Hi Jeff! Thanks for the update - our local news was just talking about this because they "think" by Monday the remnants will be moving up the Mississippi to finally bring us some rain and cool us off. It's been back in the 90s again all week ... ugh!

This one actually has me worried for the Gulf because the water temps are still so warm - could get scary if conditions are right.

Can I ask a favor? Would you mind PMing me with the weather link you posted a few days back? And before I forget ... would you like my Passporter from 2005 with all the Panama Canal stuff? I'll bring it with me to WDW and pass it off to one of my English friends to give you on the ship if you want it.

Yes, that storm could get ugly. You can already see the circulation around it now and it is just starting to move off of FL. When it hits that warm water, it will get "fueled".

Yes, I would love your 2005 Passporter for the PC stuff. That would be great. If you're meeting up with Karen, I'm sitting with her at dinner. Otherwise, anyone of the KKers would be fine.

I actually am getting a free sprial bound Passporter for a tip I sent in last week. However, they only gave me the option of 2007 WDW or DL or the upcoming 2008 WDW. I was going to ask if there was any chance that I could get a 2008 DCL one. It's worth a shot.

So we can take the towels from the ship onto the islands???? I have been wondering that as well

When we're done at the pool the day before we are going to be off the ship and at a beach, we always take about 5 with us to the room. We pack them in our backpack for the next day.

You will actually see towel bins where you get back on the ship to throw them when you are gonig to reboard. No need to run to Deck 9 and drop them there.

Yes, you do get Characters at your table. I think we had Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto. Chip and Dale were also around as they did a musical number and we all stood up and waved our napkins.

It's also the time when the Maitre De earns his tip as he personally gives you your ticket!

Hasn't this changed to some kind of lame event? Or have they gone back to the Character Breakfast? (please, please please)

Does anyone know if Disney usually assigns a room # before you sail for a CAT 12 GTY on the website or do they usually give it to you when you check-in on sailing day?
I gotta get back to work!!!

You should have it in your docs. Those will come in the next couple of weeks.

In your docs you will have luggage tags with your room number on it. It helps the guys load the ship and get it to the right room.

I bet you will see a room number in the next week or so. Maybe even by the end of the weekend. They have to print and mail the docs soon.

It is still a Character Breakfast. I think they may have changed it up a little, but ALL of the characters will come to your table.

As I said, I only think Mickey has a photographer with him now.

Really? There was all that talk about Mickey's Island Jambouree (or something like that) and people were saying they didn't come to the tables. Are you saying they have switched back? Sorry for the third degree--I just don't want to tell my kids the wrong thing.

KAREN:The Amazing Race season with the hippies was one of our favorites. We LOVED those guys. That was also a great moment when Joyce of "Uchenna & Joyce" shaved her head. She was gorgeous when her hair grew in a little bit--I loved that cropped look on her.

DCL site update.

Yesterday morning, Cats 5, 6, 11 and 12 were availalbe. Last night it was only Cats 6, 11 and 12. This morning Cats 5, 6, 9, 11 and 12 are available.

Only the cruise after us in October has a full slate of rooms (i.e. you can pick any Cat, from 4-12).

I tried to bring up my ressie this morning, and it errored me out. So I tried my repo ressie number. I got in. Thinking I may have just timed my log in wrong, I tried the October ressie again. No luck, still an error message. Went immediately back to entering the repo ressie, and it went in.

For some reason, my October ressie is blocked out. Maybe it is just a glich, maybe something is up. Don't know.,

I will check it again a little later and see what I find. Hopefully this is good news.

Just seems weird with all the rooms that are available, then aren't, and then are again. And then to top it off, the ressie can't be pulled up.

EDITED TO ADD:

I just tried again, and now the "my reservation" system is blocked out. So needless to say, it is probably just a system glitch. Although, no more than 5 minutes ago I could get one but not the other.

Sorry to get anyone's hopes up.

I think that they may be having some sort of problem with the ressie system. I've been seeing some of the same variations that you are. But I am not experienced enough to know if this is normal during the room shuffling, last minute ship filling time.

Not rambling at all Steve. I found this story (as well as all your others) quite interesting. Will you be our tour guide if we ever visit sunny CA? BTW..I showed Chuck your house decorations and he is quite impressed. Maybe a tad bit jealous too.

Thank you, I would be happy to show you about. There's some great things here. Tell Chuck that he should keep his eyes opened for this Christmas. I expect it to be pretty awesome. Actually, This Halloween will be cool. I've got big plans for that.

Just to add to Heather, when we were there in January, I believe it was only Mickey who had a ship's photographer with him. I would have to check our photos to be certain, but they do NOT go around with all the characters.

When did those comments surface? I haven't been reading the main thread. I just know that back in January we had the character breakfast.

If something has come up since then, then my info is useless. Maybe check a "live from" thread and see what is going on or post a question there.

We may actually skip it this time, especially if it is on a sea day for us. Since there are only two, those are precious days to us.

If we get APL (not what Karen requested) we'll have it on Sunday. If that is the case we'll go.

The request is for PLA, so that would be Thursday. Suz has already indicated she doesn't want to go. I'll ask DS that morning if he wants to do it.
