Oh!! Silly me! No, I meant the DCL bus, we paid the lousy fee, hahaha. I better call her back to make sure we were taking about the same thing! She told me I wouldn't have to go back to the airport to catch the bus.

You don't. Just make sure you hop on the right one.;)

Wow, that is a great deal!!! How about former military? No, I'm joking. I know it is only for active duty. Thanks for sharing.

I know the resort and park tickets (not 100% about the cruise) is for active and retire military. Not sure if you are retired but might be worth looking into.

Yes, the park tickets and such are. I rarely have heard them doing that for the cruises. And no, we aren't even retired. My husband served X-amount years.

It really is convenient. But, if it has round-trip transportation to/from the port that is less than $35 a person each way, I'd jump on it.

I'll have to go dig through the emails to find it, but it's something like $162 after tax for the room and 2 people round trip, then $40 to add Kristie's mini me. That's a few $$ cheaper than the DCL transfer alone.

Hyatt MCO is going for $116 on lastminutetravel.com, plus the $210 for round trip transfer for 3. That's $124 difference for those about to get the calculator. For most folks, that would be a no brainer, but I'm a bit more hard headed than most folks. ;)

Ya, the DCL bus is really hard to spot! ;) :rotfl:

Last cruise (our first), I planned to surprise our DD as we drove over the bridge, where you can see all the ships in port. She though we were going home. I swear it seemed like we passed 40 of those DCL buses on the way, I just knew she would figure it out before we got there.

That's fun. It really fun on the bus listening to all of the kids as they spot the ship.

Usually I will offer a Secret Prize that I have picked a head of time to who ever spots the ship 1st... The few times I have won the prize is usually a couple hundred dollars or a fine antique firearm..

Those times the kids have won, it has been a big hug.. or all the soda they can drink on board the ship. Or a special Pizza party in the room...

One time my bride won and let us just say I am a man of my word and paid off... ..... The lucky girl...

The last few years there has been less enthusiasm to play the game in the car.. But Yet they still all play.

What we've done when we fly in the day before the cruise is to stay at the MCO Hyatt and rent a car for one day for about $40. This also allows us to stop and pick up some adult beverages to carry onto the ship. When we've done this in the past there has never been a drop-off fee or anything for the one-way rental. Then just do the same thing in reverse at the end of the cruise to return to the airport. Just be aware that some car rental companies in Port Canaveral (National, for example) do not have a shuttle to the port. But most of them do. There is a lot of information about this on the mousesavers website.

This trip will be different for us as we are flying in a week before and staying a week after the cruise. So we will have two separate one week car rentals to deal with. Which I have not even begun to book yet. Tomorrow we leave for MI for 10 days, so I will have to get busy and book our rental cars for October when we return.

My friend is trying to book a rental car with a one-way rental but she wants the car for a couple of days while they are at WDW. She says the prices that she is finding are not something she is ready to pay. But, she will find something within her price range I'm sure.

Yummm...had great pizza the other day, and just wondering why Disney doesn't make great pizza too.:sad2:

Surely they can if they want to.

What's up Disney?:confused3

Yes, we have a great pizza place here as well. I have never even thought about having pizza on a Disney cruise. I don't want to know what it taste like :lmao:!

As a Pizza aficionado /connoisseur Pizza and BBQ are some of the most intimate foods you can eat. They can be so personalized to the consumers tastes.. That being said, on the cruise, I think Disney does a great job of a fine middle of the road pizza.. Part of the problem is that Disney's dough(The heart of any pizza) is not fresh but made up and frozen a head of time. But They do a hell of a job hiding that taste . And hey its free.... :lmao:

Good Morning all

Well we are doing our usual Pre cruise routine. Flying into MCO on the 18th taking Magical Express to Old Key West for one night . Next morning we will be picked up by Joanne and Roger then off to Downtown Disney for our traditional Icecream Lunch at Ghirardellis. Then on the way to port we stop at the Disney oulets on the way. Then on to the Comfort Inn at Cocoa Beach and a walk on the beach. Then an evening at the Inn with our cruising friends. Up in the morning and off to port for a 11:00 AM checkin.
