Hi Karen! Yes - the title is a Simpson's quote and I used it because no other title I came up with on my own really captured the entire 10 day span of our trip. Argle-Bargle means argument, or dispute, and Foofarah means a great fuss or disturbance over something fairly insignificant. It's just another way for me to poke fun at the whole trip report process as well as Jay, myself, my parents, and eveything else under the sun. Some people are just waaaaaaaay too serious - we're just trying to lighten the mood. ;)

We considered two other titles, The Cheesesteak Incident, Declassified and Plankton Conquers the World but we rejected them both as too narrow.

Thanks again for reading! :goodvibes QUOTE]

Thank you Brenda:thumbsup2 - now I understand. I would take great care of Plankton if I were you. I have heard that Chris has a mean toss (overboard) when it comes to lightweights. I would make him a lifejacket if I were you;) :rotfl: :rotfl:
By the way,...when I first read your alternatives I misread and read it as "cheesecake incident - oooooh I thought - porn cheesecake piccies to follow in near installment... how sad was I when I re-read:sad1:

I think I'll pass on the krooners:lmao: - you really dont want me singing:scared1:

Cass - Maybe Kira isnt safe either:cutie: - she'll have to spend the whole holiday with me ok Cass, just so I can keep her safe of course - nothing to do with kissing those cute cheeks or anything:rolleyes1

Heather - he actually thought i'd thrown it over myself:eek: - how stupid ARE men???:confused3

Karen, if you are a bad singer then you must join the Krooners...that's the only criteria for being a member. Well, that, and being on the cruise of course! ;)

Just wondering if anyone apart from our famous Author has done a trippie in the past. I would love to read them if you have - please post a link. I attempted one once last Easter - my first attempt called "Cheesecake and Mickey". Not too good compared to others (mention no names;) )but it has some nice photos in it - I love looking at photos - you get to share someones holiday:goodvibes

Anyway - I would love to read your trippies so get posting those links:cool1:

Karen - have a look on the DIBB for mine.
Heather

PS - my fav chocolate is Maltesers!

Abby,

You were asking about your message on the Yahoo site the other day. Now that I look at it, I wonder if only the Moderators can post messages. Karen? Brenda? M.I.A Jeff?...anyone remember what Kevin told us? For some reason I think I recall him saying that no messages would be allowed. Sure wish I could find my email from him. Maybe I'll send him a PM tonight.:surfweb:

Just checked the Yahoo Group settings:

There have been a number of questions on this, so thought I would copy and paste the instructions again.

We will need to know before we leave for the Cruise, how many gifts to bring with us!

OK Oh Master Hall Monitor..Here are the rules of DIStag (should we choose to play) stolen straight from the Molar Express:

All DIStag participants will purchase a small gift from their hometown to give to all taggers. We will receive a spread sheet at our first DISmeet (time and place still to be determined) made up by your's truly. In addition to the spread sheet you will receive some sort of magnet. The list will look something like this:

JLDSMD Jeff Cabin 1234
cntkg1 Nancy Cabin 6576
oybolshoi Brenda Cabin 6580
LindyLoo Linda Cabin 4321
etc.....

You will start with the person listed directly below your name. Deliver your "gift" and leave the magnet at the top of their cabin door. Should your "gift" be too large to fit in the 'fish mail holder', locate any Stateroom Host/ess and request they take your gift directly into the room. When someone leaves you a gift and the magnet, deliver your surprise and received magnet to the next person on your list-and so on. When you get to the last person 'participating' at the bottom of the page (LindyLoo in our example)...start at the top of the list (JLDSMD). Continue until you get to the person listed above YOUR name.

So if I've still managed to confuse you, this is the skinny of it all...

Jeff takes one of his gifts and his magnet. He tags Nancy's door with the magnet and puts his gift on the 'fish mail holder'. Now he waits until someone tags him. He will take that new magnet and a new gift and tag Brenda's door. He waits again until he gets tagged and then tags Linda's door and leaves behind a gift.

So this means if we have 20 DISers who want to play tag, we will each have to bring 20 little gifts.

We have all week to play and we'd probably cut it off on Thursday. Any leftover gifts at that point can just be left on fish mail holders without tagging with the magnets.

When we played this on our other cruise the gifts were anything from personalized pencils, bumper stickers, candy, yummy hometown recipes (Yorkshire pudding mmmmm), keychains, playing cards etc.... Most were packed in gift baggies and labeled with the name of the DISer who left it behind.

It really was tons of fun (for us anyway) and we only ran into one snag. One DISer's entire family got sick and he had to bail on us halfway through the game. We all just continued on anyway without the magnets.

Thanks Heather for posting that!

We'll need to have a cut-off date for signup on tag to allow those cruisers who will be leaving home early to plan appropriately.

My tentative suggestion is three weeks prior to cruise departure date, but I'm open to suggestions...

Nancy and Paige (and anyone else who can't carry a tune) I have a truly terrible idea.

All that talk of poor singing has inspired me to launch...

The Konked Krooners

If Chris doesn't toss me overboard because I've made him wait an extra ten minutes for an elevator he'll be sure to feed me to the fishies when he hears our talented group of singers!

Who will Kroon with me? :rotfl2:

With plenty of alcohol and no dogs within earshot to start howling at me, I guess I can join this group! Uh, bring your earplugs everyone...........:scared:

Thanks Nancy. That would explain it! At least I know I'm not Yahoo-challenged. ;)

I've taken the liberty of changing the group status...

Everyone who is a member of the group now has the ability to post messages - I'm sorry for the confusion because I didn't realize that we hadn't changed that yet.

Thanks for the heads up Heather - you are in top form today! :thumbsup2

Go forth and post! :goodvibes

Hmmm...I'm no technical genius. I checked the invite list and it shows that I emailed you an invitation to join...

what's happening when you try to sign into the group on Yahoo?

Just wondering if anyone apart from our famous Author has done a trippie in the past. I would love to read them if you have - please post a link.

Karen,

I posted a LIVE trippie during our October 2005 trip to WDW and DCL. It's a huge post, I believe it ended up over 53 pages long (a LOT of great DISers posted replies!) and can be hard to get through if you don't want to read all the replies but it has pics and well, it was lots of fun!!!

Here's the link:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=935126

It was actually the last Live Trip Report permitted on the Theme Parks Board, as right after I started it the mods decided to move all the live reports to the Trip Report Board (the live stuff used to be posted on the Theme Parks Board)

We really enjoyed writing it, and it's amazing who actually reads these things...for instance one night on the cruise, we saw the Captain standing all alone so I asked if I could get a picture of him and Rob. Just after the photo, he turns to Rob and says, "So how many hits do you have now???" :rotfl2:
He had been reading my trippie since before we boarded the ship!!! :lmao:

About the strollers, yes I have seen the one that changes into the seat. It looked a little weird to me. We are spending 10 days at WDW before the cruise and she will be spending a lot of time in a stroller so I think we may be bringing her big one from home. That way she can lay down and nap during the day!

Hey dyerneeds - your membership went through! I just checked the site again and you are on the list. :thumbsup2

now i have to spray down the keyboard with lysol so i dont get sick.

can you tell i have a sick wife. im using up the whole page myself.
i watched our cruise videos today while on the treadmill. walt and di and cass and rob, can you believe its been nearly a year and ahalf since our last cruise. time flies. hope we get a dry sailaway party this time.
we were hoping to get our disney "fix" this summer at wdw but robin just started a new job in jan and couldnt get time off. we were lucky they let her have the week in oct for the cruise.
so here i am with 32 years on my job with 6 weeks vacation and cant go anywhere. i can always babysit the new grandaughter

Nancy...will you go post something on my TR so that I feel like someone actually read it? I'm like Martin Prince at Show and Tell... "My geode must be acknowledged." :lmao: :lmao: It's a Simpsons reference...I can't seem to stop them.

All joking aside...did I "SIU" (Smart It Up) too much on these installments?

Done! And you SIU'd just perfectly! Heck if I can understand it all, anyone can.:)

Thank you Heather. I believe with Jeff leaving us (:sad1: ) there is another opening for a Hall Monitor.

Thanks Heather for posting that!

Sounds good to me too.

I can't remember why I quoted this one. I don't have anything to say now!:lmao:

I digress. :guilty:

Oh, Nancy, I hope that pic didn't give the wrong impression. I can think of nothing worst than sewage backup....and in a basement no less! At least my folks didn't have a basement. (No onew back home has one because of the low elevation.) The smell was horrible with all the mud in the house, but an actual sewage backup must have been beyond horrible. And my parents were lucky to have a good bit of insurance; their house is fine now.

I always worry about posting too much "me, me, me" and I fear I may have done it again. I hope I didn't offend anyone or make anyone think I was trying to compare "losses." To me, something like that is bad for anyone who had to suffer through it, whether it be a result of weather or a burst pipe-the loss is still hard. Sorry if I put my foot in my mouth.

I'm up for krooning...after a few "drinks of the day" that is. We will have to fight my DH for mic...........He qualifies as a Konked Krooner. He thinks he can sing, but I am afraid he is wrong.:lmao:

Holy cow, did I ever spend the money this weekend!! I made Chuck drop me off at home and had him take my car so I can't go anywhere to spend more. I must have had a dream that I won the lottery or something.

I'm sitting here putting entries into my checkbook and munching on the two pound container of Mangos I found at Sams Club. I just dropped $300.00 there. We decided to buy snorkel equipment for the cruise because it was phenomenally priced! $39.00 for mask, snorkel, fins, bag, and quick release thingamabob by Body Glove. Bought 6 of those. Guess what the kids are getting for their birthdays?

Now that leaves me with two brand new snorkel sets I bought last year without fins and bag for $26.00 each. Yup, those will be on eBay by the end of the day.

Before Sams we stopped at Best Buy to pick up a new DVD/VCR recorder. That rang up at about $280.00! I really need to get my home movies off of VHS and onto DVD if I want to watch them when I'm old and gray. (No wise guy comments on that one Mr Chris):lmao:

Side note: I really should send them all to Canada. I know a film editor up there who does an amazing job! I have about 30 VHS tapes of home videos since 1986 and she could probably have them recorded on one DVD. One DVD that people might even want to watch!! (Hear that Cass??)

$60.00 for printer cartridges, $230.00 on medicine for Chuck and I, and groceries.

YIKES!! I spend it like I got it!! Somebody..stop me!!

Oh Paige I am sure no-one took offence - dont worry:hug:

If anyone does the me me me thing its me me me :lmao: :lmao: - I just type like I chat - whatever rubbish pops into my head pops onto the thread. See...there I GO AGAIN - WAFFLING IS MY HOBBY:lmao:

I agree - at least 3 weeks cut off for the tag gifts so we can get them sorted and squeezed into the suitcaes.

I second Heather for hall monitor - in fact " a Chief Hall Monitor":lmao: - at least someone might know what they are doing then cos I certainly dont - no offence other monitors - you're doing a grand job :thumbsup2 - its just me on the sidelines hiding my monitor badge and looking in thinking everyone else is computer literate:lmao:

Hi Mike - hope Robin is better soon - please pass on my best wishes and give her a  from all of us.

Cass - I will peruse your live trippie this week - I love reading about others holidays - passes the time til our own rolls round:banana:

I have just been playing a really annoyingly addictive hen and chicken game off Shockwave.com - I'm gonna have to go back on it to play some more.

Goodnight everyone, have a great tomorrow:wave2:
