October 2010 Waitlists

I haven't seen any other October 2010 waitlist threads and I wanted to see who else is on a waitlist for October!

The last time I went to WDW in October was when I was 4 years old. After that, October hasn't been a good time to go on vacation. Well this year it is, so DH and I decided to go to WDW! We're so excited about MNNSHP and the Food and Wine Festival since they're both new to us. We're gonna go to Universal for 2 days and then Disney from October 17 - 24. I knew October was a popular time for DVC, so I wasn't surprised that SSR was the only resort with a studio available all 7 nights. Every other resort only had about 2 or 3 days available here and there during the week.

We're waitlisted the first 3 nights for Kidani savannah view, and the last 3 nights for Jambo savannah view. If one of them comes through, we'll try to add one night at a time from there.

So who else is with me?! How often do you call to see if anything opens up?

October 19 - 22 - currently booked for 2BR - SV at Kidani. Waitlisted for a 2 BR at BCV since the beginning of the 7 month mark.

I'm waitlisted for October 2 at BCV, already have it for the 3rd thru the 8th. I've been on the waitlist since the 7 month window opened 3 months ago.

Wow, I would think a one day waitlist would be easy to come through!

We waitlisted the 17th - 20th at Kidani savannah studio and the 21st - 24th at Jambo savannah studio. We didn't want to bother trying to waitlist the whole 7 nights. But I plan on calling a few times a week just to see what's available. I think Kidani had the 18th, 19th, and 23rd, and Jambo had the 19th, 20th, and 23rd available, which doesn't really help. I figured I'd wait until I can find 2 or 3 consecutive nights at the beginning or end of the trip and waitlist one day at a time from there.

I'm hoping that most people already booked at AKV are really trying for BWV or BCV and their waitlists come through so we can get AKV!

We are waitlisted for 10/7 - 10/77 for the BC and BW. We have a studio now at SSR.

New members who joined 1 1/2 mo ago. DH and I are going for his birthday and to run the F&W 1/2. We're going from Oct.1 - 6. Had us booked all nights at AKV in a 1 bdrm standard view (want that jacuzzi after the run). Waitlisted BWV. Called about Magical Express and the 4 & 5 were available at BWV (preferred studio). Grabbed them. Was going to waitlist the first three nights, but DH really wants to try both resorts, since we haven't stayed at either of them. His birthday, so he gets to pick. We're just going to relax at AKV the first 3 days (rest, run, really rest!), and then go and enjoy F&W for our last two days. We figure AKV is more conducive to just relaxing, so we're going to keep ours the way it is. We were just happy to even get those 2 days at BWV.Good luck to all of you and your wait lists. Maybe I don't want to do it because I know I'd be neurotic about it and check online 10 times a day!

We have a GV at SSR for Oct 19 - 23 and are wait listed for AKV Savannah view and AKV regular view for the entire trip. We have my DSis and her family traveling with us so we don't want to move around during the trip. I check twice a day to see if either of our wait lists have come thru. We love SSR and will be happy there but would really love AKV Good luck to everyone with their wait lists!

Waitlisted at 9 months out for 2 nights in a 2BR at BWV. We were able to get the rest of our days. We booked those same 2 nights at OKW "just in case".

At this point, I am starting to think it isnt going to happen.

Wait listed at BLT, 2 bedroom Oct 2-5th Magic Kingdom view. I have a lock on a 1 bedroom, but found enough other points from AKV changes we made to upgrade. Currently, only the 2nd in Oct is open. I've called a few times and am on the wait list.

Waitlisted for 2 BR L/O BLT for LV Oct 17-23, booked into AKV Kidani 2 BR SV. Not holding my breath for that one....

I'm on a waitlist for an OKW studio Oct 9 & 10. I have reserved the nights of the 11th & 12th. The rooms are there, but they are allotted to CRO (I looked into cash reservation on WDW website).

Once I'm 100% sure I can get off work (right now just 90% sure), I may do a 2nd waitlist for a 1BR or a different resort.

And if those don't come through, I've got fingers crossed for AP rates, and I'll just bank my points!

We have CL Jambo house for 12 & 13 wait listed for 14th and return to CL Jambo house for the 15 and 16th.

We have the 14th at jambo house but not CL. Hopefully it will come through, if not we have to move 3 times while we are there.

We've been waitlisted for 1 night 10/28 for a 2br boardwalk view at BWV...since the 7 month mark(needed 2 pts from my VWL contract)....we already have 10/29 & 10/30.....we also have 2 standard view studios booked from 10/24-10/29.....but would like to move into the 2br 1 day earlier......sending pixi dust that all our waitlists come thru

I couldn't tell by your original post if you wanted to know if any October WLs came though, but I thought I'd share our experience with you.

Originally we had a split stay between BLT for 9/29 - check out 10/3 and then move to AVK-Kidani for 10/3 through 10/7. We checked at the 7 month mark to switch from Kidani, 1BR to BWV, 1BR for 10/3 through 10/7. But we couldn't get 10/3 at either BWV or BLT. So we WL that day for both BLT and BWV. We didn't cancel our AKV reservation at this point as we were not at the banking window. The WL for 10/3 came through at BWV within 3 days. Then we decided to add on more days to the end of our vacation and hoped to stay at BWV, but wanted to switched to studio as part of our party was leaving. We called at the 6 1/2 month mark and no dates were available. We wait listed for BWV for 10/7 - 10/9. Called back two days later to see if another resort was available. And as we spoke to the CM the wait list at BWV came through. We were asking for any view at BWV each time, but it was a preferred garden/pool view that came through both times.

This was our first time wait listing and I think we may have used up all of our pixie dust for years to come.

We are waitlisted for 2 Bedroom SV at Kidani for October 17 - 22. We have OKW booked, been on the waitlist since the 7 month window opened. Not holding my breath, and we love OKW so it will be fine. This waitlist however made us make an offer for a resale add on at AKL. Waiting to hear on ROFR - we are about half way thru the wait!

Currently waitlisting a AKV Jambo SV view studio on October 8. We are in a AKV Jambo Value studio that evening. We currently have a reservation in a AKV Jambo SV view studio from October 2-7 that we're hoping to extend one more night. Hoping for a little pixie dust!

We were on the list for a 1BR Boardwalk View for October 7th, and it CAME through!

I didn't know! I went to check points for an upcoming idea for a trip, and I suddenly realized that I didn't have the number of points that I thought I should have, and that's when I discovered that my waitlist had come through!!



Problem is... that I don't remember how many nights I asked to be waitlisted for LOL. I could have another night come through.

I need to call Member Services and inquire. Also, do I need to request that the reservations be linked so that I don't have to do something stupid like move for a night?
