Yep.
Cool!!!

OK, now I'm really leaving work. Be back on after dinner.
Yep.
Any one out there???????????????????????
Maybe we should check on the kids board to see if their parents are alright. I know that at least 2 from WI are on that board. I think Judy and Cheryl's daughters are over there and possibly a couple more.
Yeah, whatever. Liar.It is now after 1:30. I believe lunch time is over.
Guess another Wisconsinite vanishes in to DIS cyberspace.![]()

Nancy....there is figure skating on ESPN or ESPN2 tonight starting at 6:30PM EST. I think it's the pairs freeskate and the men's freeskate tonight, but don't quote me on that.
And that's right...I said figure skating!
It is currently called the US Bank Building. It was originally built as the First Wisconsin (the original bank). Then Star Bank and First WI merged and it was the Firstar Building. Then US Bank bought them out.
Funny thing is that the largest tenent isn't the bank. It is a law firm.
The building is only 40 stories tall. You can imagine we have a pretty sad skyline. There are much prettier buildings that are smaller. The US Bank is just a big rectangle.
May I offer a small correction?? Since I worked for 1st Wisconsin and Firstar Bank for 28 years in that building, I feel I can make this small offer. Star Bank and Firstar Bank merged and kept the Firstar name until US Bank took over. After 28 years I was up on the 40th only once to pick up my Brewers Tickets. Yup!! Only once. No big deal to me.My first day of work was the first day they opened the new building. I even got to see a construction worker fall off the top!! YUCK!!!

When did they change the name of the building? I remember working downtown in 1989 (at a different bank where Suz and I actually met) and me and a co-worker would make a run over to the center because it had the closest convenience store. We always called it the First Wisconsin Building.
I always thought they didn't change the name until they merged with Star bank. Now that I think back, I remember the whole name change thingy.
Anyhow, if you look at wikipedia, it says the building is 42 stories tall. I can tell you that you can only go to floor 40 and that's all that is listed. They must be counting service floors (and fyi, 13 is included in the 40).
I go up on 40 about once a week. Great views. Some days you are in or above the clouds.
omg remember the discution about the us bank building or the previous first star building my mom works there on the 22 floor she works for baird/![]()
I believe the building name changed to the Firstar Center when we switched from First Wisconsin National Bank to Firstar Bank. I also think wikipedia may be including the two floors underground as stories.![]()
I remember when I was young, I rode my bike down with my brother and we went up to the top. I'm not sure if we got off on 40 and then took a stairway up to the observation deck or if 40 was the observation deck. Maybe that is included as well.
What floor is the Galleria considered? Is that floor 1? The bank would then be on Floor 0 and there is also a floor before that as well, or Floor -1.
I think the total height was 641 feet.
Wonder why we never had a building in the last 30 years built taller than that one. They always stop short.![]()
(I'm just catching up on the posts from yesterday & today... I'm afraid I got a little behind)
Afraid not...I'm lucky to get on the elliptical for my 40 minute workout.
Whoa! BIKINI? If you can even say that word, you must be doing pretty good. That's certainly not in my vocabulary.
