***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

I love eating at Kona however they are rarely on schedule so the planned TSM and then wishes is going to be very tight if possible...I'd move dinner up an hour if you can just to be on the safe side. Then you can savor that delicious honey macadamian nut butter and Hawaiian bread:angel:

In looking at Monday, I'm not sure that you will be able to enjoy dinner at Kona and then make it over to MK for Wishes. We love to watch wishes just behind the castle, to the right hand side. Seems like a fairly tight schedule particularly if there is any delay in seating you at Kona. Whatever you decide, Happy Planning! pixiedust:

Might move the reservation up to 6:30 then. I figure at least two hours to get seated, eat, and then make it back to MK via monorail and just grab the best standing area we can around 8:30/8:45.

We're not super-obsessed with finding a good spot for the fireworks. It's the concession you have to make to try to fit as much as you can within your day.

mjallemand u are sooooo organized, ya want to help me make my plans.... I'll take pointers!:thumbsup2

Hah, thanks. When I told my girlfriend I was working on an itinerary she freaked out a bit because she thought I was going to have it down to the minute, including all the attractions at each park and what time we're seeing them.

Last trip we didn't plan at all outside of my sister picking restaurants for ADRs and a general idea of what park we're going to on which day (We just went to them in the order of their opening: Magic Kingdom on our first day, Epcot on our second day, Hollywood Studios on the 3rd, and Animal Kingdom on the 4th, with our last day being a catchup day for anything we missed or wanted to go back and hit a second time.)

Since the last trip was so recent (Nov 2010) we have an idea of what's safe to skip and what's popular (We had no idea about Soarin' or TSM last time.) with the only thing to take into consideration is my girlfriend, who has never been to WDW...so if there's something we want to skip and she wants to ride/see it, her opinion supersede's everybody else's.

She definitely told me she's not interested in any of the tours, so my sister and brother-in-law may go off and do those on their own.

mjallemand -I would be aware it will be crowded when Epcot World Showcase after noon on Friday. From what I understand, Fridays are very busy, especially in World Showcase due to locals coming for the F&W festival.

Are you flying out of the New Orleans airport? I'm from Kenner originally. The other two families I'm going to WDW with are from the NOLA metro area (Covington and Kenner)

eta: But I'll be doing Epcot for Friday dinner on my trip just because it's the only time we can fit in Via Napoli. I'm just prepared to deal with the crowds.

Okay we just did the old switcheroo From ASMo oct 22-29th to AoA little mermaid rooms same dates, whoo hoo!

Urgh, I made the mistake of looking.

Looks like about half of itinerary is gonna run into rough crowds, in particular Friday 10/26, which is our Epcot World Showcase day, and Thursday, which is our Hollywood Studios day. How accurate is this stuff usually?

Here's our latest schedule, if there's anyone out there that gives a care.

Sunday 10/21
  • Depart NO Airport @ 4:30PM
  • Arrive Orlando Airport @ 7:05PM
  • Pop Century Check-In @ Apox. 8PM
  • QSM Dinner Everything Pop @ Aprox. 8:30PM
  • [QSM Remaining: 5/TSM Remaining: 6]

Monday 10/22

  • 7:00PM TSM Dinner @ Kona Cafe
  • 8:30PM Wishes Fireworks @ Magic Kingdom
  • Magic Kingdom EMH til' 12am

Why not stay to watch Wishes at The Poly from the beach then take the boat from there to MK..very romantic and easier to schedule!

  • 6PM La Nouba
  • 7:45PM TSM Dinner @ T-Rex Cafe or Rainforest Cafe

This is our DHS day as well...it's listed as a day to avoid both on TP and easywdw, but we want to see Fantasmic so we will have to brave the crowds this day.

Friday 10/26
  • 9AM Magic Kingdom Rope Drop
  • Keys to the Kingdom Tour (?)
  • 12PM QSM Lunch @ Captain Cook's, Polynesian
  • 12PM Epcot World Showcase

We will be at DTD at some point this day as well. We just might run into each other!

I am comparing easywdw and TP right now. I already had my schedule ready, but I can't stop myself from re evaluating!

Yeah, flying out of Louis Armstrong International Airport. I live in St. Charles Parish and work in New Orleans.

Hmm, I was afraid about the F&W festival making things busy. Maybe I'll switch things around a bit, lets see...

Okay we just did the old switcheroo From ASMo oct 22-29th to AoA little mermaid rooms same dates, whoo hoo!

Sweet, any difference in price?

Okay, y'know what, f*** the crowd calendar. I really like the schedule I made and I'm sticking to it.

Sorry, just the constant rearranging of days was starting to drive me batty.

:lmao:

I don't even really want to look at the crowd calendars. We are staying at YC, so Epcot will be in our backyard and I'm thinking that if I look too closely at it, I'll drive myself crazy wondering. And a good chunk of our dining is at Epcot, so I figure we'll be there pretty much every day. I can't start to worry about crowd levels.

Thursday 10/25
9PM Disney's Hollywood Studios
12PM QSM Lunch @ Studios Catering Company (?)
5PM TSM Dinner @ Hollywood & Vine or Mama Melrose with Fantasmic! Seating Package
7:30PM Fantasmic

This is our DHS day too. Maybe TP and easywdw are on to something here... ;) We are there for Fantasmic! as well so will be braving it too. Our only other choice was Tues but no Fantasmic and we'll probably go to MNSSHP that night anyway. BTW, the corresponding week last year, they added a 9pm Fantasmic! on Thursday so I'm hoping that'll happen again.

Speaking of schedules. You should see what I did to the closet door in my bedroom. (Oh, I can only imagine what you're thinking after that statement.)

Anyhoo...I have different colored index cards. Yellow is breakfast. Purple is lunch. Pink is dinner. Then I have little white ones with the days of our trip. I've taped the white ones up and the colored ones underneath with our tentative plans. How many times do you think I'll be moving those around between now and my ADR day? My husband keeps making jokes about it being time to "change the board."

I'm just doing my best to cut down on transportation, as that takes the most time out of your days.

On our first day we'll be able to take the bus from our resort to Epcot, where we'll rely on the monorail the rest of the day-to take us to dinner at the Polynesian, and then back to the Magic Kingdom for fireworks and EMHs, where we'll then hop back on the bus back to the resort.

Same with the 24th, bus to Magic Kingdom, then without even going into the park we'll jump on the monorail to Grand Floridian for breakfast, then back on the monorail back to the Magic Kingdom until closing and then back on the monorail over to Epcot for EMHs.

And on our last day it'll be a Magic Kingdom morning, monorail over to polynesian for lunch, then monorail over to Epcot for the rest of the day.

Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studio park days are self-contained, with the exception of going to Downtown Disney on our AK day.

Oh I love this. Take a pic for me please! :thumbsup2

I have a question about CRT. I want my DD to experience BBB before we eat at CRT.. should we do lunch or dinner? Are the characters the same for both meal times? The park closes for a MNSSHP that day that we are not attending.

I'll take a picture!

Sorry I can't answer your other question. We are hoping to visit CRT for the first time on our trip and we're planning on breakfast.

We had breakfast at the Contemporary on our last trip. When the bus came we told the driver we had breakfast there and he dropped us off right at the hotel. We were the only people on the bus though because it was early.

I can't believe this thread has been going on for so long and I'm just discovering it.

My family is finally going in October. The last three years, we've said we were going to go in October and always end up changing it to December, but not this year.

We are going from Oct. 30 to Nov 14 and plan on staying @ AoA in The Little Mermaid section.

Can't wait to do both MNSSHP and MVMCP again plus F&W for the first time.

We just found out that our daughter got into the CP so of course we have to come visit her.:cool1: We will be there Oct 23-30 staying off site because we've already used all of our DVC points.
