Yes it has been very quiet lately. What excursions are you all looking at doing? We are still trying to decide.

We're still trying to decide too. This will be our 4th Western although we have only made it to both Key West and Grand Cayman twice each.

On Key West Rachel would like to have us rent one of those electric cars to drive around in but I think they only seat 4 and with our friends that are travelling with us there will be 5 of us so mybe we will use the Old Towne Trolley to get us around again. They make multiple stops and you can get on and off where you want, the trolleys come by about every 20 min. so it is a good way to get around the island. Our friends would like to get to the Butterfly Conservancy and we will definitely be going to the Blond Girraffe for some frozen chocolate dipeed Key Lime Pie on a stick, very yummy and very refreshing!

On Grand Cayman our friends are going to do the Atlantis Submarine excursion and we might join them on that and then just walk around town.

On Cozumel were not really sure at all. We might just end up walking around and doing some shopping. Al and Rachel love the "market areas" and they both love haggling to try and get the price down on what they are trying to buy :rolleyes1

Hi Rose it's abeautiful day here in WI too! I have already gotten sone flowers planted this morning and sprayed some of the weeds that are trying to take over my garden again. Why do the weeds grow better than the flowers  Enjoy your beautiful weather!

Missy and Lori are you going to see Pirates tonight??? I wish we could but I have to work tonight. We have a very busy weekend ahead of us but I am hoping we can get to see it on Mon. Al is leary of going because it is opening weekend but we went on opening weekend to the second movie and we just got there quite early and we were fine.

See ya in the a.m.! Tell hubby I'll see him tomorrow night at the premiere of Pirates.......I'm gonna work on my "surprises" before I go to bed.....:woohoo:

We have done the Atlantis Submarine in Grand Caymen before. It was nice.

I think we are going to do the trolley thing at Key West also. We weren't too impressed last time we were there and this time just want to hit the highlights that we didn't get to see.

Cozumel--We are thinking of doing some Eco Park.

Cheryl - How are this a.m.!!

Lori is not a big pirate fan. :scared1: :scared1: I know, I know....:scared1:. It's just unbelievable isn't it!! However, her husband is, as is mine, so the three of us are going to the premier tonight at 8:00 p.m.:yay: We will also be taking our sons and our next door neighbor! We can't wait!

When I get back from lunch I will tell you a little story about surprising our husbands last year for the premier of Pirates 2!:goodvibes

Talk to you this afternoon.........

Missy

Cheryl,

Did you get rerouted on 1 of your cruises?

O.K., I have a confession to make, I will not be upset if we get rerouted on this cruise. Sorry everyone. Since I've been on both (2 E, 1 W and 1 3nt), and even though there are things we want to do at each of the Western ports, if we go East, it won't upset me. I'm just happy we'll be on the Ship for a week. :cool1: If we should go East, I hope we do something other than St. Maarten, maybe Antigua. Don't want Nassau either.

Jeff our cruise in Jan. 03 we didn't make it to Grand Cayman. I think we were almost there, we had gotten up early so that we could get breakfast and slather on the sunscreen for snorkling with the stingrays and while we were eating breakfast on deck 9 you could tell the ship was changing course. Soon there was an announcement that we would not be able to go to Grand Cayman because the port athority said it was too windy and too rough to tender us in safely and their port was closed. So we headed to Cozumel early and were actually docked there by around 10:00 that night and they did allow people to get off the ship in Cozumel that night too.

We didn't stop at Key West when we cruised Thanksgiving week of 2003 because they were having some kind of boat races there that week so instead we had 2 stops at Cataway Cay that cruise  I love Castaway Cay and we had been to Key West before so that was OK with me!

I'll confess that I too will not be upset if we get rerouted on this cruise. I'd love to get back to St. Thomas/St.John but we weren't impressed with St. Maarten either which is part of why we haven't done the Eastern again in addition to the fact that the Western itinerary seems to keep falling when Rachel has a long weekend off of school. I'd love to get to some new islands!!! They are saying this will be anactive hurricane season so who knows what will happen. Time will tell.

Surprisingly, we have yet to have an issue getting into any port and have always had great (sunny and very warm) weather, and we did our 3 seven nighters in January.

You'll be happy to know that I think as of next year, for the next couple at least, the WI Teacher's Vacation (sorry, convention) will fall at a time where you will be able to sail over Halloween and it will be the Double Dip Castaway Cay cruises (with stops at Costa Maya and Cozumel). You may want to look into booking one of those. :thumbsup2

As for St. Thomas, I really want to get back to St. John and Trunk Bay. That looked like heaven when we did our island tour. If it would be combined with St. Maarten, I'd probably just beach it one of those days. The other thing would be to take a ferry to one of the close islands. I'm always leary though of going off the island when we have to get back to the ship.

Hello Rose, nice to hear from ya!:goodvibes

Just booked my 40th birthday evening:banana:

I've decided on a place called Studley castle. 3 couples (my oldest friends)
will wine and dine in all our finery (I'll be in the same dress on formal night;) ), then overnight in the castle. Sounds like fun.

I have booked us the best suite they have. I'll be taking my own cake - ( georgous cheesecake of course:rolleyes1 ) and lots of champagne and red wine.:yay:

They are saying this will be anactive hurricane season so who knows what will happen.

Weren't they trying to hype the hurricane season last year after Katrina in '05? It was suppose to be so bad with numerous Cat 4 and 5 stroms hitting the US.

Not a single hurricane hit the US last year and the season overall wasn't that bad.

People like to hype the weather.
