October 15, 2005 anyone?

Hi Everyone
Thank you Dr Sam, why didn't I ask you 12 months ago. H. pylori was detected in the blood. I have to take 8 large pills a day for 7 days. Hopefully after the course has finished no more problems. Can't believe all that pain I have suffered the past year is going to clear up with 1 weeks pills, I hope he is right.
London still dominates the news as I type. 38 killed, over 700 injured, 45 serious or critical. My brother was there 2 days ago talking to me on his cellphone while I was on the net trying to find the best route in by train and tube instead of taking his car. Glad it wasn't today.
Thank you all for your support

Wayne,

I'm glad to hear you received relatively good news. Nobody wants an ulcer, but I know when I was diagnosed with one I was just relieved it wasn't something worse! I suspect that is the relief you are feeling right now. For me, treatment was a couple of months of Nexium...Cleared it right up. I'm still on the Nexium today to control gastroesophogeal reflux disease (GERD) and hopefully to reduce the likelihood of the ulcer coming back.

If it's not the teeth, it's the stomach!...Eatin' is a dangerous business! :rotfl:

I love London, but I'm glad to hear that you and your family were not in the vicinity today.

Take care.

:cloud9:
Our trip is paid off, ressies are made, and now our airfare is booked. $158 per person round trip. I don't think we could have done any better and I am so glad that now all I have to worry about is packing. Which if you ask my DH is another whole saga. :)

Anyway, thought I'd share my new's.

Wayne, I am so glad that they found the problem, and that it isn't worse.

~Everyone, take care! :earsgirl:

Wayne....

So glad it wasn't worse for your stomach. I too have stomach problems, enough for me to have to choose our excursions verrrry carefullyon this cruise!!! I have a combo of Crohn's and a Spastic colon. Not pretty!!! :guilty:

I've been suffering with this for 20 years now. Some days I'm good, some days I'm not so good....and some days, I'm horrible!! But, I'll live. I literally have NO PAIN!!! Thank goodness for that!! :flower:

Geez, I wish the good doctor could find a remedy for me. I'd even allow it to take up to a month to fix. Just so it gets fixed!!

Glad you were far away from London this morning.

Take care,
Nancy :cool1:

wayne...glad to hear the good news...if the big pills you are on are antibiotics (which i assume they are)my doctor around here recommends taking them with pepto bismol...i don't know if you have that stuff over there but it sure helped me out! :goodvibes

i wish so much we could fly...and yes we could not imagine driving across half this country without our dvd player! we actually have a built in player in our van with drop down screens that allow the kids in the middle to watch something while the kids in the back can play video games. the screen in front can get movies from a vcr so we record their favorite shows (6 hours worth!) so we do not have to change tapes very often...and you are right, the dvd players are for us not them!!! :rotfl:

i was able to make a ressie for one palo dinner, one brunch, and one tea...after that it locks you out unless you cancel one....i am so glad the ressie rush is over for me but why are they not offering the surial bath chamber for ressies online? I was hpoing to not have to go anywhere onboard to make ressies but i guess i will have to now... :sad2:

Hey Wayne...glad to hear your health news - will hopefully hear in another week that you are all better.
Terrible news about bombing in London. It's been all over our TV as well - ties my stomach in knots to see the pictures and hear the storys.

Wayne,
I am glad they figured out what was wrong.

Somehow I have blew a vien in my wrist and it has caused a hematoma! :confused3 My boss just sent me over to Plastic Surgery and they said it is not big enough to do surgery and remove it so they just wrapped my wrist and hand and gave me a splint for nighttime. It is very sore and looks just awful. Probably 2 weeks to heal and to get the numbness and tingling to stop. They just don't want Carpal Tunnel setting in since I work on a computer all day. :guilty: What a pain!!
No teeth problems yet....That is one good thing. I had enough of those last year.

Well I hope you all have good weekend. Not easy typing with this thing on my arm...

Bye! :wave2:

I think they should take extra doctors and a dentist on this cruise :rotfl:

hematoma... I love that word... it's a big word that means... something burst.... when I was younger and worked at a grocery store, I dropped a pallet on my toe... I never released the pressure on it (aka drill/cut a hole in the nail).. and I even worked the next day (dropping yet another heavy thing on it...) needless to say I soon had a hematoma on my toe... and there was much bleeding from the hematoma on my big toe...

Sorry Michelle... hope it feels better soon...
wayne... glad they found the problem and it is being fixed...

Later,
Paul

Anyone but Dr. Bricker from the Love Boat. He just creeps me out!! :rotfl:
Let's see...has Johnny Depp played a Doctor yet? :teeth:

Michelle, Good thing it will be healed before the cruise. Did you at least get some "workmen's compensation"? :goodvibes

I have Crohns and they look for something in my blood every time I go in for check-ups. I'm lucky...my case is pretty mild but I still take about 16 pills a day to keep it under "control." :confused3

Hey Brenda,

My DSIL has Crohn's  but much worse than I. She would like to know what meds you are on. She had to resort to "Natural" remedies because none of the Doctors meds help her.

If you have a little time, could you please list them for us.

Much appreciated!!!

Nancy

(p.s....got your note and money for the transfers...thanks!!)

So sorry...that last post was supposed to be a private message for Brenda!!!

Nancy,
I take one gram of Pentasa daily - four pills four times a day. I also take a multivitamin supplement twice a day - it's called Forvia and they make it specifically for people with Crohns and Colitis. I'm not sure if I'd feel any worse without the vitamins, but I have such a hard time with a lot of vegetables that I figure it can't hurt.

The Pentasa is just another version of Mesalamine, but people can usually take it for long periods of time without experiencing any adverse side effects. For whatever reason it works very well for me. I had been taking Asacol and that was not good at all.

Hope this helps a little!

Brenda :goodvibes

why are we all falling apart? :rotfl2:

I am getting excited...we got our matching outfits from the disney store this week (cheesy, i know...) and my daughter won this cool soft cooler that has a radio built in for the beach!

are there any other rumours about what will change during dry dock?

We dropped down to the second page, and with less than 100 days to cruise that just shouldn't happen!! :teeth:

Dh and I are hosting a Harry Potter party on Friday night - about thirty adults with nothing better to do than read children's books...ain't life great?? ;)

I'm very excited - we built our house about five years ago and due to family illness and much sadness we never had time to have a housewarming. So this is our first real party and I'm scrambling to get everything ready on time. Bring on Harry Potter and a mango martini...it's time to have some fun!!

Hope all is well where you are... we're finally getting some rain (I just wish it would wait until after rush hour...).

See ya later!

Brenda

hello all...first - I am not the 'techno geek' people might consider me to be - so excuse me if I can't figure out how to put this image on to a DIS post. I was able to place this as a file on our yahoo web site - hope this is something you all enjoy.

would appreciate your thoughts - suggestions - comments on an image i've been putz'n with. Not sure if some of you would like the raw file to add your information on...if so...just send me an e-mail and I'll send it your way.

hope this finds all well...we are getting sooooo close...i can almost smell the sea...all the way to the - dry - HOT - very HOT - desert.

Kevin

I've never gotten into the Harry Potter thing, but my twelve-year-old loves those books. I've had the new one pre-ordered for months, and Amazon promises delivery this Saturday. That should keep him busy (and away from the GameCube/GameBoy) for a day or two! :teeth:

Kevin: Nice job on the "Molar Express" logo!

Well my arm is healing good and I am ready to take this dang wrap off!

I am also ready to make my Palo and Spa reservations on Sunday! :cool1: I will be out of town at my Cousins for a Hawaiian Luau party! :rockband: :fish: :bday: :flower1: Birthday party for my Cousin's Grandma(my Grandma's Sister) She will be 80,but you would not know it! She has always wanted to go to Hawaii, but will probably never get too so we are bringing it to her...My Cousin has a nice deck and pool and we are all wearing tropical clothes and I am bringing my lighted palm tree. We have Luau CD's so we can do the "Limbo"! We have everything Hawaiian and so it should be fun! :flower:
Anyway......I will be there till Sunday and so my Cousin said I can use her Computer and I will make all my ressies!! Woo hoo :cool1: So does it work right after midnight or not??? I am sure we will be up!

I decided to cancel the horseback ride with Lucky stables in St.Maarten. Bad reviews on Cruise critic and the swim in the sea is in 20 feet of water!! DD is an excellent rider, but on her horse. I just don't want to put my 7 year old on a strange horse and risk her getting hurt. Plus people have said that a lot of the horses try and roll in the sand with the people on them. So I think we will skip it. We ride all the time anyway. So we are just going to rent the Jeep Wrangler convertible and explore the Island. If we decide to ride we will do it when we get there. I read you can negotiate. I found the Jeep to rent for the day for $65! Cheaper than the ride and we will have it all day long! :goodvibes

ok...Just wanted to add to our thread since Brenda mentioned we are slacking off... ;) Have fun at your Harry Potter Party Brenda!!!! The Mango Martini sounds good! :cloud9:
