decision to go with the cheaper option of the inside cabin rather than the verandah which I really would have loved, because I am not sure what my financial commitments will be at that time. It was either a CAT 11 cruise or no cruise and no contest really! I would be happy to be back on deck 6, but 5 or 7 would be ok too.

It will be lovely to see Lynne, Karen, Jenn and Nelson again, and this time we may get to meet with Nicole and family too! Anyone else from HOTHS booked on the WB Transatlantic? We may also get more time to chat with people without the kids in tow!

I am really really really excited!

Not to make you sad...did you book any future cruise onboard? I did not book:thumbsup2 during my first cruise and then found myself sailing again 5 months later. Had a V8 moment - I could have saved 10% and gotten a bigger stateroom credit. Plus, refunds for those of us who don't book the really expensive suites are totally refundable until 90 days before cruising date.

So, lesson learned is to always book something while onboard and then change or drop as needed. I think Disney cruises are somewhat like going to Hawaii - go once and you will probably return. They say over 50% of Hawaii visitors go back. Now don't get into that trip yet, as it is a long way from Wales.

Sarah, so glad to hear you and Tony are on the WB TA. You probably don't remember me, but I was the one taking pictures of you and Shoshie during the tie-breaker after the trivia game. Our paths didn't cross much, but have enjoyed reading your posts.

We live in California and are just a one-hour plane flight away from Disneyland. In fact, going there this weekend and hope to meet up with Shosie and Adam. :yay: :yay:

Jenn, glad you found our spoon behavior entertaining. Laurel said she and Todd do this as a tradition with their tablemates every cruise. Can't wait to do that layout entited, the Spoons Take Over the High Seas. I think I even have some spoon paper in my stash. :woohoo:

Does another body know their pre-Barcelona plans or post-Canaverl plans. Tony and I want to see some of Europe before the cruise. Considering London and Paris. :cheer2: :cheer2: This is his retirement year so we are celebrating.

Welcome back to reality.

Raked the front yard (got 25 bags of leaves JUST from the front yard!!) and today am getting sick! Two weeks ago I was in windy but warm Cozumel shopping...and today fighting off the sore throat and watery eyes. Welcome home indeed.:sad2:

Just for "fun" we looked into the TA WB crossing (yes, Sarah, my birthday too!!!) and it would take a second mortgage for us to do that!!!!:scared1: Good lord it's expensive!!! For those that are doing it, have fun for me and have a drink for my birthday in remembrance, would ya'?

Unfortunately we didn't re-book on board, although I thought about doing it everytime we passed the desk - but there was always a queue of people waiting. We filled out the quote form for the Med cruise and put it in the box, but never received the quote. When we got home I knew I wanted to cruise again but after much debate we opted for the TA rather than the Med.

However, on a positive note the price I got from my TA was actually more than 10% less than the on-line quote from DCL - $500 less in fact, and I would only have got $285 off for 10% discount. I also have $100 obc (don't know how much I would get from DCL for booking on board). So I feel a bit better now about not re-booking on board - could have kicked myself when I first got off though!

HI Sandra

I do remember being introduced to you and saying hi! Unfortunately I was so harrassed on this cruise - I really didn't get too much chance to talk to everyone too much - I hopefully will be more relaxed on the TA. Do you have a copy of that photo - I would love to see it. Say hi to Shoshie and Adam when you see them.

"Spoon behaviour" - sounds intriguing - care to enlighten us?

We don't have any plans for Barcelona or PC as yet - as we are leaving the kids we will probably fly directly home from PC, depressing as that is - being in Florida and not visiting WDW. We may fly into Barcelona the night before, but that will depend on hotel prices, as it is only a 2hr flight from here we may just get an early am flight and go straight to the ship. Paris is lovely and well worth a visit (especially if it includes Disneyland Paris).

Sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather Suzie  - we have come home to cold, wet, horrible weather and I expected us all to go down with some colds or something, but so far so good. I have so many antibiotics in my system that I should be able to fight off anything!

Have you checked out the prices for the CAT 11 - they are really not too bad - but if you like your verandah then I suppose thats not an option and with two little ones thats probably a necessity.

It would be fantastic if you could make it - I am trying my best to persuade Helen and Andy that they really NEED to do this cruise too.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

Well this is just as sad. No one in chat. I'll try back later I guess....

The thrill is gone.......
