October 2013!

 Sorry. I hope everyone is okay. Look at the bright side, though. Next October, all of Fantasyland will be complete, and the magic bands, FP+ and the new mug system will be up and running with all of the kinks worked out. :goodvibes

Everything is fine, actually! The reason for the cancelation is probably the best reason there could be at this time...my boyfriend FINALLY got the call to go to the Academy for the New York State Department of Corrections. This is a humongous career move for him and basically this is what he's (we've) been waiting on to take the next step with everything...engagament, marriage, new house, etc. I know he's breathing easier now that he knows when he's going. In less than a year he'll be making almost double what I do now (and that's not anything to scoff at!) He's reporting to the Academy in September for 2 months.

So I've been looking on the bright side all morning, to help myself from being too upset. We'll have much more money to spend, we'll be able to go for a longer time (2 weeks!), we'll be there for my 30th birthday (10/13/14), we'll be there with 3 other couples who are very close friends of ours, it's MUCH more likely I'll be getting my in-front-of-the-castle proposal that I've always wanted and I have much more time to drop about 50 lbs that I've been trying to! And as far as the parks are concerned, I'll be very happy to see Fantasyland in it's completed splendor instead of seeing the Seven Dwarf's Mine Train in construction. I don't think I'm a huge fan of the FP+ system, but as far as everything else goes, I'm excited!

October 2014 has MUCH better benefits than October 2013...the only downside is that we have to wait an entire year longer than we already were!

I'm curious now that it's been brought up...what do you (and everyone else) think of the FP+ system??

That's awesome news! As for FP+, I think I am going to like it as long as it is easy to figure out. It will eliminate the need to hit the parks first thing in the morning before they run out of FPs for some of the bigger rides like TSM or Soarin'. I am not one to complain about something without even trying it first, so until I use it, I'm good with it. :goodvibes

I agree! I don't really like to complain about much in the first place (I try to be a positive person in all aspects!), but my concern with FP+ is that it seems like everything has to be much too "planned out". I am a big planner for the most part, but I don't want to have to plan what days I'm planning to ride certain rides (this is my understanding of the system, but maybe I'm wrong?) I'm sure this is a discussion on a separate thread...LOL

Congratulations on your boyfriend's training - and yes, your trip next year sounds like it'll be amazing!!

Down to 95 days until our trip to WDW. Longtime vet, and former cast member, but haven't been the last couple of years. Ready for some fun. Waiting on hotels right now. Going to see what the AP discounts are, and see if we want to go that route or stay off site with a hotel employee rate.

Getting more and more excited as the days pass. So close to the three month
mark I can smell it! :lmao: Reserved DD spot for BBB so she is super excited
about that. She was also really excited to find out that she could dress like
a princess every single day if she wanted. hahaha. :rotfl2:

YAY!!! We moved our trip to Oct/Nov! I got a pin code so we had our choice of dates and now we can stay an extra day because DD has time off from school!
This will be our first Halloween trip Can't wait!

My boyfriend and I will be taking a trip in October. We booked over a month ago when I received a free dining pin. This will be our first trip together and the first time staying on site at an "official" disney hotel. Last time I went with my family we stayed at the dolphin. Can't wait to see MK all done up in its halloween attire. :)

Awesome first couple trip! You're going to have an wonderful time :) I can't wait for October!!

Booked this morning! Two nights at ASMu, one day of park tickets. Need to buy our MNSSHP tickets still, but that can wait another week or two until I get my summer bonus. Still haven't decided on a hotel near the convention center for the music festival, but I feel better knowing our Disney room is waiting for us!

We will be going down this October! We will hit up the MNSSHP one night and then one afternoon the kiddos will be hanging out with their aunt and uncle why the DH and I hit up the food and wine festival!

75 days to go!!! Itinerary done...outfits planned...F&W menu items picked...ADR booked (BOG score!)...the wait is killing me. How do you pass the time waiting?

My Mom just surprised me (nothing special, just a text with a picture of her ticker)!!! We're going to Walt Disney World October 2nd - October 11th for my 22nd birthday. We'll actually be there ON my birthday which is October 5th too. I cried when I got the text. I'm so happy. We were down there for my 21st birthday last year and it was so magical and wonderful. I'm so glad I get the chance to have another magical birthday!!! :cloud9:

63 days to go!!! :woohoo:

Congrats, she will love it! Every year it's magical, even at older ages its a different experience every time. We are planning the week of Oct 19th.

What a nice mommy! Have fun!

Still fussing. Canceled our 10/21 dinner reservation at Kona and got a lunch at 2:30 on the 20th. We'll eat and then head over to the halloween party at 4.

Now trying to decide what to do about dinner on the 21st. According to the park hours, DHS closes at 7. I'd like to have a nice sit down dinner after a full day in the parks (i'm not sure I've ever done open to close at a park in either of my trips!) but I am so turned off by dinner prices. (That's why we moved Kona. We can eat for half as much $ if we do lunch.)
