I spoke with someone at DCL about where might be a good place to meet for our DISmeet. There were several ideas that she gave me. Does anyone know anything about the Fantasy's layout?
She suggested that we meet midship on deck 12 either Starboard or Portside.
She also suggested D Lounge on Deck 4, Portside entrance, I guess near Shutter's.
Lastly, she suggested the Vista Cafe, I assume on Deck 4 as well.
The for all would be at 3:00pm. I think that this is a good time because most everyone should be onboard by then, have found their staterooms and have eaten lunch. It also gives us a little time before the lifeboat drill.
Any other ideas or suggestions?
Did you have a day in mind to have the Crawl? We have a Navigator Verandah that we would consider adding to the list depending on the day and time.
Any are good with me. 3pm sounds good too. Not too early so hopefully everyone could be there, but still gives us enough time to mingle before the safety drill.
Didn't we sign up? I thought we did.. We have a Navigator as well.
Yes, you did. I missed it. I will add you now.
Even though I was laid off, I am going ahead with my cruise plans so far. I did our check-in on Sunday. We have the 11-11:30 port check-in. I also booked Palo Brunch on Thursday at 12:30 and the Eco Hike for my DH and DD when we are at St. John. DD has almost completed her Masters in Entomology and really wanted to do this. Plus, the trip is a graduation present for her (her first cruise).
I know in St. John we can take the tram to the top of the mountain and that the butterfly farm is within walking distance.
Can anybody please recommend other free, or nearly free things to do in St. John and St. Marten? Where is the closest beach and how do we get to it on both islands? If I am still unemployed or have recently gone back to work, I am going to want to keep spending to a minimum. Thankfully, we have $400 in onboard credit from Disney & Dreams that will cover most of what I have planned so far.
By the time this cruise gets here, I am really going to need it.![]()

Good for you. We took the water taxi to a beach right from the dock at St Maarten. I think it's $6.00 a piece. Take water and snacks with you and save some $$. You have to pay for chairs and umbrella's if you want them or just bring towels to sit on!!
I have a question for those of you that stay at a hotel near the port. I know that most will give you a ride to the port for free, but how do you get there from the airport? That seems like a long ride to get for free (or the cost of a hotel room).
We're onboard! My friend Mary and I are getting away and regrouping for some much needed girl friend time!! I have been on the Magic twice, and can't wait to see the Fantasy! I am hearing so many wonderful things and after all, it's Disney- I'm sure it will be spectacular! Can't wait can't wait can't wait!

As PP mentioned you can have a Port Arrival Time assigned after/during online check in, which I thought everyone, including first timers could already perform. So much for the time passing quickly till Oct 20th.
As PP said once paid in full and at 75 days out, you can book ressies at 12:01 eastern time, then check-in is at 3:01 where you get PAT time. This PAT time slot is related to your actual boarding # assigned at port IF Not using DCL transport.
So if I understand, you will be checking in a few days after 75 days out. So the other 3994 guests could/may obtain a PAT before your party. We also play the CC cycles.
It's OK, not everyone knows to do online check in ASAP. Also even if you show prior to your PAT they won't turn you away unless the terminal is at capacity. If assigned a late PAT time it only means you will have to wait till general boarding is called, which IMO would be around 12:45 - 1:00. Also many try to plan to arrive after open boarding to avoid a crowed terminal. It can get crowed between 11 - 1. The trick for most is to arrive after open boarding and prior to the DCL buses from the resorts, which could start to arrive at 1:30.
Online check-in at 3am has 5 or 6 steps of info required prior to PAT assignment. These included; Guest info(names), ID(passport or DL), Pre / post details(when arriving, where staying, flight #, airline, etc.), Onboard acct. info(using CC or cash), and Accept T&C(check box).
Most skip what they can and edit later. I said cash for OBC, Driver License, etc. etc. just so the page will ungray and open the PAT section.
The reservation section can be done at 12midnight but has a weird quirk. After you select an item for your cart you must click "confirm". Also if you look back at availability the item still shows available to you, but only you. It makes people think "it" didn't take or something. Also DCL site prefers Firefox browser fwiw.
Wow that was long
HTH and Good Luck
Okay, so let's plan to for the first DISmeet at Starboard midship Deck 12 at 3:00pm. How's that?
