Ok, so here goes..........my DD13 said "no" to peer pressure last night!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: She went to a friend's house to "hang out" and a boy was there with the girls so the rule is that my DD is not allowed in the friend's bedroom (a girl) to watch movies , or whatever, when boys are there to "hang out." Well, the kids wanted to watch a movie in Dad's friend's room and so my DD said, "I am not allowed, so I will sit out front (in the LR) and look at this photo album. they called her a goody-too-shoes and said "Cmon, your parents will never find out." She said no, and she didn't care if we found out because it was wrong to lie to the parents. I was sooooo proud!! Now do not misunderstand...I am no fool. I know that while this was wonderful, there will be many times of questionable judgment on her part. It hasn't been that long since I was a teen too. But for now, I will take this! She even told her friends that it would be especially wrong to lie during Lent! (I've got that Catholic guilt alive and well here in my house!LOL) Of course she told me today that she was just trying to think of any excuse to give them. Like I said, I'll take it!

Once again, thanks y'all for the nice words.......Are we going to have fun on this trip or what?!!! .:group hug:

Well done that girl...shall i tell you the best way to kill stone dead a young hormonal octopus with only words?.....

And then we wonder why are government has no cash, wasted bloody trip all the way down to heathrow to be told the trip is off because the lady in question has a unwell PET,I had to bite real hard not to ask "how do you think your constituents would feel about wasting THIER CASH?"....You can't make it up can you?....£8,000 in airfares and they have to pay 50% of my contract.....Rant over, right am off to see what Ive missed.....:)

ps...Will anyone ever share the secret of how to post lots of quotes?....

AFEG...it took me years to figure this out, but I have a soft spot for you and your sense of humor so I'm going to clue you in.

If you look at the bottom of each post you'll see three icons in the bottom right-hand corner: the first one is what you use if you only want to quote one post; the second one what you use for multiple quotes.

There is a trick...when you get to the last post that you want to quote you have to click on the first icon...all the others you just click on that middle icon.

There...that's about as clear as coffee grounds, isn't it? ;)

PORN and LIFT VANDALISM i was prepard to let side but SINGING? is just one step too far lady......:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I don't know what you are referring to when you mention porn, unless it is the naughty mud treatment offered at the Vista Spa? :scratchin

OH, yes, my DH has plans of getting "cammied up" and hiding in the bushes when her date takes her home (that is when she starts dating...age 35)

Or sitting at the kitchen table cleaning an M-16 rifle when the date picks her up.....

He and our other Marine friends who have daughters spend much time and energy thinking up scenarios on how to scare the you-know-what out of teenage boys.:lmao: :lmao:

It's almost time for me to get back to "work."

I was wondering if anyone here has ever used fondant for cake decorating and if so, how do you figure out how much you actually need to use?

To make it even more confusing, I don't need it for a cake but for something else that I wanted to try for my niece's birthday next month.

Thanks in advance just in case anyone has any experience or suggestions.

Brenda :flower3:

Paige - kudos to your daughter! :thumbsup2

I have a funny story...

I had been cleaning up the bathrooms yesterday, and later on commented on how dry my hands are. Katie, my ever so smart 5 year old, chimes in that her hands are sooo soft, and wanted to know why mine were dry. I explained that cleansers really make my hands dry. She said she was never going to clean! So, I asked her if she expected her mom to just come over when she's older to clean her toilets! Ha-ha! I told her that I didn't call my mom demanding she cleans my toilets when she comes over! Hi Mom, love ya, now go clean! So, Katie has it all planned out!

Hi everybody. Just trying to get a feel for this group. I am happy to be one of the Wisconsin Cheeseheads on this cruise. I assume most of us are going then because of Teacher's Convention. Am I right about this? DS Teddy will be 10 and DS Zachary will be 5 when we cruise. The other night before dinner Teddy said, "Man, I can't wait for all that lobster and crab and shrimp!" I thought he was talking about dinner that night, but he said, "No--on the cruise!!" And I thought I was the only one in our family already dreaming about the food. :thumbsup2

Hi Victoria, welcome:wave2:

We're from NY.... no special time off here.
We just choose that time because it was the only time my BF and I could
get time off together. My DS(will be 17) will be missing a week of his senior
year.

Love your DIS name. Love wine, oh and margaritas too! And.....well lots of other drinks to try out on the cruise.
Loved a BBC on our last cruise....something with Baileys and Banana and Coconut too. Yummy! I can't wait for that!

Oh, I have to post once more. It will be my 200th! I WAY have to catch up with everyone else:hyper:

Hi Victoria. My daughter Elouise will be 5 , so maybe your sons might buddy up with her for a bit... shes a boyish girl if you know what I mean. Shes a tought cookie who is use to playing with older boys. We have no other kids, but our best friends live next door but one and often their 10 yr son and Elouise joke others they are brother and sister. !

Brenda thanks for mulity quote thing I will try tomorrow when im not too tired. off to bed now...............................:grouphug:

You guys want to hear something funny?

I'm convinced that all those hormone treatments I had last summer (coupled with my continued prescription pain medication addiction - ;) ) have been responsible for the slow, insidious erosion of my IQ, and now I have proof!

Last Friday at work a friend was asking me about Jay's nieces and nephews and I couldn't remember the name of his sister's youngest son (who is nearly three years old). My mind was a blank - as if someone had rubbed an eraser over it.

That evening I was telling Jason about my mental lapse and he was laughing at me...but would you guys believe I still couldn't remember what the heck that little guy's name is?!?

My husband, being the kind soul that he is, wouldn't tell me or even give me a hint, so I spent the weekend referring to our youngest nephew as "The Boy" until the lightbulb went back on last night.

Samuel. His name is Samuel. :headache:

I think "The Boy" is funnier.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

PS. Who are you people? ;)

Ha! At least you have an excuse....I'm just like that all the time without medications. Now if I could be put on medication I could do much better.
My DS and I are both very ADHD, we've both been on and off meds and trying to do without for health reasons, but I swear I can't get anything done anymore, can't remember anything without writing it down.
Oh, well, luckily since my DS and I are so much alike we understand each other all too well.

Now, my poor BF.....he can't keep up with us. We drive him crazy.
Especially when we change subjects like every other moment.

My DS came home with a funny joke about it:
Q: "How many ADHD'ers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?"

R: "How many?"

Q: "HEY! Want to go ride a bike?????!!!!!!!"

I kill threads all the time...I post something and then everyone goes quiet and I'm left scratching my butt wondering what I said wrong. :lmao:

It's been quiet here today... and no one is acknowleding my geode. Nancy, I think I do need to D.I.D.

You guys are not thread killers....I have been trying to log on, but my DH, DD and DS11 were all trying to figure out how to load music onto my DS11's MP3. Well, after many mumbled curse words by my DH, they figured out that the ones they bought on iTunes wasn't the same format as the MP3. I tried to help, but I made it worse. Long story short....I really WANTED to read your posts, I just had to get past some computer hogs......

Now I am here with nothing good to say...........

OH, wait, I thought of something.....

I made our reservations for the night before and the night after the cruise yesterday! :cool1: :cool1: It makes it a little more real. We are staying at the Radisson. I hope it is ok. It looks like it has a nice pool area.

Brenda, just read your latest installment of your trip report. Great stuff!

I hate to sound mushy, because I am anything but mushy, but y'all make a cute couple. That was a nice pic of the two of you.:)

Well Brenda, maybe if you quit "scratching your butt", we'd hang around a little more. :lmao:

Note to self, don't ever shake hands with Brenda. :rotfl2:

Darn it! I forgot to look. Will I still be alive during the next one?:scratchin

If your dead before the next one, I think you will be dead before the cruise. I thought there was suppose to be 2 this year.

It is the Solar eclipses that happen very seldom (or was that the "total eclipse of the heart"?)
