**October 2016 Check-in!**

I took both my kids at the young age of 2 and they did better then we expected! No melt downs and pamper changes are easily done in the stroller. My daughter was in love with the characters which was something we never expected our shy 2 year old to embrace so that alone was magical and so fun watching her fill up her signature book. You guys are going to have so much fun!

Ah that makes me feel better. I'm not sure what I'm more nervous about- the flight or the park visits. This will be his first flight, luckily it's just under 2.5 hours and it's non stop. He's quite shy and still has some stranger danger so I'm hoping over the next couple months we turn a small corner ;)

Update, I booked my hotel today Yay:cheer2: We will be staying at The Double Tree Anaheim Orange. Planning to go to MHP as well as soon as tickets go on sale.party:

We just changed our vacation time to October 2nd to October 15. It's just my husband and myself. We will be staying at Holiday Inn Anaheim. I know we will be hitting one Halloween party.

I just ordered personalized Halloween themed iron on transfers to make up Disney t-shirts for our trip. I got them for myself and my sons. Once I complete the shirts I will show them to DH and ask if he wants to be a part of the one day we will be wearing them (DS's birthday). I don't think he'll go for it, which is why I'm not spending anything on making him one now! I mean it's not expensive or anything, and it would be no problem to make one up for him closer to the trip. I hope they turn out well!

On another note, earlier this week when I called in to make a payment on the DLR package I booked through Costco, I was told that the entire reservation system was down and I should call back later. A few hours later I received an e-mail that said I had an entirely new reservation number for our package. It is now just 8 digits, not the Y-and then 7 digits. I thought to myself, "Am I now lucky enough to have a 'regular' DLR reservation number and now I can make payments toward my package online?" Bingo! I tried it today and why yes! It worked! In the past a res number that started with a letter would not work online for payments and I always had to call. But now I am 'regular' and can pay with credit or gift cards online! Just thought I'd mention it for anyone else who booked through Costco.

Happy planning everyone!

OMG! We're going on October 15 as well! :D

Btw, anyone here knows if PTN will "close" in september?

Did the MHP dates affect anyone's original itinerary? It occurs on the day before, and the day after my birthday. And of course, they're the most expensive dates :( . I'm going to have work a few changes in... yuck.
Agreed. I don't have any kids but have a huge family with nieces/nephews 0-10 age range. The only reason I even go is to help capture their experience on camera for family.

BTW I live 10 minutes from DLR and was born in Anaheim.. For me at my age, the hotels are a fun way to feel as though I'm a tourist in the area.. If anybody has any curiosities or bad experiences with amenities/service/staff these things are of interest to me. Eventually I'd love to check out every motel, hotel, RV park, whatever people do to have fun in their own way. I can enjoy being a haggardly road-warrior or enjoying a sip of wine at a nice hotel. I have a lot of pride in my hometown and enjoy seeing people from out-of-town have fun in their own ways. I hate it when people did not have fun, regardless of where they were.

BTW felice I've been there like twice this week just bugging the staff about details for my upcoming birthday. I'm pushing them to the MAX to help me out on my event. Are you getting the basic studio suite or the 1 BR standard suite? These guys will feed you breakfast, and even dinner-appetizers & drinks for free. Don't forget to grab some cleaning supplies. The floor is likely to get dirty while you're there and they won't clean for you during the week.

We're just going for the basic studio suite - have had one of those before on numerous occasions and have found them to be OK. Not sure where you get your story from about the cleaning - during the week it is possible for the room to be cleaned every day. On a weekend this maybe doesn't happen until later in the day, but the floors have remained fairly spotless while we've been there. No complaints at all.

The story came directly from the staff, which told me to bring my own cleaning supplies. You get light touch-up every day, but no actual cleaning of the kitchen, living room, bedrooms/bathrooms- that's once-per week. It's probably more of a problem if you have a large party.
Did you find the beds to be comfortable? I heard one complaint about the beds being too stiff.

Any word on whether they're going to lift the Hyperspace Mountain overlay after summer?? I hope not, because we'll be there for 2 days now, Oct 28-29 and my boyfriend would be so bummed if so!!! (PS, if OP would like to update the first check in post, we're official for the 28-29 now!! :D)

The blog states it will be Ghost Galaxy for the Halloween season.

Thanks for your response. I do know it's not located on Harbor Blvd. We're not rope drop people so, it should be fine for us. Thanks for your input!:o
We've stayed there. It's not worth it. At all. HOJO all the way. Take an uber if you don't want to walk its worth it.

We're coming from North Dakota for a wedding in San Diego...so we're absolutely cramming in as much time as possible! We're trying out the SoCal Citypass, so we don't get to do the Halloween Party, but still going to be at DLR the night of the 17th-19th :) Now that dates are released, thinking seeing WOC at DCA Monday night, then DL all day Tuesday, then DCA again Wednesday! Staying at the Travelodge north of the parks...super duper excited!
Will you have a car? For our dlr days we usually do no car and stay on harbor Blvd in walking distance. Then you can rent a car right before you go to sd.

I don't know if I mentioned this but it helps us to watch lots of you tubes of rides & charcters before we go.

We are actually flying into Phoenix to visit family then driving over to CA, Legoland Monday (they're closed T-W in October:crazy2: but that led to us deciding to do DLR:lovestruc) then driving to Anaheim Mon evening and then DLR T-W. we're staying at the Travelodge just north of the park (well parking lot kind of :) )
Thank you for the ideas though, last time I went I had no car and it was enjoyable walking but definitely lots more walking!

82 day's to go! I just paid off our trip this morning out of pure excitement. Not sure the husband was ready for that lol :rotfl2:

we get to buy our halloween party tix tomorrow -- it will be the time to decided -- one party or two parties? one party or two?
