October 2014

We will be there Oct 18-25, 2014. Staying at AKL with our 8 yo granddaughter! Then the next week at Universal, Discovery Cove and Seaworld.:dance3:

I just booked my tip today for October 2-9, 2014! I am SO glad to find others planning so far ahead! My reasons are two fold: (1) I am only going through with the trip as reward if I meet my weight loss goal before the final payment date. (2) I need lots of time to pay the balance down, a little each paycheck. ;)

Due to finances, I haven't been "home" since December 2009, and I'm going out of my mind. Even though it's conditional on my wllpower, and still 14 months away, just knowing that I FINALLY have a trip booked is suuuuch a relief! :goodvibes

Oh! And this will also be my first SOLO trip! (Unless somebody decides they want to join me. lol.)

Wahoo! DH said we can go in October 2014! We're looking at the last week of October. Never been that time of year, so can anyone chime in and let me know what we can expect for weather and crowds? pixiedust:

Hi, we are planning to go Oct 26th to either Nov 2 or 5th. It's me my, DH, and 3 DD. We haven't been to DW since 2006 and I'm working hard to save that money and hopefully book by October this year. Hoping our dates in 2014 are free dining dates or a good room discount. It's expensive for the five us, especially since we have to fly :(

So glad you started this thread my poor DH is getting sick of me talking about it already. He needs some Disney magic.

Just booked yesterday Wilderness Lodge October 12-23!!! My DH doesn't get why I need to book this early!;) Need someone's opinion...We always stay at a moderate resort, which is fine, but I decided to splurge and go for WL! This REALLY makes my frugal side nervous. I have the money already saved so it's not like we can't afford it, but I keep thinking I could spend it on new carpets, a fun weekend getaway, several new outfits, etc... Anyways, 430 days to go!!!!!

My DH is the same way. I feel that once it's booked it's going to happen for sure and we can't back out. Since moving from VA to Las Vegas we have only gone once in 2005. We've been to DL many times but its not the same.

I would absolutely stay at WL, I would love to stay there but there's 5 of us and no matter how much I would love to stay to stay at the Contemporary or the Poly we just can't afford it and will probably stay at POR.

I'm unofficially joining as well... Unofficially because I'm currently planning our "test run" to Disney in January... But I'm hoping to go Oct 31st until Nov 7th... Nov 2nd is my oldest daughter's 10th birthday and the 7th is her dad's birthday so why not make it a long vacation! Since we are also doing my son's birthday in January I have a feeling March '15 we will be back to celebrate the middle daughter's birthday (I'm excited!)

I don't know if this will help but... we went the second week in October and it was record high heat and humidity. We wore tanks and shorts the whole time. I loved it (my kind of weather) DH...not so much. Just make sure to check weather reports starting ten days out. Over the weekend the crowds were high, but during the week it was low. Short wait times on most rides (except for Toy Story Mania :() Check weather websites for yearly temperature highs and lows to give you an idea of what's normal. Go to Easywdw.com for crowd level calendars. It will help you plan what park to go to and when.

Just booked for CSR for Oct 9-13, 2014. We just left WDW on Jun 2 so we are wanting to try another time of the year. DH and I visited last year in late Sept and enjoyed it so bringing or 13yr old DD with us this time. Can't wait to take her to her first MNSSHP!

im pricing my vacation now because we havent booked yet and I think we have decided on dates... i do need some advice though. I have decided on Oct 25th- Nov 2nd (maybe changing it to Oct 24th) and I was just wondering how many ppl get the full 10 day ticket if they were going for 10 days or do you cut it down and take rest days? Obvioulsly I know we will need to rest lol. I was thinking 6 or 7 day tix and then adding wp&m. My other question was: now they have the PH and wp&m at a discounted price..... anyone use this?
Right now we are booked at POR. Hubby wants to stay at Poly BUT I know it will be wayyyy more money. I am not sure if 10 days is even worth it... it seems like a looooong trip! Thoughts? Our kids will be 6 and 10
so for the 9 days arriving on sat staying thru sun with 7 day wp&m and PH at POR is $3300
10 days arriving on friday and staying thru sunday with 10 day wp7m and PH at POR its 3689

both those prices are of course w/o dining with I can always add.... hoping for FDing though

We are 99% sure on dates now (Oct 19-24) vs going a couple of weeks before xmas. Have pretty much nailed down that we will be staying at Wilderness Lodge, and then if the discounts aren't as nice as hoped will move to AoA or one of the Port Orleans resorts.

It's going to be crazy, DH, myself, and the kids (4 & 3) and possibly my mom & stepdad and my MIL & FIL-each couple only coming for about 3 days vs our 6. We think. I have to find out soon if I'm booking everyone's or if we are booking separately, and how long everyone is going. My ILs want to stay off site and my mom refuses to do off site, so planning for ADRs, schedules, etc will be insane. I'm hoping everyone will kind of do their own thing and meet up for special events (ADRs, MNSSHP, Pirates & Pals cruise).

We are planning to go from Oct 18-25. We are planning staying the first night in a value resort the switching over to either the Beach or Yacht for the rest of the trip

I knew I couldn't be the only one! lol. I'm planning our October 2014 trip, even if DH refuses to speak to me about it till we are 200 days out. Hoping for Oct 4-13, but it will depend on DSs school calendar. Otherwise, we will be there the 11-19. I love Disney in October! Can't wait to do MNSSHP again.

So we just decided today that we're sure we want to go back to Disney in October of 2014. We've never done Food and Wine, and we've also never gone to the MNSSHP.:cool1: We're also going to add on 3 Universal days because I think I read the new Harry Potter section of the park will be open by then (don't quote me on that one).

I thought I'd be the only nut who would be planning this early and would have to start the thread. I should have known better;).

I don't have Facebook but so many of the planning groups are on Facebook these days that I think I will make an account just for Disney planning stuff. So if you see Pigletto with zero pictures and no friends signing up.. that's me:lmao:
