HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLARE !!!!! :jumping1:
AND
HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY !

Heidi lost the internet access because the Indians feel that they should not have internet access. Crazy!! Last time the Indians got involved they lost it for several months. This time it might be 1 or 2 years. They are in the middle of a raise and were to work long days. Now they are not even sure how to do it. The head of the American Indian Movement (AIM) years ago put a contract out on my dad because of his police work. It will be fun to see if Russell Means is behind this.

We are like you Krista. Close to 70's the rest of the week and close to 80's this weekend. Nice!

Denine, I don't need to wear green today. You make me green with envy over all your trips! No corned beef and cabbage here today. We are meeting Heidi's boyfriends sister tonight for dinner. She lives in Florida and has been out here for Spring Break.

Susan is still in trouble with me. cough, cough. Glad that you are doing better Denine. By the way, where is Susan, Bonnie, our star Barb and Sally?

Made corned beef (actually smoked butt), cabbage & potatoes for dinner. My aunt was discharged from the hospital today & picked her up in time for a St. Patrick's Day dinner (since she is a "Driscoll").:bounce:. I am so happy my aunt is home & seems okay (tests still pending).

Bobby is still in Virginia & now is not coming back to New Jersey until Friday:( . I could tell he was upset over the bombing today but a website was set up by the Marine parents so he is communicating with some of the parents since he knows alot of the boys since they would go to his house on the weekends.

Only 17 more days until I leave for California & seeing my daughter, Summer:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc . I can't wait but do I have packing!!!!!!! Then off the plane & on another to New Orleans with Bob. I guess you know I have to pack two different types of underwear:blush:

Well tomorrow all I have to do is provide lunch for the old ladies & cook dinner (I feel like I'm getting off easy). Hope you all have a great week. Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE P.S. Thanks for all the prayes & pixie dust.

Happy Belated Birthday Clare!!!
You're growing up!

Happy Belated St. Pat's everyone.

Nothing new here. Just thought I should say happy b'day!

Corned beef was yummy. Kaleigh enjoyed the potatoes. She didn't eat much of the meat. But, that is why she got a cheese omelet for lunch.

It is the end of the week and my patience knows it. Kaleigh is driving me nuts! She is so smart and notices everything and wont be quiet until she is sure you notice it too. She can point to most of her body parts and pointed to 2 colors for me yesterday. She is trying to say more words every day. She stops dead in her tracks when a DCL commercial comes on and loves the Wiggles and Book of Pooh. ( I am getting a bit tired of Playhouse Disney myself ::yes:: )

If anyone is interested in some cheap trading pins, go to Disney Deals at Ebay stores. You can get 3 of the state pins for $7.99. It isn't an auction, you just buy them. I ordered 2 sets because I am running out of pins to trade.

Jeanne: A little TMI about the undies :earseek: Glad your aunt is doing better.

Bonnie: Hi!

Sandy: Call me stupid, but what do the American Indians have to do with internet access for the government. I don't understand

 to everyone else!

Good Morning

Guess I forgot to post yesterday...Oops

Denine I love the Kaleigh stories. How cute you are creating a Disney fanatic. I wish I had your Disney trip schedule!!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY CLARE!!

Bonnie did you end up babysitting for your ungratful son?

We have rehersal tonight. I am going to work on my costume tomorrow and rehersal most of Saturday. PHEW!!

Barb:smooth:

Good morning all.

Denine, I don't get the Indian thing vs computers either. They just don't think that the govt employees need internet. Call me stupid too. It is fun to read all about Kaleigh. She is growing up fast!

Dinner last night was horrible....food that is. The entertainment was wonderful. It is a restaurant that has real cliff divers, shows, a dark scary cave and puppet shows... all kinds of fun things for kids. It was so much fun watching the 5 kids that we had with us. I found more pixie dust there, too.

Jeanne, at least we know that you CHANGE your underwear! :hyper: Sure wish I could travel like you and Denine. Oh well, only in my dreams! Hey, I found a webshot of 26 pictures of Ron Jon's. Nice pictures and nice resort.

Barb, our star. Will you remember us little people when you get your oscar??

Did you miss me? I missed you guys! I've been busy and trying to get over this sinus infection that was causing the cough! Sandy - I am sure my germs did not make it all the way to Colorado. You'll have to blame someone else!!

OK - to bring you all up to speed on the happenings in our part of the world:

Turner's school won 2 2nd place trophies at the local Academic Games tournament. The top 12 students from his school's team (out of 21) were selected to represent them at the national tournament in Kissemmee, Florida, with some fun days mixed in April 23-30. Turner made the team!! (Insert smile from proud mother here!)

Turner also has been selected as the goalie for an elite team from the East Coast Youth Hockey League that will run from spring to early fall and travel up and down the east coast. This team will be called the Spirit! Their first tournament will be April 24-25 in Washington, DC!!

The problem - He can't do both!! I am proud to say that he has selected the Acedemic Games team to Florida!! (Academics over sports. My son? Who would have ever guessed??) Paul and I will be going with the team to Florida. There is supposed to be some type of Disney education program one day but that is all I know. I'll keep you guys posted as I know more.

Here's a link to some photos that were taken at Turner's last hockey tournament. There' even a picture of him with his trophy for Most Valuable Goalie. (Insert smile from proud mother here!)
Hockey Championship Game photos

Jeanne: A little TMI about the undies
I agree - we don't need to know everything!

Happy Belated Birthday, Clare.

Hope everyone is doing ok and had a great St. Patrick's Day! Spring is almost here and everything is beginning to bloom around here.

I'll try to get back on tomorrow and post more.

Love you all and thanks for letting me share al of the excitement we have with Turner!
Love you all, mean it!

That's the last time I'm sharing with you guys.......
I thought we bonded:grouphug:

Bobby is still in Midlothian, Virginia, & I am in New Jersey caring for my aunt & mom. She really is better but now they are both nervous:scared: about being by themselves. I really can't wait to leave for Long Beach. California here I come:sunny: :wave2:. No more underwear talk!

Loved the pictures of Turner. Our STAR!:bounce: :bounce:

Bonnie: Did you babysit for those two?

Hope you all have a really great weekend. The snow is coming our way. No work tomorrow but I am on this weekend. Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE

NOpe! Didn't babysit. Apparently Melinda would rather stay home than drop the baby off with me. I had a message on my answering machine from Ryan on Sunday. I called but no answer and I didn't leave a message...they have caller ID so they should know that I called. I wash my hands of them...unfortunately. Their loss the way I look at it.

Great news!! Pam has offered to give me her Subaru! I told her I would give her monthly payments...I feel guilty just taking it. She has a Jeep that her sister gave her. She figures that way when she is away I can go over and look after her cat Indy. I still will not drive to my son's though...principle.

TGIF!! Gotta run and get ready.

Sue: That is exciting news about Turner's accomplishments! I am sure you are very proud!

Kaleigh is also addicted to ring around the rosie. She grabs both of my hands and drags me to the middle of the living room and starts moving in circles. What is a mom to do but play along? :)
My favorite part is when she comes up to me and gives me a big hug. Oh, she also beeps noses. :teeth: She points at your nose and goes "beee". She tries to do it to Ollie, but he isn't so thrilled with her new found talent. I think Jerry beeped her cute little nose a few too many times. :teeth:

Jeanne: You underwear story was the perfect fodder for Garry to come out of the woodwork!

Bonnie: Great news about the car!

Barb: A star is born!:cool2:

Sandy: The restaurant sounded neat, too bad the food wasn't good.

We have our date night next Saturday! :Pinkbounc Anna Marie is going to babysit and we get to go to a nice restaurant by ourselves. We haven't been out by ourselves in a year. The restaurant has 6 fireplaces and Jerry requested to sit by one. It also looks over a lit ravine, but right now there is nothing to look at.

I work this weekend, but no other plans.

Hello, hello, hello!

Wow Turner. It is so fantastic about both. You sure deserve to have that big smile on your face. And for Turner to choose academics over sports is amazing. You have certainly raised a wise boy. Keep us posted. Great pics!

Bonnie, I am sooooo excited for you. I can't believe that offer. You AND Pam are lucky.

Gosh, it is a beautiful day. It will probably be a record breaker. It will be in the low 80's. Can you believe that? Exactly a year ago we were shoveling out our 36" of snow.

Date night, how exciting. The restaurant sounds so cool, Denine. You married a sweet guy!

Just wanted to let all you snowbirds know that it is 85 degrees here in New Mexico and it's only March! What a summer we'll have....... The office air conditioner has been down all week and between that and hot flashes, I'm NOT a happy camper as Barb would say.

Jeanne, your underwear story cracked me up :p

Sandy, I'm so so jealous.........you must have gone to Casa Bonita my most favorite restaurant in the world. I don't even care what the food tastes like!

Hi to everyone!

I am soooo excited:Pinkbounc to go to work this weekend & get away from the "old ladies". I go over at 11:00 AM make them lunch & dinner & leave about 7:00 PM & then one of the grandsons come over to spend the night but all my aunt talks about is how her daughter CALLED three times. As Bobby says "no good deed goes unpunished"! Speaking of Bobby, he is still in Virginia since I told him he might as well stay since I have to work all weekend.

So all we need to start talking about is UNDERWEAR & it will bring a reaction. On the board for the 10/23/04 cruise all you have to start talking about is ASTI!:cool1:

BONNIE: The car sounds great! Hope it all works out & you have good luck with it.

SANDY: Reservations have been made for Ron Jon (even though Joyce doesn't know it). I made them for the 21st & 22nd. I figure if we got down early on the 21st even if the room wasn't ready we can probably use the facilities. This is horrible but I don't think I am going to be able to afford to go to WDW after the cruise.

Only 15 more days until California here I come.......
My daughter is coming home in June but will miss the Nags Head vacation so I made reservations in the Poconos the 3rd week in June & then reserved a place in Virginia Beach in August but she will be back in California.

Miss you all!:grouphug: Have a fun-filled weekend. Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE

Barb, I'll look for that hidden Mickey's list.
Denine, I thought Chai tea was just black tea and steamed milk/cream. I LOVE Chai tea and get it at work and have some Starbucks gift certificates that will be used up on just that. Share the recipe if it turns out, please.
Jeanne, you are SO busy! Man, good luck with the caretaking.
I didn't catch anything from Susan. Yeah!
Happy Belated Birthday to sweet Claire

Sandy, I have no idea what you are talking about,... but I still love you.
Jeanne...
I guess you know I have to pack two different types of underwear
Love ya, mean it. My life could be boring without you all.
Guilty. I did Corned Beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots in the ol' crock pot too. Most of it is still in the fridge, in fact!
Denine -
I am getting a bit tired of Playhouse Disney myself[/QUOTE It's got to be better than Barney. It's fun to hear the updates on Kaliegh.
Sue, so great about Turner. You've done a good job on him. What's that quote, "I never said it would be easy, I just said it would be worth it" applies to YOU.
Oh Jeanne, I didn't mind the undies note!
(you all can tell I'm throwing in comments as I read, huh?)
Well, everyone have fun with life. It's there to be played with. (well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it)
Barb, I'll go look for that list.
Love to you all,
Lori

Hi all,

I am bored so decided to read the board while Ted watches TV.

Yep Patty, we went to Casa Bonita. We haven't been for years and years. The food still stinks as always but the atmosphere is still great. Are we still on for April 4th?

Lori, glad that you still love me even tho I confused you. I read it again and I think that I was rambling. By the way, your new King Soopers has a good pop sale.

Jeanne, I read somewhere that you can use the facilities at Ron Jon's before you get your room. I guess they issue you a wrist band. Did you use the code to get your discount? Sorry that you probably can't afford to go to WDW this time around but hey, you have all these other trips planned. We can't afford to go either. To get my fix, I figured a trip to Downtown Disney. We look forward to seeing you and Joyce.

Good night. Hopefully I will be able to sleep. Susan's cough is keeping me up during the night. And now, Ted has it. Thanks alot Susan!!

Sandy: I tried to get on the boards last night, but I kept getting "website not responding"

All right. I don't know if we were foolish or not. We are flying in May. Not only that, but we are leaving 2 days early and staying at Coronado Springs. We got a great passholder rate. We decided that we just couldn't bear being in the car with Kaleigh for so long. So, now, instead of traveling on Mother's Day, we will actually be down there for that weekend. :Pinkbounc :sunny:
If we drove, I don't know if I would still be wanting to celebrate Mother's Day ;)

Lori: There were several recipes for chai tea. The one I made is called Cinch Masala Chai:
14 oz. can evaporated milk
1 tsp ground cardamom
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground allspice
1/4 tsp ground coriander
1/8 tsp ground ginger
1/8 tsp ground cloves

1-1/2 cups water
1 bag Darjeeling OR other brand black tea
Sugar to taste

1. Pour evaporated milk into a resealable jar. Add spices and stir to combine. Seal jar and refrigerate for up to 1 month.

2. To make a cup of chai, bring water to a boil. In large mug, pour hot water over tea bag and let steep for 6 minutes. Remove tea bag, add 2 tablespooons spiced milk and sugar. Stir to blend.

The tea was quite good, but rich.

And yes, Playhouse Disney has to be better than Barney. I won't even let her watch that one.

Jeanne: Glad you get a break from the ladies today.

Patty: I am not jealous, ::yes:: I love snow and rain and cold weather  How many more days till we leave for Florida? Two less than my counter says! :hyper: :Pinkbounc

Hey, it's ME again! I kind of come in waves, huh?
Sandy, I love our new King's! Took long enough to open though. I got you a surprise from the grand opening!!!

Denine, thanks so much for that recipe. It might end up saving me quite a bit at Starbuck's. I'll try and find a good price on that cardamom now. Maybe we should go in on it. How much was what you got?

Susan, thanks again for not coughing on ME. Hope you are all better soon.

We're picking up Katie's very own dog (a Beagle) this week in Colorado Springs. It's a funny coincidence that the foster Mom for the dog is there, and that's where we had plans made already. They wanted us to take the dog asap but I said we had a 4 day getaway planned and couldn't take her until after that. Turns out that both are in the same city. We'll pick her up Thursday to take for a walk in Garden of the Gods and get to know her while doing our tourist thing, then if we like her enough (which I'm sure we will) we'll take her home with us on Sat night or Sun. You can cradle her in one arm. Should be a sweetie pie.

That and a bunch of work it what's going on here. Worked on packing stuff and cleaning at my Grandma's old place all day today. My sinuses really hated the dust. I think of what people would find in my house if Ben and I both kicked off at the same time right now. Wow, it would be ugly. Hope I live long enough to have all my junk downsized gradually by my kids.

Hope you are all having a great weekend, month, year, life!!!

Love to all, Lori

Good morning.

Lori, I love surprises. Thanks for thinking of me!! Your King Soopers was a disaster waiting to happen yesterday. They have the parking lot fenced off in the back so if you get in one of those parking lanes you have to back out all the way down to the front of the store if there are no spots. We were lucky tho cuz we had a decent spot with the big truck. Can't imagine backing out with that monster! The dog will love the Garden of the Gods! It all worked out perfect.

Denine, I love your trip that you have planned. It all came together and sounds fantastic. It is hard traveling with little ones especially that length of time. We found that our girls legs would go numb from dangling from their carseat when they couldn't reach the our cars seat and they would cry and cry.

Susan, Ted and I are very happy. We love coughing all day and all night. Thanks for sharing. Love ya, mean it!
