I agree we like staying at the port. I can not wait!

I have a question for those of you that stay at a hotel near the port. I know that most will give you a ride to the port for free, but how do you get there from the airport? That seems like a long ride to get for free (or the cost of a hotel room).

Joining you!! We will be 2 connecting cabins...8 total. My party includes myself, leslie (43) my Mom , Mary my girls Kelsey (16) and Sarah (11) and our friends Traci (43) her girls Ashley(20), Megan (15) and Sophia (10). We would like to join the FE and the FB page too please!

One more thing!

Can anyone please share their Birthday or Anniversary that they'll be celebrating on this cruise....

Last cruise, I made "Happy Birthday" and "Happy Anniversary" magnets and dropped them by doors on their special day along with a bag of treats! They were well received and I would love to do it again. Thanks

Hi there fellow cruisers! I can't remember if I introduced ourselves here or not, but here goes! My DH and I are first time cruisers, very much looking forward to our cruise. We are from Massachusetts, living in America's Hometown - Plymouth. My DH is retired from the USMC, and now enjoying his second career.
I teach Pre-K, which keeps me young! ;) We are SO excited about ths cruise! We share a photography hobby, and like to go out and shoot just about anywhere!
I am on the Dis constantly, and am learning a lt about cruising. I think I need a twelve step program for the Dis! ;) I look forward to meeting some of you, but am unsure where or when. This thread is a bit intimidating to newbies like us, it seems so many of you know each other from previous cruises. BUT, here I am, jumping in and saying hello! Hope to be meeting some of you!? :)

Hi All, myself and DD, 14, will be on this cruise as well. We are first timers on DCL, however we have cruised with HAL 3 times. I somehow, stumbled upon this thread, and so glad that I did. I have read some great information. This will be a surprise cruise for my DD, as she has been wanting to do it for years. She thinks we are just going to WDW. Not sure how much longer I will be able to keep it a secert as I am so excited.

I am trying to be sneaky while working on FE things and I was busted by the kiddo yesterday. I finally told her I saw it on the DIS Boards and wanted to make them for friends and family and had to hand one over to her to play with.

Thanks everyone, for the welcomes and encouragements. We will be doing a few days at WDW first. I am going to try to get her on the DCL transportation bus and let her figure it out from there. We will see if that works.

Questions: Has anyone done or doing the Bernard’s tour? Anyone with teens, have your teens done any of the teen’s only excursions? Weird question, but do the rooms have robes? We are in cat 4E.

Thanks!

 DH (Bill) and I are sailing with y'all.

(:woohoo: Shhhh! We're leaving the kids at home!!! I can't wait!!! :woohoo:)

I can't believe it has taken me this long to start research and getting excited for this trip. Normally, I am already ahead of the game with our stateroom door signs made and transfers made. I need to get working! :scared1:

This will be our sixth Disney cruise. FINALLY, we get our new Gold lanyards. :wizard: We've sailed on the Wonder, Magic & Dream. This will be our first time on the Fantasy. We did this same itinerary on the Magic a few years back. It will be nice to re-visit the ports and do adult excursions. Last time, we focused our excursions more towards what the kids would like. (Butterfly Farm & Coral World) This time, we're doing what WE want to do! ;)

We're traveling with some great friends from the DIS and some Ex-DIS friends. I warn y'all, it will be a rowdy bunch!!! :lmao:

This is what I saw on a recent Navigator . . .

Hi!
I am Jenn and will be cruising with my grandmother Jane on this cruise. It will be our 10th Disney cruise and first on the Fantasy! Is there a fish extender list? We would like to be included. :cool1:

Would it be possible to drop out of the fish extender list please, I've done a little research and due to flying direct from Scotland this year, I'm not sure we have enough extra baggage room. I also have no idea what would be acceptable as gifts, so I think I will give it a miss this year and maybe do more research an consider it again for our next cruise.
Thank you and I hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone. I also hope every one has lots of fun taking part.

Greetings all I had signed up earlier, but sadly work has occupied my time and attention.. But I will be catching up...

Please Sign us up for the Cabin Crawl... we are room 6546.. We will be glad to have some Mickey bars waiting in our room for all when we get there..

What else am I missing...????

Any one else coming from the Sovereign State of Indiana

Mike

Could we sign up for the fish extender? We have 3 kids 3,5, and 6 in cabin 2026 and 2 kids 10 and 13 in cabin 2018. I know there is a lot of us on this thread and there was talk of splitting us up? THANKS!

Sadly I feel like I might have bitten off more than I can chew with regard to the FE's. I hope this doesn't affect anyone that has currently started making gifts, but our family will need to drop out of the exchange.

Thanks so much!

We are on this sailing! Our third cruise!! Oct 2010 on Wonder. oct 2011 on dream and now Oct 2012 on fantasy!!!

DD will be 3
DS will be 5!!!

Is it too late to be added to fee group? Never done it before. Can someone let me know?

Can someone add me to fb groups? I don't have enough posts to private message yet. Kristin Sikorski Marr on fb. My kids are 3 and 5 and this is our 3 rd dcl cruise. Dh Jared is 36 and I am 34. Thanks!!!!!!

This not a complaint just an open thought.. But when I first heard of the Cabanas and what you get I really thought they cost alot for what your were getting. But they seem to be wildly popular..

Anyone have any personal experience with one of these Cabanas.. PROS..?? CONS...??

Im sorry, but what is the status of the fish extender list? Have we finalized that part yet? Thanks:)

Hello all.

In 2009, we had a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise booked. In January 2009, I was laid off and had to cancel. So here we go again - only this time the cruise is so close and I was so excited.

I am in shock right now. I was really looking forward to cruising - but, I lost my job on Friday - so now everything is temporarily on hold. I won't cancel until the last minute. I just need some Pixie Dust right now.

