Ok Friends - I did it! I was able to talk my DH and Airtran into changing our Oct. 20 flights to the 19th - I was having so much anxiety about flying in the same day. Kuddos to the lady at Airtran for helping me, she was amazing! So, I could use some advice....

We arrive at 3:45 Friday afternoon, 6 of us...do we do 2 rooms at a value, take Disney transfers the next morning? I would like a place with a pool. Do we take a transfer over to Cocoa or the port area and use the hotel to port transfer the next morning? I am new to this and would love to hear what you all think works best for you. Trying to keep costs.

I am so relieved!:cool1: I don't want to miss the boat! Happy Friday! Erin

We have done both. I like staying at the port. You have a relaxing dinner and a few drinks and a relaxing morning. When we stay onsite I want to do to a park for a little while or DTD!!! So it's really up to you. Cocoa beach is really nice for a walk in the afternoon or dusk!!

I wouldn't be driving to WDW if we arrived this late. You wouldn't get there until 5:30-6:00 pm and then in the am you would have to take the tranfer which is an hour away.

We would head to the port, check into a suite hotel (since there are so many of you), grab dinner and hang out by the pool for a few hours. Almost all the hotels have port shuttles. We are staying at Country Inn and Suites for the 2nd time. It is the closest to the port.

You could also stay at MCO at the Hyatt, use the pool, relax and then take the transfer in the am. I have never done this but lots have and I am sure someone here can tell you how that works.

It was a smart move to change your flights. Too many things can go wrong with airlines to chance it.

You will feel much better coming in the day before, If you go to the Orlando Area Hotels options "Dreams Unlimited" offers some very nice hotel options.. with a discount. Buena Vista Suites. have some pretty big 2 room suites.. And a free breakfast in the morning.. Also they have a free shuttle to Disneyland itself... The nice thing of Orlando, Lots of options...

Thanks all! I will update the plans by Monday. Sleeping better tonight knowing we won't miss the boat!

Pre-cruise arrival update: So we decided to stay at AoA:woohoo:, Lion King Suite for now unless we can get a Nemo one. For the 6 of us this is a good deal and we want to try this resort out for the 'feel' before we ever decide to do a WDW vacation there. We decided to stay on Dis property so we can take Grandma over to the Poly to see Wishes for her first time, 9 pm that night. Then straight to bed so we are all ready to go to the port.

Now, I have to decide on DCL transportation or FL Tours or Tiffany something? Of course DCL is pricey, but there is that added sense of security. But now with flying in the day before, we have more time. Any opinions on which transportation I should use from AoA to the Port? If you want to share, thanks a bunch!:)

I personally would reserve privately. We want to be on board ASAP.
Also a stop for fluids and sundries on the way to PC is helpful.
DCL trans from resorts get to PC at best @ 1:30, more likely 2:30 or later.

Could we sign up for the fish extender? We have 3 kids 3,5, and 6 in cabin 2026 and 2 kids 10 and 13 in cabin 2018. I know there is a lot of us on this thread and there was talk of splitting us up? THANKS!

Hi! I'm starting on my FE shopping tomorrow..... Can you tell me the gender of each of the kids in your cabins? Thanks!

All Excursions, Palo and check-in done...

DCL should let you do these things when you PIF, after all they have your money. Shouldn't need to stay up half the night to do it.

I know right. Just finished ours too. Still looking to get DD done up on pirate night, but were good to go. Come on October!

yikes - 1:30 or later:scared1: That is terrible, going to go private for sure! Should I have them pick us up at 10 am from AoA?

haven't been around much but wanted to pop in and say that I hope everyone who was able to book last night snagged what they wanted. I logged in at 11PM last night (central time) and was finished booking dining and excursions in about 15 minutes. Couldn't get the spa villa for a time we wanted so figure we will check on board the ship on the 20th ... if nothing is available we will just keep the cabana massage on CC instead.

logged back in this morning to take care of check-in and we're good with 11AM arrival time. :thumbsup2

If anyone is on the St John's Catamaran & Snorkel be sure to say hello!

89 days to go!! :cool1:
