wOO-HOO! - Finally booked my travel insurance...£99 with Direct-travel for annual multi covering Ellis' allergy:banana:

Now I just have to pay the cruise:banana:

Glad you finally got a good price and coving Ellis's allergy as well. Once you pay for the cruise, you can reserve your excursions, make Palo reservations as well as the spa, on the 90 day mark.

Its 75 days for us:sad1: - in other words nothing left:confused3

I feel like I should be more organised. Still no idea on any of the trips we want to do or anything:rolleyes1 . No itinary yet for the week before or time after:rolleyes1 ...so may things to do and less than 9 months to go:rotfl:

Our broadband crashed last night while I was in the middle of perhaps my most eloquent DIS-statement ever... oh the tragedy! :lmao: :lmao:

You don't realize how much you rely on the internet until it's gone ... talk about feeling disconnected!

We had the APL rotation on our 2004 Western (we actually requested it because at that time I wanted to be in Lumiere's on formal night). At this point having cruised DCL twice I don't really care where we are, but I will admit that the atmosphere in Lumiere'a really does make the formal night setting seem more...formal. (That was definitely not an eloquent statement).

It's funny - in 2005 we didn't request a specific rotation and we still ended up in Lumiere's for formal night!

Once we get the Yahoo site opened up to everyone we can start a sign-up for Tag - we'll need to establish a cut-off date for this to give people enough time to prepare, especially those who are traveling in advance.

Errr...about that REPO cruise....if the price is right I may have to work my husband over a bit...

We take a lot for granted. We don't know how easy we have it though. Even if we lose power for a couple of hours it's like the end of the world.

I remember watching Cinderella Man with my Grandmother (98 years old) and she couldn't remember why she didn't listen to the final fight on the radio. It kept her up that night and then the next morning at breakfast she said she thought about it and said they didn't have electricity for 3 YEARS!!!!!! :scared1: This was during the Depression and they had 2 children. I couldn't even imagine.

None the less, I am at a loss without my internet (and the DIS for that matter). :surfweb:

Not sure if you are looking at a Balcony room or not for the cruise (Suz and I originally wanted one for when we pasted through the canal, but now figure that is only one day so maybe a Cat 8 if we can't get a SPH), but looking at this May's EB repo to the med, Cat 8's are only $6,200 right now for 2 Adults and 1 Child (age 8 - DS's age in '08). That is not counting the 10% rebooking discount we'd get and only 4 months from right now (not the 18 months until this sails).

If we could get an SPH, a Cat 10 this May is only $4,800 for us.

August this year is a little more, Cat 8 = $7,500 and Cat 10 = $5,800, but these are today's prices, not the ones when they first came out.

This may be more doable than I think.

BTW, Cat 7's were $7,400/$9,100 for May and August, respectively. The Cat 6's for us would be $7,600/$9,100.

If we can get on the boat for $6,000 or less, we're going. I might even go as high as $6,500. Now Suz onboard spending might be equal to that though. :scared1: :lmao:

Well, we loves us a verandah so I can't see taking that cruise without one. It's just really hard to guesstimate what the cost would be. I know when we were sailing in October 2004 and re-booked on board for 2005 we initially priced a 7-night Mexican cruise in a cat 6 and it was twice as much as the same category stateroom for the Eastern we ended up booking instead.

Just based on that experience I'm not hopeful that the prices will be very reasonable, but who knows. We'll just see what happens next week when DCL opens up the booking window.

BTW ... why is there still a smiley icon out here with a Santa hat?

We've not given up yet Brenda as Ive asked Sue at dreams to get us a quote for a cat 6 for me Hazel and the twins,we can live and hope...:rotfl2:

I'm waiting on a quote from Dreams, too... if it's anything like the one we got for the Med. sailings I may hear Jason say the word "no" for the third time 12 years. :lmao:

:lmao: Dont tell me everyone is abandoning us:sad:   I forbid the mention of the word "repo" on this thread:p

Just emailed Disney and pleaded for a PLA rotation and a table for just the 3 of us due to his allergy.

I also mentioned that all the surfaces in the cabin would need to be wiped thoroughly before we board incase the previous occupants scoffed on nuts the whole week. I did mention that having a cat 11 without a window would make this even more essential - hint hint for a free upgrade to a room with a window:rolleyes1 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rolleyes1

I'll let you know when they upgrade us for free to a cat 1:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: - Roys suite will do - I'm not fussy:lmao: :lmao:

"hint hint for a free upgrade to a room with a window"

You sly fox you....:rotfl2:

email to DCL:
"could we be upgraded to a cat 1 or 2 please so are friend Karen can have are cat 3 to help with Ellis's allergy's".....

I promise that if I get Roys suite I'll share it with ya:thumbsup2
I think I have more chance of winning the lottery:lmao:

Are you in a posh cat 3 then? Should we call you Lord Chris and lady Hazel:goodvibes

Karen,

Did you keep your early seating? You will have 5:45 then. 8:15 if you switched to late.

This rotation will put you in L for Pirate and A for both Semi-Formal and Formal.

Hope that helps.

Jeff

Yes Jeff, I kept early seating. 5.45pm sounds fine to us....after all it will take a while before the food comes so its not as if you are eating at 5.45. Quite fancied being in A for formal - we will blend in with the decor - black dress and black trousers for the men.

What do people intend doing in Cozumel? Am I right we dont have to get back onboard til late - 9pmish? Do people eat in Coz rather than getting back onboard?

Just been looking at our city's tourism site for ideas on tag prezzies:thumbsup2 - think I might be sorted.:cool1:

Karen,

You can figure at least 30-45 minutes to get your food at dinner, so that will put you at 6:15 to 6:30. That is a good time. We haven't put a request in yet since we don't know what is going on with this cruise. I think I might go for PLA next time since we are on early. I don't like the 5:30 that comes with APL.

We just went to Paradise Beach when we were there last week. It was a $13 cab ride each way and you don't have to pay for chairs/umbrella. They do expect you to order food/beverages from them. We did, but nothing too expensive. It came to about $20 or so.

You can get an all day wristband from them. It will allow you on the rafts, trampoline, "iceberg", and other stuff. It was $9 per person. We didn't do that.

Another place just down the beach from Paradise was Mr. Sancho's. I think they had the same set up.

Check online for both. You can get info and maybe a coupon.

We did eat a late lunch in Cozumel (since we had late dinner). We always go to Pancho's Backyard when we're there. It is on the north end of town (not out of the way, just at the end of the shopping area). Good food.

I think we sailed at 7:30 that day. The 9:30 was listed originally on our ressie, but that was changed. Not sure if it has something to do with Daylight Savings Time for October.

Jeff

The last time we were there Jason and I did the Fury Catamaran Snorkel, Sail & Beach Party - it was 12:30PM - 5:30PM and it was great fun.

I don't snorkel so I just hung out on the catamaran in psuedo-starlet mode letting all the excursion guys who weren't snorkeling fuss over me. ;)

After about 45 minutes of snorkel time in some of the clearest water I've ever seen, you get a nice ride to Fury's private beach where you can play for a couple of hours - it was really nice. Jason and I took out a sea kayak for a while - all the equipment was free - they just charged for food and drinks.

Then you get another 45-minute ride back to the Pier with free drinks from the company. They also have their own photographer who will have pictures ready for you to buy once the day is over.

For the price (about $45 per person) it was a great deal. I think we will probably be doing this one again - it's quite popular. There were about 90 people from just DCL who were on this excursion with us. Quite a crowd compared with the 13 and 11 for our excursions in St. Martin and St. Thomas.

We are going on the Western 7 night cruise October 20th, we(children and I) have never been on a cruise before. I have so many many questions, i cant even begin to think of them, but i normally plan our WDW vacations out by the hour, so i am a bit up in the air about this cruise because i dont even know what to plan....right now just to keep my planning going i am planning what clothes we will need and what we want to wear, when.
