I am determined that this is going to be a better year!! I was so stressed last year I didn't enjoy all the good things that happened.

Heidi where are you today?? Can you please send me the name of the Spa you and your Mom went to?

2007 better year for all of us!!!

Barb- the name of the spa is Beau Visage. There is also a spa at Aspen Grove called Avalon, it is an Aveda salon....but I think Beau Visage looked more private to me. I hope Missy get's better. Thankfully Tiffany will be able to take Ethan.

Sally - sorry to hear about your sister, what a rough beginning to a new year.

Mom - I would have to say that Lutheran Hospice food was better than any other hospital food!!!!

Thank you Heidi!!!

A new addition to our board Daily inspirational thoughts......

There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year's course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word 'happy' would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.

I am determined that we have a WONDERFUL, MAGICAL, HAPPY 2006!!!!!

Barb what happened to 2006???? :rotfl2:
2007 is going to be better since we will meet at WDW for Christmas 2007!!!! Plus 2007 has to be better since a lot of our Dis family's 2006 started out so bad!!!!

Jerry's mom just got a call to come to the hospital immediately. Jerry is going straight from work to the hospital and will call me. I know they had to defibrilate him. I also know that he was throwing PVC's left and right last night, but they were going to transfer him to a regular floor today anyway. I am guessing they thought there was nothing else they could do. We were there last night when 2 of the doctors came in.

Oh no, hang in there. Prayers and Pixie Dust.

Good Morning!!!

Happy Quote..................

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us Author: Helen Keller

2007?? What are you talking about Mom??
Heeheehee love that edit key!

Working on my Valentines today. Gotta wrap some stocking stuffers I got last night tonight.

Spent the entire night playing with Ethan. Missy is really sick so I took over after I got home from work. He is such a doll. When I was ready to go to bed Ethan wasn't, I handed him back to Missy and said goodnight. (I Love being a Grandma)!

I love your quotes Barb!!!!! Reminds me of when Susan use to post quotes every day!!! I guess you will have to keep that up so I can look forward to them.

Thanks Heidi! I am so determined not to have a stressful 2006 that I need to keep reminding myself to focus on the good things instead of getting so caught up in the challenging things.

HI guys! I just got a phone call from Denine. They are at the hospital and Jerry's dad is on a ventilator. He is brain dead. The machines are doing everything for him right now. The decision they are now facing is to wait 24 hours to pull the feeding tube or pull it now and be there for when he does pass. They don't want him to pass in the night with no one there. She said that the hospital staff worked on him this morning for 30mins trying to get his heart beating again. That is why they called Jerry's mom this morning to come to the hopital. SO, Denine said that it will be either today or tomorrow when Jerry's dad passes. They are all at the hospital including Kaleigh. I told her that if things get worse, to call me and we can watch Kaleigh.

I will keep you posted when I get updates.

Update on my dad, waiting for the MRI results to see if the infection has gone into the bone. If it has, since there is no real circurlation in the foot, they will remove it. I'll keep you posted on him too!

Prayers and pixie dust to Jerry's dad. I know how hard it is. Thank you  Julie for keeping us updated. So how are things going for your dad?? Thinking of both familes. Hugs.

Barb, nice upbeat quotes. Good to read.

Heidi, I can't wait for Feb!! :cool1: I need to check out Loveland's site for rentals, class and tickets.

Hi guys! Update on my dad.... the infection has entered the bone (not sure how much) and they are giving him 6 weeks on antibiotics through a pic line and IF there is no change, he will lose his leg from the knee down. THis is his "good foot" the other has the top third of his foot (toes and top third of the foot) removed because of a sore about 13 yrs ago. They are still keeping him in the hospital right now. They might release him for the 6 weeks before he has his partial leg removal.

With all this going on, poor Brooke who turned 2yrs this past sunday has gotten passed by. We are trying to figure out when to have a party for her, but with all this going on, who knows! And the Big Guy's birthday is on Feb 5th so....................................... Where is the Calgon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll keep you posted! I'm waiting to hear from my mom. She was up at the hospital when I called my dad and I told her about Jerry's dad. She was going up to see if Kaleigh would go with her and she would bring Kaleigh here. I really don't think that they need to be dealing with a little one during this time. We'll see.

So many sad things :( . I had several New Year Resolutions - lose weight, exercise, go to Church every Sunday but I guess another one should have been to post more regularly.

JERRY: So sorry aout your Dad.
JULIE: Hope your Dad improves with the antibiotics. Tell Garry congrats.

SALLY: Happy Birthday :flower2: :flower2: :flower2:

So sorry I haven't posted. It has been really crazy  here. My friend has moved in with her daughter (which is actually a good thing), been working alot over the holidays, taking care of Mom & dog :dog: but it is no excuse for not posting!!!!!!!!!

I really miss you guys. Can't wait until the cruise & definately can't wait until a reunion in WDW. I am still alive & kicking :cool1: Joyce is still alive & kicking  & Bonnie is still alive & kicking :rotfl2: (talked to her last week). I am planning a little getaway skiing trip starting 1/26/06 (just need to get away). Thinking about Las Vegas over Easter (is that an oxymoron?)
With work you need to schedule vacations way in advance. Toodles everyone :earsgirl: JEANNE I promise to be a better poster!

Julie, you guys are so sweet trying to help Jerry and Denine. I wish I could just give you a big hug for being so sweet. Even though you are going through a lot yourself, you are still willing to help others. WOW!!

Sorry to hear about your dad, Julie. He remains in our prayers. I think of him often. Bless little Brooke. At least she is way too little to know that her birthday has come and gone!!

Jeanne, so nice to hear from you. I mean so nice!!!!!!!!!! I miss your posts. I figured you were pretty busy with your mom. Instead of Las Vegas come out here!!! Bring Bonnie and Joyce with you. Has Joyce made up her mind whether to cruise this Sept or not. Oh I hope she does. I can't imagine cruising without her. She is Ted's and my pool buddy.

Oh my gosh, such sad news. Denine and Jerry - we are all here for you, it is a rough time so if you need a wine chat anytime :chat: , I am available. Prayers and hugs are being sent your way for all.

Julie - I hope the antibiotics will help and your dad won't lose part of his leg. You are so great, offering to help Denine and Jerry as well as going through the stress with your family. Atleast Brooke is young enough that she won't even notice not a big ordeal going on for her birthday. Just take some time when things calm down, she will never know....she doesn't know dates.

Jeanne - glad to see you posting. We miss you and Bonnie and everyone else who has disappeared this year. :sad1:

Mom - I can't wait for February either, I am psyched. :flower: I looke dup rentals at Loveland and it is $20 but couldn't find a price for ski school for adults.

Thanks Heidi. Glad you found time to do some research on Lovelands site. Hey, can you do me a favor? Sam really, really wants to find a song sung by Buck Owens called Together Again. I would love to find it for him and surprise him.
