Ok, so here goes..........my DD13 said "no" to peer pressure last night!!!![]()
She went to a friend's house to "hang out" and a boy was there with the girls so the rule is that my DD is not allowed in the friend's bedroom (a girl) to watch movies , or whatever, when boys are there to "hang out." Well, the kids wanted to watch a movie in Dad's friend's room and so my DD said, "I am not allowed, so I will sit out front (in the LR) and look at this photo album. they called her a goody-too-shoes and said "Cmon, your parents will never find out." She said no, and she didn't care if we found out because it was wrong to lie to the parents. I was sooooo proud!! Now do not misunderstand...I am no fool. I know that while this was wonderful, there will be many times of questionable judgment on her part. It hasn't been that long since I was a teen too. But for now, I will take this! She even told her friends that it would be especially wrong to lie during Lent! (I've got that Catholic guilt alive and well here in my house!LOL) Of course she told me today that she was just trying to think of any excuse to give them. Like I said, I'll take it!
Once again, thanks y'all for the nice words.......Are we going to have fun on this trip or what?!!!.:group hug:
Well done that girl...shall i tell you the best way to kill stone dead a young hormonal octopus with only words?.....
"MY DADDY IS A MARINE"....It would have worked for me no problem.....
