They were delivered some time today by UPS. My daughter said the package was left on our porch and she found it when she got home from school.

:cool1: :cheer2: YEAH SPENCER:cheer2: :cheer2:

Need to share a story - hope this doesnt bore you.

Spencer is a HUGE Baseball fan....while he plays hockey, soccer, cross country running, swimming, etc - baseball is his favourite thing to do.

But he has had 3 broken bones in the last few years and that has had a real impact on his playing. (1. September 2005 - first week of school, tripped over the slide at school and broke his elbow 2. August 2006 - summer camp, was jumping off the stage and caught his foot on something and broke his wrist. 3. January 2007 - play fighting at home and came down on his leg the wrong way and broke it. Thank God he was only with us once or we would be under investigation by childcare services. Doctor says he is fine, just unlucky).

So this summer he has really been focusing on building his leg muscles back up as he was casted for 9 weeks and I was amazed at how long it took for him to fully recover - probably didnt run properly until July.

Over the last 2 weekends he has been trying out to win a spot to "practice" with the Rep Baseball Coaches over the winter. They dont pick the team until April but the coaches take about 15-16 kids and practice with them from January to April - this gives the kids a real lead on other kids to make the team as they have practices for a few months AND the coaches have got to know them!

60 kids tried out the first 2 tryouts and then we were told that only 24 woudl be invited back for the final try out

YEAH - Spencer got picked to come back last Sunday for the final tryout. He had a good try out but he was the slowest runner. We were told that they would narrow it down to the 16 kids and that they would call over the next night or two.

Sunday ngiht - no call

Monday night - no call

Tuesday night - no call

Wednesday - Mommy is getting irritated so she calls the coach and leaves a message.

2 hours later - YEAH! Spencer has been chosen to practice with the team. So no guarantee he will make the REP team but at least he is one step closer to his dream!!! We are all so excited for him!

Thanks for letting me share

:cool1: :woohoo: :cheer2: YEAH CASS:cheer2: :cheer2: Now you don't have to worry anymore that they won't come in time :yay:

Just got in the door from in-laws...our cruise docs were sitting inside our screen door!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I took some pics if you wanna see....just gotta edit them after I catch up on the boards!

Be right back :woohoo:

Ok, so I posted yesterday that I wouldn't be online last night 'cuz I was doing door signs and t-shirts...

Worked on door signs using Power Point, since that's the one that seemed to be easiest to use with the clip art and the downloaded Disney font. Got my signs designed, burned to a CD, and off to Staples I went to have them printed. Waited 10 minutes to have them printed .....

and.....

none of them had the Disney font I used!!!! They all had plain Arial font!:scared1:  :scared:

Well, as soon as I saw it I figured out what happened...their computers of course did not have that font. The lady at the counter suggested I go back and save them as .jpg files, and then the font should stay. Also, on one of the signs, the clipart I used was very grainy and pixillated (spelling?), so I will have to redesign it. All in all, very disappointing. I did not even have the heart to start work on the t-shirts.....

Congrats Lori:cheer2:

No DOC dance here in upstate N.Y.:sad1: I think this is the longest we have ever waited for our documents.:rolleyes1

LL

I agree with you. I am trying to be patient but this is the longest we have ever had to wait. My mother just told me last night that if she does not hear from our TA by Monday that she is sending my father down there on Tuesday. I would really hate to be the TA then.

Jen that had to be very frustrating after all your hard work  :flower3:

So then, I woke up at 4 am this morning, and decided to give the t-shirts a go after all. I loaded the software, and started playing with the design. The back of the shirt was easy (KK logo) and I played around with the front designs a bit.

I 'think' I have what I want, and I printed off test pages to see if anything got cut off and if the software flipped the images properly.

Tonight I will go borrow Mom's color ink cartridges (she has the same printer I do) and print the transfers. So, keep your fingers crossed for me!

That's strange that they came in Kira's name :confused3 Although Rachel has been getting credit card applications in the mail for at least 2 years now. Now that is a very scary thought :scared1: a credit card for a young teen who LOVES to shop :lmao:

So....Kira got her docs today :rolleyes1 Yup, they were addressed to a ten month old :lmao:

Does anyone know if you can still buy a brick at Disney anywhere? I thought it would be a nice engagement gift for the kids.

email dl.bricks@disney.com I believe that they are still avail.

Make sure that you save the files as a high quality .jpg and, she is correct, you will have no problem with the font.

Jen I'm sure they'll turn out fine!pixiedust:

Jen, for future reference, I'm not sure what they are doing where you live, but Walgreen's here just started a cartridge refilling service. You can have your printer cartridges refilled for less than $11.00! I'm trying that next time.

More good ideas of things to add to my don't forget list! Thanks Nancy :thumbsup2

Good afternoon UK'ers! I was wondering, has Lori joined the ranks of the UK? She was up waaaaaay too early to be a USAer. :scared1:

Loved the lists from yesterday. I got a few good ideas. Here is yet another list of essentials I need to get together:

Boarding Passes/Airline Tickets
AAA CArds
Drivers License
Passports (and copies of passports)
Health & Dental Insurance Cards
Car Insurance Card
Hopper Passes
Travelers Checks
Cash/Tip singles
Disney Visa
Disney Rewards Cards
Toll $
Docs
Cell Phone/Chargers
Phone Numbers
List of credit card numbers (Hand off to Tony)
Epcot Legacy Location
Medications/Chuck's C-Pap

This is the "Half-Hour" list I mentioned yesterday, but in greater detail.

Hope someone finds this helpful.

Ok, so MRI's, blood sugar tests, cross country running (Fun Run in DC on Monday), and keeping up with challenging classes weren't enough for my girl....We saw an orthodontist yesterday....braces in about a month! I don't know how my girl is keeping it all together. She is so much stronger than I was at her age. I think she needs this trip more than anyone in this family. I am so proud of her.......:goodvibes

   Well done for keeping strong Emily:hug:

Heather! This DCL tips page is gonna kill me. I can see me staying up all night printing off all of the various parts. It'll take me a week to read it all!

I am getting my hair colored this Fri. I can't wait the greys are really popping out, I went longer between colorings this time so it would look good for my nieces wedding and the cruise. No cut for me though, I have been trying to grow my hair and I'm afraid a trim would turn into a full cut or layers like what happened to Cass

Grey hair. Don't even remind me. I got my hair cut about 2 weeks ago and during the cut my hair guy found a gray hair. Kind of funny because it was extremely curly. I have wavy hair but not that curly. So he pulled it out for me. Then we went up to the cabin that following weekend and I found another one. Same thing real curly. Then this past week I decided to style my hair and I found another one. I am turning 30 and I have grey hair.

   for Emily (and Paige because I am sure you are her rock through all of this)

Here's New's You Can Use...

Story

CELEBRATION, Fla., Oct. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Disney Cruise Line strives to offer guests a hassle-free vacation experience by providing extra services, such as Disney's Magical Express, that help eliminate some of the stresses of family travel. And beginning this fall, select guests sailing with Disney Cruise Line will find their vacation experience has been made even easier with the introduction of Onboard Airline Check-In. This new service will allow qualified guests to check-in for their post-cruise flights while on board the Disney Magic or Disney Wonder, eliminating the need to do so at Orlando International Airport.

Guests participating in Onboard Airline Check-In will enjoy the ease and convenience of not having to collect their luggage upon debarkation -- checked luggage will be transported directly from the ship to the guest's flight. While on their cruise, guests' boarding passes will be delivered to their staterooms the day prior to disembarkation. Upon the ship's return to Port Canaveral, participating guests can proceed directly to Customs and then to Orlando International Airport where they bypass check-in and continue straight to airport security and on to their assigned departure gate.

In order to take advantage of this service, guests will need to meet certain requirements and be booked on a domestic flight on one of the seven participating air carriers: AirTran Airways, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Northwest Airlines, or United Airlines/Ted. Eligible guests will be able to enroll for Onboard Airline Check-in by completing pre-registration information received at Orlando International Airport or one of the Disney Cruise Line Hospitality Desks at the Walt Disney World Resort and turning it in during check-in at Port Canaveral.

To learn more about Disney Cruise Line or to book a Disney Cruise Line vacation, guests can contact their travel agent, visit http://www.disneycruise.com/ or call Disney Cruise Line at (888) DCL-2500. Travel agents can call Disney Cruise Line at (888) 325-2500 or visit http://www.disneytravelagents.com/.

Disney Cruise Line

I really hope this is in place at the time of our cruise. This will be such a big help. Especially with those of us with small children.

Did I miss something. I did not see US Airways on the list of airlines.:sad2:
