We also so had a young girl on last night who sang "wouldn't it be lovely" but she again was clearly no strangler to the stage.....bring back the knife chucker and his daughter i say.....

Linda, so sorry to read your post. My first reaction was shock but I wish I could say that I'm surprised. Chris is absolutely right - she's playing the CYA (cover your a$$) game and justifying her lack of action by blaming you and Wayne for being unreasonable and aggressive.

I'd go over her head to her boss and try to get this straightened out - easier said than done I'm sure. And it's starting to sound a bit suspicious to me that bully-boy's parents are on the council and no one will do anything about disciplining him. I know it's a dirty word around here lately, but maybe you need to speak with a solicitor? Nothing like the threat of legal action against the school to make them sit up and listen.

Good luck with all this and as Nancy said, we're 100% behind you guys on this. You vent here as much as you need to.

I posted about that singing guys teeth yesterday - I just asked why he didn't get them fixed, didn't rag on his appearance or smackdown his performance...just wanted to know why he didn't get his teeth repaired.

And then I proceed to receive PMs of the most distrubing nature...my self-esteem was shattered and I'm going to have to stop for Starbucks this morning just to make myself feel better.


BTW - Karen and Nancy...I was posting last night, just not here. Go read my food porn, you know you want to!!

In fact, after being called names that I can't repeat in polite company, I think I may have to ask for extra whipped cream on my grande mocha this morning.

Sorry I wont be on here for a while we have had a NIGHTMARE with the school !

After the meeting Monday, and us e mailing the school to thank them for their time and that we looked forward to meeting then again next tuesday...... yesterday I found scrunched up in Elouises school bag, in no enverlope... a letter from the head teacher.

As I type I am crying, its so shocking... she said we were abusive and aggressive and that we have been reported to the Governors ( which this bullys parents are BOTH on) and the teaching unions! That as I have broken conficentially that I can no longer help vlountary with any school business!
Personally I am devasted, and shocked.

I know I cant proove we did not shout etc, but we didnt honestly!
I dont even know what "confidentialy" i have broken..

I have been on the phone to the police to report the assult ( who were very good but cos the kids are under 10 there isnt much they can do buy "log" the incident)
I have phoned the council ( im waiting for them to get back) I have asked for a council rep to be present at the meeting on Tuesday, as I dont want things being twisted again.
I have phoned the other local school to make arrangements to view their school next tuesday. As I feel I have no confidence in the school structure and the head, who has LIED about the meeting and wont or cant quantify what we have actually done.

I feel so lost and scared for Elouise, she is so not aware of all this and we are trying to keep her happy and well adjusted.

On a side note the "bully" pulled another little girls hair so bad in the playground yesterday she had to be sent home, as she was so upset and her head was so sore.

Thank you for letting me express all this, believe me before this incident I thought all teachers were trustworthy honest and proffesional .. how wrong we I !

Linda - I'm sooooo sorry you have to go through all this mess. I believe that you have gotten a lot of good suggestions and advice from your friends here on the boards. The only addition I can make is to tell you to do what you think in your heart is best for Elouise. It's unfortunate that in all this mess she is the one that will have to sacrifice.....by no fault of her own, she will have to give up what is comfortable and familiar to her...either her class or perhaps her school. Maybe you should put that question before the governors........why should Elouise be punished?......what did she do other than show up to school one day to have her world turned upside dow?.....if their answer doesn't suit you, then perhaps finding a new school that will better look out for her and her needs is what you should do. Whatever happens, from one mother to another, I wish you all the best.

I have two things to tell you guys that I think you'll get a big laugh out of...

1) A co-worker of mine has been in Europe and we just received a post card from her yesterday that she sent from Rome. I looked at the postmark which was 08-06-07 and my first thought was, "Wow, she time-traveled...this post card is from the future!"

And then I remembered that the European dating method is different from the US one, and what I thought was August 6, 2007 was actually June 8, 2007.


2) Those of you who've been around for a while know that I've destroyed two pedometers this year by forgetting to take them out of my pants pocket and then laundering them.

Well, my husband is a brave man. When I came home from work Monday we decided to go take a walk and as we were leaving he handed me a new one (this makes 3 in 6 months). But as a precautionary measure he took a picture of it, printed it out, and taped it to the washing machine to help jog my memory!

Karen did you do the rides at the top of the stratosphear?...bloody hell i kept looking down and thinking "did i check my shoot,and then thinking WHAT BLOODY SHOOT ".....Not for the faint hearted.....

I did the roller coaster (pretty tame) and the Drop Zone one (that was a lot of fun) but I couldnt get myself to the one that looks like a Teeter Totter off teh side of the building - it just about made me sick. But a friend of mine did it and he loved it.

Lindy love she's shifting the blame away from HER own failing as a head teacher,it's her word against yours..

Did anyone else hear you or Wayne shouting?

How did you get on with the deputy head,did she complain?

Speak with the other bullied child mother

This matter cannot be dealt with while this kids parents are still on the governing body,call for them to step down

Ask other parents about any problems they've had with this child or the daft cow who's incharge and get her bloody removed while your at it as she clearly ain't up to the job she's being paid to do.....

Try not to let this get you down and keep smiling kid....

Once the Head bust into tears and the other person took over - have they complained too or just the cry baby head? Was anyone else in the room?

If anyone else was present or in the next room etc ask them to confirm they heard no shouting.

I would get all the facts written down on paper so its clear in your head - write down exactly what happened, what was said etc, her responses and have it ready so you go in with amunition (sp) and you dont get flustered (or bullied) at the next meeting.

The next meeting should have the education dept involved. Do NOT go to a meeting of the school and the governers unless you have a representative with you.

I agree that the parents should not be "Governers" and should be required to step down until this matter is resolved if not for good. If you are being put "on trial" for defending your child against a bully then thay should give you the right to a "fair trial" and not one biased by the parents.

I agree with Chris - you need to get evidence of other incidents when this child has physically harmed another child. See if those parents are willing to write a letter stating what happened. They dont have to do more than that, just the facts written down and approx dates.

There must be an incident/accident book in E's school. Ask to look at this and see if the incident was logged - and any others too! If this childs name is popping up time and time again then he obviously needs to be dealt with.

Have you tried ringing the education dept of your council or even citizens advice bureau? They may be able to point you in the right direction regarding who could attend the next meeting with you. There should be an independant and non biased person there.

Also, take a dictaphone with you and press record prior to going into the meeting - leave it near the top of your bag, just out of sight, speaker up and place your bag on the table. If they try to say you were abusive or aggressive next time you'll have it all on tape. This will not hold up as evidence in court, but hey its worth its weight in gold as they cant pretend they didnt say something or acuse you of saying something, and its great for going over what was said cos you'll forget half of it by the time you come out of the meeting.

The trouble is now things have escalated to this extent the Head teachers will probably not give you a fair hearing over anything in the future. You'll be labelled as "trouble" parents. I hate to be negative, but I worked in a school for 3 years and its true.

Will their teacher make a statement stating that this child is physical to others? What about other teachers?

If you have discussed this with anyone else at school - even if its just school friends in the playground, other parents etc then they can say you have broken the confidentiality agreement of the school. Of course you are going to rant to friends about what has happened. They know this so they have you over a barrell.

It sounds like the other parents are very influential in the school and you've drawn the short straw..

As I said before, I would want to see the incident book and this childs school records to be looked at - they wont show you these, but the child needs to be assessed by a specialist who will have access to these records.
Wait til you are in the meeting and with a non-biased person before you ask for this. If they prior knowledge they may be able to "doctor" the incident records.

At the next meeting, stick to your guns, dont be intimidated and try to stay polite, rational and as calm as possible. Whatever you do dont raise your voice.

If this child has learning difficulties he needs re-assessing urgently. The fact that he's physical at such a young age is very worrying. He is a danger and needs to be assessed by a special needs advisor before he gets older and stronger and can cause a serious injury.

OH MY GOD! i am now very angry - this type of abuse is completely uncalled for......i want to get on an airplane and go and shake some people up.

i cant remember - is this a public school or a private school. If its public, do you have the ability to go to another school? In canada, if you want to go to Public you must attend the one in your area (that is why housing prices varies so much based on the school's results on the standardized tests).

I can't believe you have to put up with this Bulls*it.

I agree - here are my suggestions for waht they are worth:

1. call a lawyer and ensure you know your rights as a parent
2. you have broken confidentiallity now - so go for it. Talk to other parents off school grounds. You dont need to tell details of what happened to her but ask if they know of incidents relating to that boy
3. talk with Elouise - its important that she knows what is happening from you - as she will hear about if through kids or teachers and you want to ensure she has all teh correct info instead of being influenced by people who only know half the story.