Hey everyone! Just stopping in, because my cruise is finally official! My sister and I will be sailing on the Oct 20th cruise, and we are very excited! We are in #9103 (Cat 11A), and have Second Seating for dinner

Hi, to all of you and WELCOME ABOARD! Sorry I have been MIA but this summer is not turning AT ALL like I had hoped. But I have two cruise within a month of each other, so that helps.

I am sorry to hear that we are losing a few of you. Hopefully, we will meet on another cruise.

I am going to be updating the first page.

For all of you who wish to join the FE, I will add you all to that list.

Let me start on that right now.

I want join in on all of the planning.

I'm going to add the rest in the morning when I can do at a desk top. This laptop keeps jumping and skipping back somewhere else. :confused3

Anyway, I have talked to some folks about where to have the DISmeet, but it is at work. I will put it to you all tomorrow.

Now, I must stop typing before I throw the laptop out the window:lmao:

I was looking at the Wyngate at the airport and it is $210 for a room and round trip to the port.

but how do you get there from the airport?

Rent a vehicle one way, with or without a driver. ;) If no driver then return rental nearby in PC prior to cruise, then use their (or hotel's) shuttle to ship service. On return, repeat in reverse.

I just got a full size, one way, one day, MCO to PC, 8/8 Wed, $42 total.

Must not be any ships leaving Thursday, or they need drivers to bring the cars back to PC.:lmao:

I've been watching the car sites for a while. Although this is the first time I found a great deal like talked about here on the boards. :confused3

Actually I finally reserved our rental for this cruise. Premium, r/t, 8 days, MCO, return Sat 10/27, $ 284 total. That is almost half of what was showing normally, so I booked it. With cars u can always go back and tweak ressie if you find a better deal, unlike DCL.:lmao:

It took me a lot of stalking the sites, but I'm pleased with the results.
Some use Priceline and get great deals. I did not use a bidding site.

HTH

ETA; I'll use Amex car rental insurance coverage. IMO one of the best deals ever. Peace of mind- priceless.;)
So add $25 to those #'s above.

As far as free transportation goes the hotel provides that to port. Our group is staying in the Comfort Inn at Cocoa Beach. They provide a free breakfast and free transportation to port.
Fron the airport I would guess you would have to rent a car.

If you come in at the Airport you can rent a car as I said or you can contact DCL. They have buses that will take you right to port if you are coming in the day we sail.

I hope we can still do our usual walk on Coco Beach. And I need a new hat from Ron Jon's :-) :-)

Sounds like a plan. We are going to leave on Thursday after work. We are hoping to get somewhere in GA and then coming the rest of the way on Friday so we can get there for dinner.

I know this cruise was supposed to be my 40th birthday present from my hubby (A few months late. So, we could sail with friends), but . . .

He surprised me this past week and we have been in Las Vegas!!! This was the first time I have been to Vegas without the kids or being pregnant. We had a blast!!! DH surprised me from beginning to end with this trip. We stayed at the Paris hotel/casino with a magnificent view of the Eiffel Tower and the Bellagio.

View from our room!

My birthday (July 18th) was the highlight of the trip . . . woke up and had breakfast in the concierge lounge that had almost the identical view from our room, gambled a bit at Paris and Caesars Palace, lunch at Paris.

Me smiling pre-gambling at Caesars. DH did better than I did!

The evening was spent at The Venetian.

My birthday @The Venetian.

We had an amazing Italian dinner at a restaurant on their St Marks Square followed by seeing the Blue Man Group.

This show IS amazing!!!

I have to thank my hubby for pulling off this surprise. He did good!!!

What A great surprise

Hi, Everyone. Yes, it's me again. Gosh, I must say that it has been one CRAZY summer so far!!! And school hasn't even started yet! I thought I was going to have a nice pleasant summer with my niece before she head off to college. But, NO. We have been running all over southern California. The problem is, that she is going to be going to one school this fall and another one in the spring if all goes well.

And to make matters even worse, we still have to pay in full yet. Long story there, but to make it short, trying to make sure that the girls will be able to go and when they can go before making final arrangement.

Anyway, my house now just belongs to my husband and me until my niece returns. Oh, and by the way, my husband's niece will be joining us at that time as well!!! WE NEED A BIGGER HOUSE!!!

So, I am going to spend this week catching up with my beloved DISboards.

I am so glad that I popped in last week for a hot minute. I found out that they were having a special on on September cruise. Disneyland annual passholders receive a 25% discount!! I called to see if it would apply to us, and it did!!! We are being refunded $536.00!!! That will pay for someone's flight out to Florida in October.

But, enough of the madness that has be going on around here. I have about 20 pages to catchup on and new folks to say "Howdy" and add to the list. So, I will do that. But, I AM back for the time being SO LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!

Welcome back! Don't you hate when life interfers with Dinesy planning :rotfl2::lmao:

Sounds like a plan. We are going to leave on Thursday after work. We are hoping to get somewhere in GA and then coming the rest of the way on Friday so we can get there for dinner.

No lunch in Giradelli???

I can't wait for my birthday this year!!!! Wdw breakfast at the castle and then board the ship that same afternoon

Jen - Bill needs to have a talk with John before we cruise since my Bday is just after the cruise..Maybe he can give John some hints LOL ;)

You're coming to Vegas next year right?!?!?! It makes me laugh how quickly that trip is coming together. We have crazy (in a good way) friends!!! :rotfl:

Most who fly either stay at the Airport Hilton and use DCL transportation to the port or rent a car and dop it off at the rental office at the port and use their shuttle over to the port. The offices are only a few blocks away.

Are we coming to Vegas? Of Course we are coming to Vegas. We are already planning our extended stay to that weekend.

The SES in Vegas.. Who would have thought it LOL
