Do we have a count of who will be participating with the fish extenders?:hourglass our date is getting close!!

Hello all!

We will be sailing with you all. I'm Mary and I will be sailing with my 11 yr old DD and my 9 yr old DS. We just changed from the 9/7 sailing to this one. I was getting nervous about Hannah and my kids will only miss 2 days of school on this sailing so it's all good. This is a surprise cruise for DD and DS. Now they have to wait 7 more weeks instead of 1 week but, we will be OK.:)

I have to go cancel my room at Comfort Suites and rebook for this date. Anyone else planning on going to Atlantis?

Is it too late to get in on the FE exchange? If not I completely understand. I just thought I would ask.

glad it worked out!!!:dance3: :dance3:

we are just planning on "chilling" in nausau.
may get off the ship for and hr or 2 just to look around.:cool1:

Hi Mary!We , DH, DS 10, DS 8 and DS 6, are also planning Comfort Suites for this cruise. We were going to take it easy and do a self tour and then go back to the ship but every option I present my DH with he says "Why not, book it!" so I guess we'll be at Atlantis too.I got 135$ plus fees directly from their site. I didn't see it any better on the "budget" sites and you can cancel up until 2 days before. I am hoping to find someone with an extra braclet I can go in on for the 5th person in our group if anyone is interested in cutting their room costs? I'm running out of things to plan!! I can't seem to get enough Disney! Marcy

ah so you are going to enjoy a ship less crowded then. :thumbsup2

They sometimes have pretty good movies on board too.

We are going to Atlantis, but we will be doing the Dolphin Excursion booked thru Disney. I know it's more expensive than the other one in Nassau, but they include wet suits (I burn without 50 sunblock and you can't have it on with the dolphins) and the trip out is by bus (the other is by boat and I was afraid I would get sick on the trip out) plus we get the Atlantis water park included. The other encounter was not originally available when I went to book, but has since opened up, but I decided that this is a special trip and we would just bite the bullet & stay with the original booking.

Just bought a waterproof digital camera and 2 Vivitar 35mm cameras w/waterproof cases, so we can get lots of pictures of the dolphins, the water parks and the ocean floor at CC & at WDW water parks without having to worry about getting our cameras ruined.

Hey everyone!
Finally done with Justin's 1st Birthday and am ready to jump headfirst into planning the cruise. DH thinks I'm nuts I keep telling him we have to get "stuff" ready. He doesn't understand the t-shirts, magnets, fish extenders...etc that need to be planned and made.
Anyway, I just spent forever on a different thread reading about the fish extenders. Here are my questions: Are we deciding ahead of time what we are bringing(kinda ruins the surprise, I think)? Are we assigned someone to leave a gift for? (I read something about a list of names and you leave a gift for the person beneath you on the list and it continues like a chain) Or can we drop off gifts to everyone's FE? And finally, what's with the pockets on the FE? Does everyone get one? Like one for me, DH and DS? And if everyone gets one what pocket do you put the gift in? Or are we doing separate gifts for each person in the room?
Sorry about all the questions...I may be overthinking things, but I usually leave things til the last minute and I want to be prepared this time.

Hi Marcy! I pd $135 too through AAA. I would check it again as it gets closer because it might go down. I know the 9/8 room I had booked did go down.

That should be a lot of fun. We have not done any swimming with the dolphins yet.

This isn't a swim, it is in 4 ft. of water, playing and petting and learning how to interact with them. DH can't swim so 4 ft. is about the limit for water depth for him. If he can stand in it he's OK, but even with a dolphin to hold onto for a swim he would probably panic. (and this is the guy I'm taking on a big ship into the middle of some very deep water:rotfl2: . Hopefully nothing happens that causes him to go overboard:scared1: . Maybe I'll make him wear his lifejacket for the whole cruise.;) )

lol.
So no snorkeling for DH then. :) My sister and I sometimes travel together and we went on a snorkeling tour together. Well we both found together that she gets freaked out in 20ft of open water!:scared1:  So for our next trip she stayed on the tour boat while I snorkeled. She is more of a shopper than a water sport person.

Post #14 on the first page has an updated list of those wanting to participate in the fish extender exchange. I just added your name to it. :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard, Mary and family. I've added you to the roll call and the fish extender participant list.

Great questions--- to those participating, do you have any answers that you want posted on the front page?

Cheers,

Thank you Pam!

Anyone have any plans for the weekend? I am off to Sam's. I know I know absolutely thrilling! :cheer2: DH is cutting the grass. We like to push the envelope.

As far as the FE gifts I was thinking of putting a little something in everyone's FE. Nothing too fancy just a nice fun little surprise when you come back to your cabin. Is that OK? I haven't read all the posts so if you all have already decided something let me know. I don't want to throw a wrench into anything.

OK so 7 groups for the FE exchange right?

familyfun5--is the new baby a girl or a boy? (Congrats!! btw)

JustinsMommy07-does your DS like to color?

Queenbee99-is your 4 yr old a boy or a girl?

Thanks!

I don't have my cabin # yet because I had to do a guarentee in order to change to this sailing. I will post that as soon as I get it. OK now I really have to get going to Sam's.

While I have never done the fish extenders before, here is what I think would be fun and work well, especially with all the kiddos. I had planned on picking up a lot of little fun things to bring on board (candy, disney erasers, pencils, and various little souvenir type items, and something grown up for the big "kids", a.k.a. adults). A few random times during the cruise I thought the boys and I could run around and distribute the items to all the pockets of all the FE's on our list. That way, the kids will have several little surprises to come "home" to when returning to their cabins or waking up in the morning, and the grown ups will get surprises from time to time as well.

Personally, I won't be offended if people only put things in the bottom 2 pockets of our FE as DH and I won't feel left out if you just want to give out kid stuff on one of your turns. I also don't feel it's necessary to designate times or turns for people, I'd rather it stay sort of anonymous so those who might want to bring lots of loot won't make others feel like slackers if you only give out one goody to everyone. This also keeps the planning to a minimum so all we really need is a list of state rooms and which ones have kids, so I know who gets :cutie: princess stuff and who gets pirate: pirate stuff, KWIM?

So there are my two cents...anybody else? I just want to keep it simple but fun.
