I had to get back to those chores!

Welcome back Jeff. Hope you had a good time despite the rain! How were the crowds?

We worked around the rain, so it didn't slow us down one bit.

The worst was on Saturday while we were in Epcot. It was sunny all morning, and because we wanted to go to MK for Spectro that night, we decided to use our sit-down for that day at Mexico (figured we'd be able to get in by walk-up and DS would eat there). Since it is dark in there, you don't know what's happening outside. After lunch we went on the boat ride and people coming from outside were still dry. When we got off and went to leave Mexico, it was a huge rain storm. It didn't let up for about an hour and a half. My shoes were soaking wet for 3 days (I have a pair of Disney Crocs now though). It ended and we still had some pool time and it was dry in MK.

Everyday had about an hour of rain in the afternoon. Just had to plan around it. On Sunday, it didn't rain at our resort, but it did elsewhere in the World. We always planned around the rain. Get back to the room between 2-3 and then either relax in the room and then the pool or hit the pool and then the room. It all depended on the rain. The nights were all perfect.

As for the crowds, Blizzard was dead on Friday. Walked on all rides except the tobogan rides (15 min wait). MK was dead for the Pirate and Princess Party (they limit it to 30,000, but I think we had at best 10,000 that night). No waits at all.

We did Epcot first thing on Saturday and walked onto Soarin, then to Nemo, then to Figment, then to Test Track (longest wait = 15 minutes). Did lunch and then the rain hit. Went to MK that night for Spectro and it was packed. Did Jungle Cruise and PotC (about 15-20 on each), fast passed Splash (50 min wait) and skipped Big Thunder (50 min wait), skipped Space (80 min wait - no fast passes).

On Sunday we had breakfast at AK (Donald's Breakfastasouras - sp?) at 8:00, were done by 8:45 so at the rope for 9:00 opening. Were second in line for Everest and then fast passed it for later. Then did Kali (ride didn't open until almost 9:40) so that was a long wait, but the monkeys right there were really entertaining that morning. Then fast passed the safari and went out to Rafiki's while we waited for the fast pass time (stand by was 40 min, so was the fast pass - no brainer there). Rode Everest again, then to Primeval Whirl - walked right on. So AK was dead.

Not so for MGM. They had early entry that day. We went just to take DS on Rock n Roll and Star Tours. Rock n Roll was a 50 minute wait when we showed up at 1:00 and the fast passes were for 4:05-5:05 (wasn't staying that long). Went to Star Tours, said 10 minutes, but was more like 20-25 (first time it was longer than it said - usually less). That ride is usually walk right on. Note to others, if you want to do this ride, it has the best fast pass system I've seen. They immediately let FP people on when they show up - no waiting or merging with stand-by guests. We were stand-by, so it p'd me off a little, but if you are FP, you'll love it.

That night we went to Epcot for Dinner, but arrived 1:30 before our time. We did Universe of Energy since Test Track was 80 minutes and Soarin was about the same. Fast Passes were out, so no luck there. Didn't do anything else that night.

So overall, it depended where you went and when. If you went in the morning to mid-afternoon, it was pretty dead. Don't go to any park with Extra Magic Hours. In the evening, don't plan on more than 2-3 rides at a park and just take in the parade/fireworks.

We'd do it again on this weekend, but would do it a little differently - one park day and one hotel day (and if on the dining plan again, we'd do a character breakfast that morning and a "show" dinner that night and use up 3 sit-down vouchers that day - you don't have time to sit and eat if you're trying to get to the rides).

We're thinking about maybe going to Downtown Disney before heading to the Country Inn at the port too

We need to get to DtD before hand also to get the Lego Advent Calendar (wasn't in this past weekend). However, I'm not wasting anytime that afternoon since we're at the Ron Jon. If we go, it will be in the evening.

Otherwise, I think I may just order it online and pay the shipping (a lot less than my time or the gas to run to DtD).

Jeff, sounds like a great time to go to DW, most of your line wait times were excellent!

Don't you just love,love Everest?!:woohoo:
Course, my son wouldn't go on with me....

So, you only went for the weekend?
Did the kids love the pirate and princess party?
10,000 at MK! Cool!

Mike and Robin I just saw the pictures from Addison's birthday, she is adorable :cutie: What a nice family picture too!

thanks. we are very lucky. not sure if robin mentioned it or not but our daughter in law is with child again!! only about 1 1/2 months so far and they havnt announced it to the rest of the family yet, so keep it under your hat.
