I was surprised when Disney decided to make a movie adaption of The Princess Diaries and I never heard of that book before but I think that movie was a big step for Disney to appeal to the teen crowd and when you put Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway in that movie they actually made that movie a hit. I also find it shocking that The Princess Diaries was the first G-rated live-action film in Disney movie history. Judging by the success of The Princess Diaries I think that Disney was gonna do a The Princess Diaries trilogy and that's why The Princess Diaries 2 was made but the third one never was in development. But I think with The Princess Diaries Disney was taking a gamble on because they wanted to appeal to "as I mentioned " older girls and I think Meg Cabot was very proud of Disney for making her book into a movie
