Before I get going on where I have been and what I have been up to let me first say:

I know you are all excited about your cruise. I am so excited for you. We will miss you all. I hope one of you has a chance to get on the internet and say hello to us!!

I had a lot to go back and read to get caught up. So much going on with you guys.

Now here is what all I have been up to:

Major car problems - tran$mi$$ion!!!
Working late before vacation
A week in DC (Heidi, wish you were there)
Goalie camp for 3 days in Alexandria, VA for Turner
Big surprise party for niece's husband being deployed to Iraq
Going to the send off for his unit (very sad!!)
Agreeing to be foster parents to Paul's brother's yellow lab
Gearing up for hockey tryouts (lots to do since I am on the board)

It doesn't look like much when I put it in writing but it sure has been hectic!! I haven't even had time to lurk in the past couple of weeks. But,

I'm back!!

Julie - I got my name, thank you again for doing it!!!

Denine - I hope Jerry's dad is okay. This is definitely what you don't need when leaving for a 2 week cruise.

I am so nervous about my parents trip and now with Louise being in the hospital. I hope everything gets settled with her by Thursday so they won't worry about her.
The last and only time I talked with my mom yesterday was at 3:30pm. I guess they were at the hospital until 3:30am yesterday morning continous from Sunday afternoon when they brought her in to the hospital. They ate Sunday dinner at 4:00am at McDonalds on Monday morning which makes me mad because I kept begging them to let me bring them food, I should have just went up there....anyway, and they were back at the hospital yesterday at 8:30am and I am sure through the night. I know they were running a bunch of tests and at 3:30 they were doing a colonoscopy but I haven't heard any results. I kept trying to call my parents but I don't think they had a signal. I have no idea what's going on, if they ate dinner or even went home last night. I hope everything is okay.

Pixie Dust and prayers to everyone. Have an awesome vacation of a lifetime and think of all of us that are stuck here!!!! I have to go back to training today so I will get back on tomorrow morning.

Got up early this morning so Tiffany and I could start our new routine of having breakfast together. It is nice bonding time with her that I know will mean a lot to both of us next year when she is so far away.

Hi everyone,

My excitement level for this trip has dropped dramatically. I know that Heidi told you what we have been going through. It has been rough. We almost lost our friend last night. She has COPD and they gave her too much sedative for the colonoscopy and her oxygen level dropped dramatically and they had to bring in the crash cart. They did get her stabilized now but she is going through this severe pain now without any pain meds because of it. Now they are thinking surgery on the colon. I am so upset about this so close to the cruise because we are all she has. She has only one other friend that can help. Ted is going to try and talk to her today. Travel insurance wouldn't cover this for us because she is not family. Ted is firm that we are going though. Sorry this is lengthy.

Denine, I will pray for Jerry's dad. Hope everything is improving for him. I just realized after reading this that you leave today. Have a great time.

Hello to all.

Just want to take time to thank my wonderful perfect daughter. She wanted to do things for us and we kept saying we were fine. Well, she realized that the grass needed to be cut so they did it yesterday in time for todays trash. Thanks so much Heidi. You are the best!

By the way, a special hi to Susan. Missed you. Glad you are back.

Sandy: Continued prayers for your friend. We are in the same boat with travel insurance. Nothing would be covered if something happens with Jerry's dad because he is not part of the traveling party.

Update on Jerrry's dad: It looks like the chest pains were caused by a potassium deficiency. He has been on a very restricitve diet because of his kidneys. They gave him a big dose of K+ and admitted him for observation.

This is my last post before we leave later. Wish all of you were going, excited to see the ones that are.

You guys made me feel loved. Thanks for your posts. Barb, you made me a little teary eyed even. Nothing new. Just waiting for a decision on surgery. Why would they do surgery if they won't give her any kind of pain meds etc because of last night. We are playing the waiting game.

Got a hold of her other friend and she told us to go on the cruise. She will take over. She is a high up officer on the Police dept and can kind of work around it. She has "normal" hours because of her rank.

Panic, can anyone say "panic". Oh how I hope everything is resolved the next couple of days.

I am feeling better today, not as much coughing, my voice is back but I do have a migraine so hopefully I will be well enough to visit Lou on Friday. Don't worry, we will take good care of her.

The ones going on the cruise it won't be long before you are on the high seas....have a wonderful time. The ones staying behind will keep the board going and be waiting for your safe return.

Heidi, your mom is lucky to have a daughter like you.....I am sure it makes her feel good knowing you are here taking care of things for her.

We have a scrapbook class tonight.....the teacher is very good...she does design work and teaching for a big scrapbook company. She does l50 layouts a year to teach and has been published in books. She travels all over the country and she has 6 kids so she is a busy lady. She works in a scrapbook store here in town. When Patti was here, Barb, Linda and I happened to be in the store when she was doing a make and take project. We did a two page spread which was fun so I am looking forward to tonight.

Sandy- How is your friend today?

Went to the dentist yesterday had to have 6 shots. But finally coming to an end with all my dental work. have another appointment then it is only 2 twice a year for cleaning and check ups! YEAH!!

This morning Bob was greeted with a dead mouse in the house. Out new little kitten is quite the mouser. UGH! I am SOOOOOO glad he went down stair first. I have not seen any signs of mice in our house but we know we have mice under our shed. Think the kitty is getting them there and bringing them into our our though the doggie door. Ick!

Heidi- Hope your head is better.

DENINE: Hope everything will work out with Jerry's Dad. I hope it was just because of a low potassium.

SANDY: I know you are really torn & I hope your friend will be just fine. You can't miss the cruise (How could you afford to give up the cruise?). Bonnie requested the "LAP" rotation since that is the one that we are in Lumiere's for the formal nights.

Busy day here. Our friend is doing better. Still talking surgery. Her other friend will take care of her so WE ARE GOING!! Got my hair cut, got the waxing done, now my nails in a half hour. Packing tonight after we eat dinner with Heidi and run up to the hospital. Tomorrow, babysit and do the last minute runs and packing. Will we get it done?

HI all! Took the kids to ANOTHER birthday party this morning. Can home and cleaned up the kitchen. Then I had to rest my foot. See, I had a shot in the top ofmy foot yesterday because for the past year (or more can't remember how long I have been without pain) I have severe pain with my left foot. It is so bad that when I wear any "enclosed" toe shoe, after I take my shoe off, I can't walk for at least an hour. It is like stepping on thousand pins at once. ANyways, the doctor is trying to find out why I get this pain. First she thought it was capsidious(sp) which is swelling to the covering of the joint. BUT when I went back yesterday I told her that there is tenderness on the bottom of my foot and that 3 of the 5 toes seem to be numb or like they have fallen asleep. SO now she thinks it is nerve-roma(sp) which is something wrong with the nerves in my foot. I go back the 30th and will have probably another shot and maybe an MRI to see why I am in soooooooooo much pain. When I wear flip flops I don't have the pain and usually when I am barefoot I don't either. SO that is my excitement!LOL!

ALL OF YOU CRUISERS, HAVE A SUPER TRIP AND THINK OF THE REST OF US OFTEN!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow Julie that is a serious foot problem!!!! Atleast you can still wear flip flops!!! (that is my necessity!!!)
