I was one of the people that braved the cold windy weather to welcome in the Fantasy to NYC. She is beautiful...but now I'm itching for Oct to get here quicker!!!

Why is it that the simple things now seem to become the most difficult? It also makes no sense why that day would be blacked out. It is not a holiday weekend that I am aware of (except for us cruisers ). I would definitely be calling back and raising a stink. Since you know when you called, and it was just a few days ago the supervisor should be able to figure out easily who took the call.

Well this DW called the hotel directly today to cancel the reservation and the hotel reservation manager gave us a stay certificate and apologized for the supervisor from last night and will be pulling the tapes of the call after she heard he told me he couldn't "Just give away the room" and help with the issue. Even went as far to confirm that someone else had booked a stay certificate between the times my DH called originally and then called back that night and then told me he only had a call log from 12:28 on Saturday morning (which I know for sure DH was in a biz meeting and not calling them) implying we never called in.

This was not about saving $50 but the entire customer service experience from this hotel, I would have been happy paying full price had they said from the beginning nothing was available. I still don't know if we will stay there or go with the Hilton I also have booked.

What does every one think of the Fantasy Christening? I was very disappointed. The Dream was much nicer to watch. It was weird seeing all those celebs and I certainly don't get the Mirah Carey as Godmother!!

I hope all is well with everyone. From the looks of the radar the past couple of days, Georgia and northern Florida are getting hammered.

I haven't watched any video yet of the christening, but I wondered why it seemed to me to be less "showy" than that of the Dream last year. Why inside? Why all the celebs?

Do they also have a sample DVC room on ship that shows what an actual room would look like? Or do they just have the reps on board?

Are there any goodies for signing up on the ship?

There are no sample DVC rooms since the decor and size changes with each location. There are DVC reps on every cruise and 3 or 4 presentations during every cruise. The on board promotion offers discounts that cannot be obtained once the cruise ends. if you are interested it is better to buy while on board. At each promotion they have a drawing where they give away a $200 to $300 prize to one attendee. (must be present to win) Last cruise a person who won left early and a new name was wrawn BUMMER for the loser.
We are DVC members since 1993 and have "added on" points several times on prior cruises. Our DD is getting married at WDW in April and is getting a honeymoon present of a week in Hawaii at the new DVC resort as a present for us.

It's been a great week here in Maine.Two days we had 60 degree temps.
When I spoke to you the first part of the week Joanne we still had some snow on the ground. Not any more. I think Spring might be on it's way.

Well the weather man was wrong!! Took the kids to the park at 9 and they were in the pool by noon!!! Roger is outside working on sprinklers and I am watching my alma mater St Bonaventure almost blow it!!! Go Bonnies A-10 finals tomorrow!!!

We are Joanie and Sam from southcentral Pennsylvania. Traveling with friends from the Tampa area. They talked us into Viva Italia in October of last year. Also will be joined by friends we met on that trip as well as their neighbors.

I'll be keeping an eye on planned activities, ect. for this cruise and ideas for excursions.

Im Dan my Dw is Nancy we will be sailing with a group of our cruising friends who we have cruised with before. Joanne and Roger, Leisha and Tommy, Di and Walt, Maryjo and Phil,Julie and her friend,Nancy and Chuck,Leisha Mom and her friend.
