Just had news on and heard about the Twisters, in the USA.

Hope you guys and your families are safe? Thinking of you all.

My heart goes out to the families who have lost people in the tragic roof situation. How terribly sad.

Big big hug to you all :grouphug:

Oh i might just chuck myself at all of the guys !;)

Swoon swoon....

Just got a reply from Brenda ( I PMed her to check she was Ok ) who is OK but the weather is very bad there and yesterday she was stuck on the highway for a while cos of weather. Soon very scarey to me.

We went to Marmaris Turkey a few years ago, and in the night I woke up sunddenly to watch my ring and watch fall of the bedside cabinet. I was dazed and as I sat up the floor rumbled. We were in an earth quake. I woke Wayne with a yell, while putting my trainers on. ( I dont know why i did this, but I think at the time I thought a bomb had gone off and there would be glass) Wayne said it was an earthquake and dragged me out the building with just towels to cover ourselves. It was chaos.
We got out and there were all the locals driving in their cars out of town, as we all stood around looking in the sky. cos wayne and I had made friends with another couple who were firefighters, the 2 guys went back ito the buidling to hlp older people out. i stayed with the woman fire fighter who was telling us all where to stand. Wayne and this guy carried 6 people out, and then I dont know why but I said to him to go back to our room for my Perfume (Angel... .which we had just got duty free) ad for some knickers and my mobile... you can guess his reply!
we were with Airtours who were useless, and didnt even have an accurate head count!!! The fire fighters were sorting more out in the first few hours. We were then offered flights home or to move to another hotel, as ours was " unsafe"... you bet it was, we were on the ground floor and we had a massive crack from floor to ceiling in the wall of our room!

We decided to stay on for the rest of the holiday, but all the tourists ad locals still slept outside around the pool at night. It was weird like a "war.... Blitz" stiuation. From just nods a round the pool, we all became great friends, leanding each other t shirts, Mobiles etc and keeping an eye on suitcases etc. If I can I will find you the funniest picture of me ever... .camping out on a sun lounger at night, warming myself by a fire, drinking apple tea with the locals, and a goat!!! :rotfl:

Lindy loo....:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:.....Brown underwear required if we ever go back to Marmaris then, the only problem I'd have their is how to grab both kids under my arms and keep holding my towel up at the same time:scared1: ,i remember being on one of the first planes to come into the new doncaster airport when we suddenly dropped about 500 feet and the chap at the side of me starts screaming "were gonna die, were gonna die" and young woman at the other side of me started sobbing it was all so unreal until the captain came on and said we'd hit an air pocket but everything was fine now,it seemed like it lasted minutes but it must really have been only seconds, but i still had the time to whisper to the bloke at the side of me "you'll die now if you dont shut up" his face was a picture....:rotfl2:

ps...Please buy up all the ANGEL stuff at the airport so thiers nothing left for Hazel as that's the only perfume she'll wear....:rolleyes1

Hazel has great taste then! :thumbsup2

I love Angel it smells divine and always makes me feel so good!

When I go to London I always go Harrods ,the counter there as they have limited edition bottles. I got a great oe a few years ago in a star, balancing on a silver stand. Wayne thought it wasnt too pricey at £16, till i said thats just for the stand , you doughnut.!!! :rotfl: Now I always stock up in Harrods, or at the airport.

Ive always been cool with flyng, until i had Elouise, now I really dont like taking off or landing, and I have an "escape" route planned out in my head. I never listened to the air hostess with the lifejacket thing etc etc..... blah blah blah, now im the one READING the safety card found in the pocket of the chair in front. :lmao:

I bought Hazel (she told where to go in harv's and what to ask for:rotfl2: )a big like hat box thing with loads of different stuff in it,all angel....but i have to say it does smell very well....:rolleyes1

Lindy loo have you ever flown into gibraltar :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: not as bad as it once was but i still always go for a darker colored underwear when flying into Gib.....as you go from 10,000 feet to ground in about 15 seconds....:rotfl2:

PrincessMom2002, Disgrits, and KarenMouse: It looks like we are going to have some great playmates for our boys on the cruise! Thanks!

LindyLoo: Now we know who will be chasing sweet little Elouise around! She is adorable!

Oybolshoi: We're practically neighbors! I live in St. Peters, Missouri!

Michelle

Gosh - Hadnt heard about the weather in US. Havent seen any news today at all (mind you I never watch it - too depressing) so I hope you guys are all right.

Ok Lindy - I am now on a mission to smell Angel - never smelt it - mmmmm, maybe a mothers day hint is required - it could go something like......"Neil, I want Angel perfume for mothers day!" - do you think its subtle enough?:confused3 , any subtler and he doesnt pick up on hints. Once I made his sandwiches and instead of ham/beef or whatever in one of them I put a note inside with a list of what I wanted:lmao: - it worked!

We remember waking up once about 3am in our own bed and both sitting up watching the end of our bed swaying:eek: - nope - we hadnt been drinking it was an earthquake in Brum!
At this point maybe I should also mention the whole downstairs of our house was flooded a couple of years ago when the tornado went over Birmingham. Not either of the neighbours - just ours:rolleyes: - hows that for bad luck. Insurance paid up quickly though.

Chris - my very first flight was to Corfu. I had on a white dress and peachy coloured cardigan thing. Why am I telling you this? Well.... it wasnt white for long. Take off - no problem... then a bit of air turbulance - didnt bother me - thought it was normal - first ever flight remember....then they served drinks.... I took one sip of my red wine and wham! - huge air pocket and my drink landed all over me - dripping down my neck, over my arms and of course on my lovely new white dress. I had a red stain a foot wide from neck to knees.:sad2: Ok, I can laugh about it now - 20+ years later but at the time but I have never felt so stupid in all my life. No-one else on the plane had taken a drink at that moment. Ok, a few drinks were spilled so a few little stains on the bottoms of peoples legs etc but ooooohhhh noooo, not like me.

My boyfriend at the time actually said...no word of a lie ...and I quote "what did you do that for?"......... Of course ...I had no choice but to kill him there and then and I have only just got out of the corfu prison system.:rolleyes1 Ok, the killing bit was a lie but the rest - all true:sad2: . Even on the way home people on the plane were telling me to not order red wine:lmao: .

Also been on a plane in Paris and sat on the tarmac for about 7 hours. We got de-iced (ever done this?) - its really quite wierd - they put a big crane type boom over the plane and squirt shaving foam all over it - ok..ok. it probably WASNT really shaving foam but you get the picture. We could see it all dripping down the windows. Then you have an alloted time to taxi and take off before the stuff freezes and your engines seize!:scared1: We had people screaming and praying and doing the rosary etc. I personally thought it was quite exciting! Dint bother me in the least.

Oh yes - and our plane has been struck by lightening once - not much to write home about though - the people on the other side of the plane didnt even know til the captain announced it on the tannoy. We just saw a flash outside.

Arent you glad you're not on our flight:rolleyes1

Oh yeah! - just thought of another one - we went on a "mini cruise" from Cyprus to Egypt - Mini cruise my *** - more like mini hell hole. Anyway I digress... a couple of years later my hubby is watching tv and yells for me to come and look quickly - there on tv is the ship sinking!:lmao: - they got everyone off in plenty of time etc but still...made me laugh.

Are you all still happy to cruise with me now?:rolleyes1

Loved the bit about your dress:rotfl2: poor Hazel had to enjour stuff coming from the top and bottom doors when we took the twins away when they were only 11 months old to Spain all because their arrogant, ignorant over sensitive father wouldn't allow his children to be put in what the aircrew called "sky cots"...and for anyone who's suffered from cold sweets and nightmares through having prem babies they looked far too much like coffins for my liking so i flatly refused to the point that we had one each on are lap the whole way home at which point little posie pee decided to chuck up all over her mum and then thought what fun it would to deposit a brown mike shake on mums lap,how did i get to be holding Ryan and not Rosie you may ask?,just call it a fathers intuition or the fact Rosie asks "are we there yet" when were on are way to the local supermarket.....:rolleyes1

Have a great weekend and people over the pond stay warm and safe....won't be on much as am away again next week (no Brenda not the dwarf, female this time) and have loads of stuff to sort...:)

ps...And think on page two will not be tolerated....:rotfl2:

Rose (Scouter), I was able to edit your DIStag entry to include Sean. I also added a note that he is your son on the greenpants entry. Maybe only the Moderators (Hall Monitors) can edit. :confused3 All I did was go to the "Actions" prompt on the DIStag screen and chose "edit". That brought up your info and I added Sean that way. Do you plan on playing tag as a family or will Sean be on his own?

Thanks Nancy...... you know....I don't know? What do you think? Do most people do it as a family or by room? We've never played before.
Sorry.....appreciate any thoughts you have .......

Heard about the terrible storm yesterday. Is everyone (US) OK?

Linda - Can't wait to see Twice Charmed. We haven't seen this one yet.

Big big hug to you all :grouphug:

Thanks for asking Heather and Linda. WE are fine. No tornadoes in Wisconsin. We did, however, get slammed with snow, ice, wind, rain, sleet, more snow, more wind...etc!!

Oh, oh...looks like Missouri is closing in on Wisconsin!

Karen, we had our basement flooded too. Over 5 feet of raw sewage!! Lost everything in our basement. The US government (FEMA) gave us a check for $3000.00 and our insurance company gave us only $1000.00. That left us with over $22,000 more in damage that wasn't covered. Our basement pipes burst with such force that the toilet was found wedged into the side of the furnace which was about 15 feet away!! We moved two years later. After one month in the new house, we went on a WDW vacation and came back to find that we lost power during a storm and as a result had 5 inches (far cry from 5 feet!) in the basement. That time we were smart enough to upgrade our homeowner's insurance and everything was covered. Good way to clean out a few basements huh??:rolleyes1

Rose, I think if you are planning on playing tag, then you should do it as a family. It's much easier that way. Have you read the "tag" post? Post #1909 Page 128 of this thread. If you have any questions, please ask.

Have a great weekend and people over the pond stay warm and safe....won't be on much as am away again next week (no Brenda not the dwarf, female this time) and have loads of stuff to sort...:) QUOTE]

A female dwarf? :lmao:

:lmao: Oh, I can barely wait to hear about this one!:lmao:

Abby,

You were asking about your message on the Yahoo site the other day. Now that I look at it, I wonder if only the Moderators can post messages. Karen? Brenda? M.I.A Jeff?...anyone remember what Kevin told us? For some reason I think I recall him saying that no messages would be allowed. Sure wish I could find my email from him. Maybe I'll send him a PM tonight.:surfweb:

I wonder if we're supposed to do something with the yahoo settings? In the Molar Express group we were all able to post messages so I don't see why all members couldn't do that in this group as well. We can always play with it and see what happens.

FYI, Nancy and anyone else who wants to read - I managed to post an update to the Argle-Bargle. Hope it meets with your exacting standards! ;)

Morning all !!!

Karen, we did the mini cruise to Egypt and Israel from Cyprus too ! What a night mare.... thankfully nothing like DCL!!! didnt know the boat had sunk..............:confused3 not surprised though.... glad all got off ok.

When abroad you do wonder about safety standards dont you. Im very happy with Disney, I think they take it how it shouold be taken, very seriously!

Nancy, how many people are on for Distag now? Im getting worried we wont be able to get enough room in our suitcases to play. Can we make a few simple guidlines? Like gift must be small or consumable.... otherwise our cases off the cruise will be bursting. On our last cruise we swopped gifts with about 4 other Dissers, but they were soooo generous to Elouise, we had a bag stuffed full of treats. We had a very generous baggage allowance with Virgin then of 64 kgs per person! We were ON the limit on the way home. Its now been cut to 46kgs per person, or you pay big bucks to get stuff back to the UK !

Been practicing kickboxing again this morning, my hand is sore, where Elouise has been using it for a kicking pad! Guess for Mothers day i should ask for some pads! :rotfl:

Angel is lovely, its is a strong type of perfume, not for everyone, either you love or hate it. It has a strong undertone of chocolate! :) I like it cos alot of lighter perfumes wear off me very quickly, Opium and Angel stay all day.

Im off dag racing toight ( Greyhound racing) with work. We go for a 3 course meal, free bar :yay: and £10 of free racing bets... all for nothing!
Should be fun...... Wayne keeps telling me to bet on the dog who does a poo before the race.. .cos he's lighter, so can run faster :rotfl2:

:scared1: OMG, Nancy! That's horrible. I can't even imagine all that work and cost too. I'd be devastated. I'm so glad that you we able to get past all that and now have better home owners insurance too.

You sure know how to start someone's morning!! Thanks for not D.I.D!! (refer to a previous PM from you to me about your Falalalalafofarah thread).:dance3:
