Oh, Nancy, I hope that pic didn't give the wrong impression. I can think of nothing worst than sewage backup....and in a basement no less! At least my folks didn't have a basement. (No onew back home has one because of the low elevation.) The smell was horrible with all the mud in the house, but an actual sewage backup must have been beyond horrible. And my parents were lucky to have a good bit of insurance; their house is fine now.

I always worry about posting too much "me, me, me" and I fear I may have done it again. I hope I didn't offend anyone or make anyone think I was trying to compare "losses." To me, something like that is bad for anyone who had to suffer through it, whether it be a result of weather or a burst pipe-the loss is still hard. Sorry if I put my foot in my mouth.

Paige...please, please don't feel bad. My "digressing" was because when something like Katrina happened to others, it made me feel like mine was just a walk in the park. And compared to them it was. I didn't feel at all like you were comparing, were offensive, or put your foot in your mouth. We were all just having a friendly chat about "poopie messes".

You have nothing to fear on this thread. We ALL like poking fun at each other and none of it is taken seriously. It's always hard to read posts when you are missing the "tone" or the "wink-wink" in which it is said. I think things get misconceived that way.

So here's a great big  from me to you!!

Gosh, what a lots of reading to do, I hope ive caught up OK?

Paige, keeping you in our thoughts, regarding your Dad. Special "dust stuff" to him. pixiedust: pixiedust:

As for worrying about us here, we are the nicest bunch of people who do not judge others, in any way shape or form. We all " natter" on,:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: ( me the most i expect) but thats what this place is for. To share our joys, our worries, our thoughts etc. Thats what makes the DIS so cool,:disrocks: and our thread very magical, cos we havent had any "awkardness" like other threads. No ..... :stir:

Robin, hope you are feeling better?:wizard: :grouphug:

Karen I did a trip report from the 4 night cruise I will try and do a link. It isnt that good, it was my first one, but I hope it helped out others with ideas etc, as I read alot of others trippies before we cruised.

Chris...... Man U .............. dont we just love them !!!

Didnt win a thing on the dog racing, but had a great night out..... a meal, a few drinks and a real giggle. i kept souting "come on 3 and 5" dont know why really, but it seemed the thing to do !! Even "Leggy Lin" lost.... now with a name like that I had to back it, it was sure to win?????? ..................... not !

Karen I cant get the link to copy. But my trip report is Beauty and the Beast ( & lindy loo too) its on the trip report thread.

Wonder why it wont link ? :confused3 oh well PC stuff was never my best topic!

If anyone does the me me me thing its me me me :lmao: :lmao: - I just type like I chat - whatever rubbish pops into my head pops onto the thread. See...there I GO AGAIN - WAFFLING IS MY HOBBY:lmao:

Thanks for the kinds words, all. You know how it is, you type something and hit send, then when you go back and read it, you feel like you sound stupid, or mean, or crazy!:scared: Nancy, I think you are right about the "wink-wink" thing. I don't normally get offended by things others write as much as I re-read my posts and say, "Wow, I sound like a total b^#^h!"

I think i need to start posting more of just the crazy happy ramblings that I experience in my life, because when I read mine, I seem like this incredibly negative person. And really I am not like that at all.

Ok, so here goes..........my DD13 said "no" to peer pressure last night!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: She went to a friend's house to "hang out" and a boy was there with the girls so the rule is that my DD is not allowed in the friend's bedroom (a girl) to watch movies , or whatever, when boys are there to "hang out." Well, the kids wanted to watch a movie in DD's friend's room and so my DD said, "I am not allowed, so I will sit out front (in the LR) and look at this photo album. they called her a goody-too-shoes and said "C'mon, your parents will never find out." She said no, and she didn't care if we found out because it was wrong to lie to the parents. I was sooooo proud!! Now do not misunderstand...I am no fool. I know that while this was wonderful, there will be many times of questionable judgment on her part. It hasn't been that long since I was a teen too. But for now, I will take this! She even told her friends that it would be especially wrong to lie during Lent! (I've got that Catholic guilt alive and well here in my house!LOL) Of course she told me today that she was just trying to think of any excuse to give them. Like I said, I'll take it!

Once again, thanks y'all for the nice words.......Are we going to have fun on this trip or what?!!! .:grouphug:

Paige, you don't sound negative to me in any of the posts you've made here. And let me tell you...I'm probably the biggest Negative Nellie around (it's a gift) so I'd definitely pick up on it. ;)

Good for your DD, by the way. That's got to make you feel good. :goodvibes

Now why don't you go on over to the argle-bargle and leave me a negative post? That way my artistic ego will be stroked and I will think that someone here on the DIS is actually reading my stuff. :rotfl:

B. :goodvibes

Thanks for clearing that up Cass. :goodvibes

Good morning all !

Paige you are not negative at all. and now you should be so proud of your daughter, it s hard not to follow the crowd when you are a teenagers ( or infact at any time of your life) She must have a great sense of worth and self respect. Also a strong bond with her parents. :thumbsup2 Elouise is not quite 4 yet and I know she has given me moments of concern...... about boys !!!:rotfl2: promising to marry 3 boys from her class !:rotfl:

Nancy love the quote, how true!

Thoses naughty smilies, it s soooo confusing when you et to know where they are and then they move ! :confused3

Dust stuff to you all pixiedust: pixiedust:

:hippie: There she is!

:scratchin Isn't this guy cute?
:crazy2: And him?
::yes:: Ohhh, gotta love this one.
:hyper: Sweet!

Can you tell I'm once again avoiding my bike??

Paige - you must be very proud of your daughter - well done to her - its not easy at that age to stick up for yourself and what you believe in. I had terrible peer pressure to smoke - every one of my firends used to call me a wuss for not smoking but just hearing my Dad every morning coughing and spluttering made me determined not to follow the crowd so a big well done to her. Youre obviously doing a great job as a mum:thumbsup2

Hi Lindy - Just back from the gym.

I'll look up your trippie - thank you:cool1:

I agree, there is a fab bunch of people on this cruise. No-one is mean spirited like on the main site - geez - anyone would think it was world peace they were discussing not what to wear on formal night.:confused3 Talking of which - do you all think a bikini, mini skirt and flip flops would be ok:confused3 :lmao: - and thats just for Neil!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Not all of us are asleep Linda. Did you forget about Nocturnal Nancy??:wave2:

I think Chris said he would be gone for a few days again. Something about Female Turkish Dwarfs?:scratchin

Have a great day all. Since I ate too much yesterday, (again) I'd better jump onto that bike. It's creeping up behind me. :moped: (Closest thing I can find to a bike smilie).

Hey Karen, now that Jeff is no longer coming with us, maybe Neil could get his Borat Swimsuit and wear that on formal night. He could always add a bow tie you know.:lmao:

Yeah, not all of us are asleep!

Some of us look like zombies...:crazy2:

Cass - hope you catch up on your sleep soon.

Now Chris in the Borat outfit.....hmmm....wonder if Hazel has thought of this one to get him back for loosing out on the other two holidays?

Did anyone see the lunar eclipse on Saturday. It was beautiful. Any stargazers out there that could talk us through a star watch whilst were on-board?

Heather

Darn it! I forgot to look. Will I still be alive during the next one?:scratchin

And then we wonder why are government has no cash, wasted bloody trip all the way down to heathrow to be told the trip is off because the lady in question has a unwell PET,I had to bite real hard not to ask "how do you think your constituents would feel about wasting THIER CASH?"....You can't make it up can you?....£8,000 in airfares and they have to pay 50% of my contract.....Rant over, right am off to see what Ive missed.....:)

ps...Will anyone ever share the secret of how to post lots of quotes?....

Nancy and Paige (and anyone else who can't carry a tune) I have a truly terrible idea.

All that talk of poor singing has inspired me to launch...

The Conked Krooners

If Chris doesn't toss me overboard because I've made him wait an extra ten minutes for an elevator he'll be sure to feed me to the fishies when he hears our talented group of singers!

Who will Kroon with me? :rotfl2:

PORN and LIFT VANDALISM i was prepard to let side but SINGING? is just one step too far lady......:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Before Sams we stopped at Best Buy to pick up a new DVD/VCR recorder. That rang up at about $280.00! I really need to get my home movies off of VHS and onto DVD if I want to watch them when I'm old and gray. (No wise guy comments on that one Mr Chris):lmao:

Would i?,in fact i find it refreshing to know that when i get "older" me and Hazel may still be making "videos"
:rolleyes1...Nancy you go girl:woohoo:,and chuck keep up the good work you old devil you:banana:
