I will update my FE gift list. Love the name Jackson!

With all of these storms I am sooo glad I changed my date. Plus you all aren't half bad. ;) :) :thumbsup2

While I have never done the fish extenders before, here is what I think would be fun and work well, especially with all the kiddos. I had planned on picking up a lot of little fun things to bring on board (candy, disney erasers, pencils, and various little souvenir type items, and something grown up for the big "kids", a.k.a. adults). A few random times during the cruise I thought the boys and I could run around and distribute the items to all the pockets of all the FE's on our list. That way, the kids will have several little surprises to come "home" to when returning to their cabins or waking up in the morning, and the grown ups will get surprises from time to time as well.

Personally, I won't be offended if people only put things in the bottom 2 pockets of our FE as DH and I won't feel left out if you just want to give out kid stuff on one of your turns. I also don't feel it's necessary to designate times or turns for people, I'd rather it stay sort of anonymous so those who might want to bring lots of loot won't make others feel like slackers if you only give out one goody to everyone. This also keeps the planning to a minimum so all we really need is a list of state rooms and which ones have kids, so I know who gets :cutie: princess stuff and who gets pirate: pirate stuff, KWIM?

So there are my two cents...anybody else? I just want to keep it simple but fun.

Sounds like a plan to me. We don't have our stateroom number yet either but I will post it as soon as we get it. I like the idea of being informal and undercover :cool1: (anonymous).

Hello Everyone!

You know what I would like to find in my fish extender? No, really keep your mind out of the gutters :rolleyes1

A post card from your home state with your dis board ID on it!

Off subject--We went to Mackinac Island in the UP of Michigan and WOW :lovestruc it was beautiful there! I could be a island girl in hiding!

Any pics? I am always looking for new places to visit.:)

Here are some pictures of my crew. I'm usually behind the camera, so I don't have many of me!

Pete, Grant and Mitch at DL last October:

Better pic of the boys, I photoshopped 2 pics together and used this for Christmas cards last year:

And I'm the one on the right in this pic. I get my braces off on Oct 8...YAHOO! This was taken during our trip to the midwest last month, so it's the most current picture of me.

I want to see all of your faces before we board so I know who I'm looking for!!

I had thought about the postcard idea too because TN is known for our national park. It would be hard to bring it on the plane.

Off subject chapter 2- One of my all time favorite movies is Somewhere in Time with Chris Reeves and it was filmed at the Grand Hotel at Mackinac Island. I would love to visit sometime, but Disney calls SO strongly. Maybe sometime. I am glad you enjoyed it.

Love that movie!!

Beth I can't see your pics. Is it just me?

Here are some pics from our May Magic cruise

Have ya'll seen that our days agendas have been changed? I posted this in the regular thread too...

I logged in to WDW cruise lines this am and saw that the days have changed for what we are going to be doing...It was supposed to be Nassau, CC and at sea and I made my Palo reservations for the at sea day and then requested the dining rotation we wanted based on that...well now its At Sea day/Palo, Nassau, CC and that messes up my dining rotation as we really wanted to do Animators/Tritons Also I am supposed to be making reservations for Comfort suites in the Nassau and that would have changed...I don't want to move all this only to have it change again...When would pirate night be and formal night be based on this?

 I have a reservation with CS myself. Looks like I have to change it. Nice of DCL to inform us of a change.

I just made another reservation with CS for the 21st. Now I will have to cancel one as our date gets closer. I can wait until the 18th to cancel. I hope DCL makes up it's mind by then. :) Yikes! I changed my sailing date to make sure I didn't miss Atlantis. Please DCL don't mess it up for me.

Queenbee99-- Thanks for posting this update. I just called my TA, who called DCL. Here's how the dining/days fall now:

10/19: Day 1 - Embarkation-- Casual in restaurant #1
10/20: Day 2 - At Sea -- Casual in restaurant #2
10/21: Day 3 - Nassau -- Pirate night in restaurant #2
10/22: Day 4 - Castaway Cay -- Dress up night in restaurant #3
10/23: Port Canaveral disembarkation

Hope this helps in your planning!

Cheers,

All--

Quick question. Is someone collecting the cabin numbers for the Roll Call/FE participants? Is this something that the group would want to have handed out at the meet on embarkation day?

Just curious,

My favorite movie too. DH bought me a copy for our anniversary one year after I rented it and watched it over and over again.:thumbsup2 He's a keeper. Just celebrated our 36th anniversary on August 26.

It would have been nice to have the last day be the sea day--for packing etc-and it's formal night?!? oh well if it's Golden Mickeys for the show I have seen it already anyway. Happy thoughts.:goodvibes

Yes I would think we would need the cabin #s for the exchange. I know some of us don't have those yet. I have heard the grtys should be assigned 30 days out. So, not too much longer to wait.

ok now I am confused...I called the cruise line and switched my dining request...my WDW guy told me that formal night would be the 3rd night and the 2nd night would remain pirate night...He said they are trying this as people have requested this change and something about it being more fuel efficient....They are going to try it for a few cruises and see if it is and it may or may not be permanent...but I requested my rotation based on formal night being the 3rd night...anyone else want to call and try to get info? Thanks!

10/21: Day 3 - Nassau

This change, if it stays this way is nice for us. We have Atlantis Dolphin Encounter booked thru Disney and it starts at 9 am. It was originally scheduled for our 1 full day onboard and I was worried about how much sleep we were going to get with all the excitement of being onboard our 1st cruise. This gives us 2 nights to get adjusted to our new environment. These types of changes are the reason I booked thru Disney. I figured they can take care of all the changes, because they are the ones who caused them in the 1st place. With working my time is valuable too, so it is worth it to me to let them take care of things for me. Things like room only at WDW I will book myself over the phone to get the better cancellation policy, but with this it would just take to much of my time and effort and frustration to take care of. JIMHO not worth it for me.:goodvibes

Well if I book Atlantis with DCL it will cost me $430. It cost $157 for the room at the CS. I don't mind doing it myself. I normally book all my own tours.

queenbee--you can look up your cabin # on line. You don't have to wait for your docs. From what I have read from other disers the cabins #s are available 30 days out. Just FYI.

Hey everyone,

Just saw the changes in the itinerary. I don't know if I am upset about this or not. I guess it really didn't matter because we didn't have any excursions planned. Oh yea, we are in stateroom 8520 and have main dinner seating (whatever that means, we requested early seating because of DS so I guess that is what it is.)

Now, I need some opinions if you all don't mind. Here is the dilemma: Our plans were to drive down to Florida from NJ. (We have done this for the past 3 trips with really no problems. We have had DS on 2 of those trips.) We planned on leaving in the early morning hours of 10/17 probably around 1-2 am. I have to work the night before til 1215 am so we would be leaving after that. Anyway our plans were to drive until we got to Santee,SC where we would get a room for the night and pick up the next morning. We would then drive to the Port where we have a room booked for the night of the 18th.
On returning from the cruise, we have reservations at Old Key West until the 26th. Then we would pick back up and start the drive home, again stopping in SC overnight.
Here's the dilemma part: I was searching airfares today just for the heck of it and found Jet Blue flying out of Newark for $89 each way. The 2 nights in SC would cost us a little over $200. DH says it cost us around $400 to drive down the last time (May) So now I am not sure what would be better to do. If we flew we would probably end up renting a car for transportation to and from the airport in Florida just because it is less of a hassle with the baby and it's easier to be on our own schedule.

I am leaning toward flying(even though I am not crazy about it) because we'd be there quicker, but I am nervous about flying with DS. DH thinks (and I am tending to agree) that we should fly so that we can test out DS on a shorter flight because we are going to St. Maarten in March and that is about a 5 hour flight.

So if you got through all that I would really appreciate opinions and any experiences that you all have had.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Mary...we have a guaranteed room which I guess is different...that is why I don't know my number yet...I am booking with CS too to save money...still haven't decided if we are doing it though...
