***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

I'm sooooooo excited, all the major things are booked for our October trip. Airline tickets have been purchased, bought our Disney park tickets early because there are rumors they may go up soon, and we have booked our hotel. We are staying offsite at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek. The last time we went we also stayed offsite, but a lot further. This time we will be right next to Disney and the resort looks amazing. We also extended our stay, so instead of a week, we will be there for 9 days!!!!!!

I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait!!!!!!!:dance3:

So the mad rush to Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios...Alot of strategies I read say to get a fastpass and then wait in line anyway...if I'm just planning on riding it once should I just grab a fastpass or wait in line?

We are staying at WBC as well, although it looks like we may just be missing each other, we arrive on the 22nd. We stayed here in Jan and can't wait to use the pools more this time..in fact we added an extra day this time just for that!

We grab a fastpass and then wait in line because we want to ride it twice. But if you want to only ride it once, I'd look at the line and if it's long (which it most likely will be) I'd grab the fastpass for it.

Since they are not doing rope drop at DHS, sometimes they have been letting people in around 8:45. I would try to be at DHS around 8:30 and then ride TSMM first.

Staying off site from oct 14-20! Planning on attending MNSSHP on 10/18....but read an article that is is wise to wait to purchase tickets until you see the long range weather forcast. I am guessing this wouldn't work for dates closer to Halloween but it makes sense as I wouldn't want to attend in the rain. Thoughts? Should be chance it and purchase tickets ahead ?

I am thinking the same thing, only our date is even closer to Halloween. We may just have to chance it, we were planning on going the 26th.

The event happens rain or shine. The rainfall in October for Orlando isn't as bad as the summer months and most of the time storms clear up just as fast as they start. I wouldn't wait for the forecast. If it were up to me, I'd chance it and buy them asap.

Add me and my DN(7) to the list!!!

At AoA October 17-24 with MNSSHP on 10/21! Thinking Tinkerbell and Fairy Mary for costumes :)

Got the trip booked, MNSSHP tickets ordered, BBB booked, CRT and all ADR's booked!!! Now all i need is a free dining offer!!! :thumbsup2

Jumping in......

We're booked for 10/13-10/21. Can not wait!!!! We're staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek for the first time. I never thought I'd stay offsite but BC looks great and considering we're a family of 5 it made the most sense for us.

We're planning on MNSSHP on 10/16. We did the Halloween party about 4 years ago and are so excited to do it again!!!

The next 4 months better fly by!!

I recently stumbled upon a site where you could search historical weather data from 1998-present for the Orlando airport area, and I searched my October trip dates (the 10th to 19th) and according to that site there were only 41 recorded "rain events" in that time span! (I wish I could find it for you....tried Googling it but no luck, I had originally followed a link from either the DIS or AllEars I believe..I'm sure there are other sites that provide similar info). So, while "historical" doesn't exactly guarantee anything, I'd say there's a fairly good chance of getting little to no rain, and purchasing your MNSSHP tickets in advance is probably a safe bet!
Good luck!!

We are checking into WBC the day after you...so make sure everything is ship shape!! :thumbsup2 ;)

We stayed here in Jan and loved it! Can't wait to be back there again with the lovely weather they get in Oct!!

I am so excited. I am going Oct 17th to the 22nd with a group of friends. It will be my first time to WDW. Leaving my husband and kids at home, which is a little sad but I'll just have to shoulder on without them.

Airline ticket is bought and paid for, ADR's are made, CRT reservation is paid, park tickets are purchased, and MNSSHP ticket is paid for. My best friend and I are staying at Pop (she took care of those reservations, just so you don't think that's missing from my itinerary here, lol).

I'm a wee bit excited. I've even already bought my costume, which is a wee bit scary because it is Halloween afterall.

I was wondering if anyone knows if you can use Disney Rewards points for quick service or snacks in the parks?

It looks like we will not be getting free dining based on the emails that have already gone out since we will be there 10/17 - 10/21. We had originally planned on ordering groceries and having breakfasts and lunches in the room, but I would like to be able to get special treats (Dole Whips perhaps :rolleyes1) for the family while we are at the parks. We have already made ADRs for a few table service meals and will be using points for some of those as well. TIA!

You can use the Disney rewards card anywhere that can take cards..........they need to be able to slide it.

The way our weather has been here the past few days, it already feels like October. arg. Anyway, our MNSSHP tickets arrived in the mail today! I was  :woohoo: :cheer2:

I'm planning on Oct 2012 (29 to Nov 5 or maybe longer, lol), and so far, it's the CBR (hoping for AKL, if I can get free dining again). He still doesn't know!!:love:

Oooh, I forgot to add that we'll be at MNSSHP on the 31st. He wants to go (no complaint form me there, lol) and I want to go to the Food and Wine Festival :P

We are official! Heading to CBR from 10/3-10/8! So excited to not only celebrate my Birthday at Disney, but be there for MNSSHP and the food & wine festival! :cool1:

We're heading down October 27th - November 4th! First night on site (still figuring out which property to stay at), next 5 nights at Hilton Orlando and the rest of the trip we're spending with my parents at Coacoa Beach. :)

Sooooooooo ready for Food & Wine! :cloud9:
