October 16, 2011 Mexican Riviera on the Wonder

We leave in 10 days!!!

Another day of cold and rain, but it is supposed to get better starting tomorrow.

While I don't go on a cruise to watch movies, I would like to see The Help. We saw Pooh and it was cute.

I'm hoping the weather in LA gets better! It's nice today, but supposed to cool down and start raining

When I talked to a CM the other day they told me winnie the pooh and the help would be playing!
I'm hoping for "Pirates" in the Walt Disney Theatre. We saw Secretariat in there last year and it was really cool.

When do the movies play?

I think they play most movies multiple times in the Buena Vista Theatre. And there are usually quite a few different movies they play.

If there is a Disney movie being released while we are out, they will show those after midnight on the day of release. Watching the shows and movies is one of my favorite things to do on a cruise.

A coworker of mine just got off the Wonder and she told me today they played Tangeled in 3D multiple times, The Help, and Winnie the Pooh.

I just got off the Magic Saturday and yes... Tangled, Pirates, Winnie the Pooh, and The Help was among the shows playing! :thumbsup2

My DD wil be SO excited if tangeled is playing!!!

Same here - my DW is currently working on making the Simplicity pattern of Rapunzel's dress for DD for Halloween...

As for the movie list, I think all of the following are safe bets (confirmed from the 9/25 navigators in italics):

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 (2D & 3D) - Tues, 3D; Wed, 2D; Thurs, 3D; Sat, 3D
Car 2 (2D & 3D) - Fri, 2D; Sat, 2x in 3D
Toy Story 3 (2D & 3D) - Sun & Mon, 2x each in 3D
Gnomeo and Juliet (2D & 3D) - Fri, 2x in 3D
Tangled (2D & 3D) - Mon, 2x in 3D
The Help - Mon 10pm, Thurs
Winnie the Pooh - Wed, Thurs, Sat
African Cats - Sun, Thurs
Lion King - Wed, 2D

These are all confirmed on multiple other threads, and there's nothing new this time of the year coming out.

Lion King 3D is possible, but it's only supposed to have a 2 week window. Nothing says Disney can't keep it on its own ships, but no guarantees, either. It played Friday @ 2pm and Saturday @ 10 am on this cruise.

I've also read that I Am Number Four has played in the past month, but don't know if that's current - I didn't see it, and it appears to have been replaced with Fright Night. It's basically all the Disney, Pixar and Buena Vista pictures released in the previous year or so, plus some classics here and there - I noted on the 9/25 cruise:
BV Theater:
Dumbo, Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Pinocchio, Toy Story 2, Beauty & the Beast, Peter Pan, and Snow White.

funnel vision:
Bug's Life, Lion King 2D, Pocahontas (Sun),
Aladdin, Cinderella, Aristocats (Mon),
101 Dalmatians, Three Caballeros, Monsters Inc, Mulan (Tues),
Dumbo, Emperor's New Groove, Wall-E, Tarzan, Toy Story 2 (Wed),
Toy Story, Treasure Island, Swiss Family Robinson, Tarzan, Pirates/Black Pearl (Thurs)
Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, Fantasia 2000, Beauty & the Beast, Mary Poppins (Fri)
Tarzan, Mulan, Aladdin, and some baseball playoffs (Sat)

I found one post in the trip reports area of a cruiser who just returned yesterday, and can't figure out ho to posted her scanned PDF navigators she brought home. I've volunteered to help her, so if I hear more, this will be the first place I tell after they get posted... EDIT: here they are - https://docs.google.com/#folders/0B4ZEaWcDwhNNNWQ3Y2QyNzktMjAwNS00NzVhLWI5MGYtMDdmNWM2MDNlZTBm

We are doing the single digit dance today!! Can't wait to get there next Thursday!!!

I sure do hope the weather in CA is nice.

Ok, posted this in another thread. Called and got the list...

Fright Night
Real Steel
Winnie the Pooh
Cars 2 in 3D
Pirates in 3D
The Help

I asked if this was it and was told yes. So there we go. :)

This is the exact list that was on the Magic last week when I was onboard. However, the Cruise Director, Peter, did tell us Lion King would end at the end of the week because it was only in theaters for 2 weeks so you can probably remove this one from the list.

As far as Fright Night goes... is that a horror movie? Yea... Disney won't put this one on their screen. Real Steel I can see but not Fright Night. I have been on Halloween Cruises and they never played the "Halloween" themed movies so I wouldn't bank on this one.

Actually, they did, as I took that list directly off of scanned Navigators from the Wonder's 9/25 sailing. It was played both Wed. 9/28 and Fri 9/30 at 10:30 pm... Guess what Disney plays in the late evenings can be surprising!

I think I'd rather see Real Steel than Fright Night, though...

Did you find the Navigators from the 9/25 sailing on Disboards?

this will be our family's first Disney cruise and I am so very excited!!!! celebrating 3 birthdays and our wedding anniversary! Excited to see all of you there!:cool1::woohoo:

We are also celebrating three birthdays, 17, 20 and 70! And we will probably celebrate my parents wedding anniversary too! :)

REALLY? I would assume they would play the same things on the Magic and Wonder? :confused3 And I was on the Magic last week and didn't see that? That is odd! We did go to see the Help at 10:45PM one night though. :goodvibes

I think I will pass on Fright Night. Real Steel though... yea, Hugh Jackman... that's all I need to say!

Yes, I was going to help someone who wanted to post them, but wasn't sure how. Then, by the time I volunteered to help, they were up on Google docs. Link is on my big post at the bottom of the last page, 388 I think, and also on the bottom of page 9 of the All Things MR sticky by the OP. Be warned, they aren't scans, but photos taken with a camera, so some are a little fuzzy... Geekbunny moved them to Picasa, where they are easier to zoom/pan, etc, but the PM link keeps kicking me out of Firefox. I'll post it here as soon as my browser lets me... EDIT: Here it is! https://picasaweb.google.com/103985...onderNavigators?authkey=Gv1sRgCI7_w_DBxvaBzgE

I agree, it is strange they wouldn't play the same thing, but who knows? Maybe being in different locations, they get different shipments?

Does anyone know how the pre-purchase photo credits work? I keep seeing posts about this but I can't seem to get an answer on where you pre-purchase the credits. :confused3

We leave in 6 days!!! We are so excited we just want to leave now!!! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

I hope the weather improves for Puerto Vallerta. I checked the 10-day forecast today and there is a 50-60% chance of storms every one of those 10 days. We are doing the pirate cruise thing there and I don't want it canceled. Cabo looks good for the next 10 days though, at least if you like temps in the 90's. We do.

Trying to pull stuff together today for the start of packing this weekend.
