October 2013 - Car Rental

I just booked Firefly for Oct 13-20. Got a compact for $114 including taxes. I called the 800-777-5500 number on their web site and got Advantage car rental. Advantage is off site not in the terminal. How do any of you know that it will be in the terminal? I do not want to use a shuttle.

Weird on web site says a hertz company.

I got oct 23- 30 $114.00 for compact

I was able to book Oct 5-12 - Ford Focus or similar - $114.51.

Thought I'd throw this out there. I reserved a minivan from Dollar for Oct. 26-30 for $225. I was messing around on orbitz and checked rates again. They gave me a Firefly car rental of $158.80 for the same. I asked about Firefly on this board (See other thread) and found out it is a new discount agency belonging to Hertz. It is on site (no shuttle) and apparently is using Hertz's cars. Hasn't opened yet, due to open Sept. 15th. http://www.fireflycarrental.com
See what you come up with for your October rental. I tried all the Hertz CDP codes and coupons (from Mousesavers) and the rate didn't change.

Hope this helps someone. I can't vouch for the company as I just found out about them but it is Hertz.

Mine too! Thanks for posting this, PP! Two weeks for $296 all in for, I guess, midsize (Dodge Avenger?). I prefer full size but theirs is the same price as my National KLM reservation - $110 more. Looking forward to reports.

When I called about being onsite, I was put through to Advantage. They game me a number directly to Firefly. They are owned by Hertz and the person (who sound knowledgable) said there will be onsite pickup sites in both Terminal A & B. At least we all have time to see how things go in September. They open on September 15th,

I just booked firefly too. got $189 for a full size oct 12-19, 8 days. much better than $231 at national although I'm not cancelling either until we get some reviews in september

How is it that I am the only one having trouble getting through to that Firefly site ?? Tried on my ipad and iPhone and it just stops responding once I choose a car and try to book I also tried my daughters laptop with google chrome and it got to the same place and then a warning popped up about it probably is not the site I'm looking for, it says I'm actually reaching a server identified as *.test.edgekey.net.

still not able to book anything - I can select the car, but when I try to complete the rental, the site gets blocked as a *security issue*.

There should be a "proceed anyway" button to take you to the next page.

Their website has an invalid security certificate and as such, most browsers will warn (or prevent you) from visiting their pages.

Their price is reasonably good, but I would be concerned with giving my money to any company that cannot work out how to create a professional web site in this day and age. Hopefully just a glitch but be wary about entering your card details online.

I got it off the Dollar website, it is their save 15% promo. Also. Do not know what time you need your car but I changed my time from 11am to 1030am and the price dropped a significant amount.
