Question for those of you who have done early dining before...

Is it really loud and filled with screaming kids??? Our friends are planning on coming with us in 2008 (we decided on 10/25/08 for the double dip cruise!) and they want to know how bad/loud the early dining seating is, we've always done late so we have no idea??

If you weighed me, it would be in boulders!:rotfl2:

Jeff, I'm so glad I wasn't drinking anything, the 'puter screen would've been covered! ;) Don't think DH would be too happy!

We're doing the early seating, and have requested the earliest, APL. We want to be in L for formal night, and P for pirates night. And there's just no way we can wait for late dining. Our girls take F O R E V E R to eat!

"Dust stuff" for Karen! :wizard:

Anyone play "Viva Pinata" on the Xbox? OMG, I'm so hooked on it!

Cass, we've done early before, and didn't find it too disruptful. By mid cruise, the kids usually weren't around. Hangin' out in the kids club I guess. By then Kira will be almost 2, and you'll have your hands so full, you probably won't even notice any screaming kids around you!

Very windy here tonight. Had some flurries today, nothing too major.

Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Just a morning bump from Brum:goodvibes

Been up since 4am cos I couldnt sleep:sad2:
Oh well, at least the ironing is now all done and I'm half way through the :laundy:

Thanks for the dust stuff everyone... I'll let you know if I can get an agent out today to go on the market. We'll have to move fast and I dont think they'll drop much in price - fingers crossed no-one wants to offer who saw it yesterday after us. I'll be gutted if we dont get it.

Edited- 2 valuers coming out today - throw some dust stuff our way!

Thanks Heather. :yay:

I did a search on Fish Extenders and found a DISer who cruised with a lady who may be willing to make some to sell. She makes them, and we decorate them ourselves.

Her's were just plain red, white, black and yellow (Mickey's colors). If the price is right I may just order one from her and put my own personal touches on it.

Seems like we have a lot of DISers who want to play the tag game. These will surely hold all that loot!!

The DISer that you are talking about is probably the person who made mine - it definately sounds right. We all received one as our gift from her. You need to secure the extender with a cable tie, just to make sure it doesn't come off the fish. It made a great way of leaving those oddly shaped gifts that won't fit behind the fish itself. It was exciting coming back to the cabin each day to find another gift in the pockets.

Those are cute but I guess I wonder how much more tempting a target it would be for Lightfingered-Larry if he or his cronies are on board ship?

It would be a shame if this happened. I must admit, we didn't leave anything in the pockets, we emptied it each time we returned to the cabin.

Heather, I think we are talking about the same person. She did make them for the 11 day Southern which I believe you said you were on.:)

Her idea about cable ties (zipties) was excellent! The Fast Finger Freddies (see Brenda, we Wisconsinites have them too) will have a tough time stealing those.

He once had to ziptie our Christmas Lights to some bushes when we lived in a rougher neighborhood in Milwaukee. We lived on a corner and the bushes were easy access to FFF's! They would run by and grab hold of the lights and just run with them. So Chuck got smart and bought some zipties and attached them that way. Sure enough, someone tried it again and this time we heard a scream and a thump! That time our FFF got snagged himself and ended up on the sidewalk in a heap!!:lmao: Chuck ran out (I watched from the window:cutie: protecting the children, of course:rolleyes1 ) and grabbed the culprit. Can you imagine the kid got all ticked off and started yelling at Chuck that he's going to sue us because his hand was all bloody! :rotfl2:

I guess it takes all kinds to make up this crazy world doesn't it?

Been on the yahoo site today:banana: - added a few details. Looking forward to seeing more of you on there soon.:wave2:

House update:
Valuer 1 has been and gone. Not as much as I had hoped but not too bad either. Valuer 2 due at 3pm. Valuer 3 due tomorrow morning.
In theory we can borrow enough (85%) against the sale of our current house on a buy to let basis to put down til it sells and then have a whopper of a mortgage for the rest:scared1: Its scary:scared: - too many zeros!:scared:

Sounds familiar - I had a georgous fabric santa with sticky suction hands that I stuck onto the inside of the porch door. He only lasted 2 days before some thieving pig stole him:mad:

Could you also use a drawstring type bag on the fish? I have a mesh lavender coloured bag (like a little washbag) I could hook that over the fish and cable tie it. I wouldnt care if someone stole that:confused3 - unless it was full of prezzies of course:rotfl: It could then double up as a toiletry bag for the journeys. - just trying to save a bit of space in the cases. I'm terrible for buying stuff - we alays take some clothes to throw away once worn to give us more room in the case on the return journey - plus it saves:laundy: when I get home!

Yes, I think everone has similar stories - we had a Christams door wreath taken one year, I had made it myself and was so upset, it took ages to make. The mesh bag is a good idea Karen.

Karen - did I miss the log on details or are they yet to be circulated?

Did anyone find out what the countdown on the Disney site was all about?

Heather

Just thought I'd let you know that I talked to our friends (that we are joining on the cruise) this weekend about the friendly bunch that you all are, and they asked to added to the list of fellow Konked Cruisers and take part in TAG.

Bev and Dave will be celebrating thier 25th anniversary on the boat and will be joined by their daughter, Nicola who will be 12 and their Son, James who will be 10. It's also Dave's birthday, the day before we get on the Magic.

Also joining us is Bev's Mum and Dad, Sheila and Frank. This will be their first ever cruise, but are old hands at the Disney stuff. Sheila will also be celebrating her birthday, whilst on the boat.

Celebrations all round.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Cass - I will email you their cabin numbers to add to our list, but I don't have a photo yet.

Heather

I think someone (Brenda I think) will be on later to tell you all how to log on etc.

I never found out what the big announcement was either:confused3 - cant have been that good or we'd have heard something by now.

It sounds like quite a big group you have there Heather. We'll all need name tags if we meet up - I forget my own name somedays:rolleyes1

I think most of us have something to celebrate - Neil, Ellis and I will have just had birthdays (mines the dreaded 40th!) before the cruise and our wedding anniv is the following month.

House Update - valuer 2 - didnt like them - talked at the speed of sound and it was all utter garbage!:hyper2: Couldnt get rid of them til just. I wouldnt mind but I already told her I used to work in an estate agents so I knew almost everything she was saying anyway:rolleyes: I think she was on autopilot and had to do the "speech". Couldnt face dealing with her regularly - I would need anadin:headache:

Its very quiet tonight/this afternoon.

I had a thought about the countdown and may have answered my own question. Think it may be announcement of the first winner of a night in Cinderella's Castle as part of a million dreams.

And it wasn't me:sad2: :sad2:

Oh well, carry on dreaming.
Heather

Also...Welcome to Bev, Dave and family!! :welcome:

Evening everyone. :goodvibes

Both my girls are coming down with cruddy colds. They're both coughing, and it sounds really deep. Yuck! Usually one is ahead of the other, but they both seem to be in sync with this one. Sigh! Such germ factories.

Just killing time before 24 starts.

What a long, busy day at work today. Is it Friday yet? Actually, I have to work on Saturday too, so is it Saturday yet?

I agree with Heather. I too thought the announcement would be about the winner of the Castle stay.
