October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

I found the link I was thinking about for the trip insurance here.

The logo is in the other place too in good resolution, no? Or, is it the same resolution if I copied and used this one?

Are we doing group t-shirts or anytihng or are we on our own? Seems like the DIS group on this cruise is small.

I think most are taking the logo with the better resolution from the off site and making their own t-shirts. Some are wearing Mardi Gras beads to the port in order to recognize each other. It is a small group but pleasant so far.:) I think folks are very busy and don't post as often as other groups on the board.

Hey all you fellow Minnesotans-- hot enough for you today? :lmao: I can't believe how yucky it is today-- thank goodness for air conditioning and a pool :thumbsup2 It's almost time to pick excursions - what's everyone thinking about doing? This is our 3rd cruise but we've never done any planned excursions, are there any that anyone really recommends?

Hi All - As final payment fast approaches I had better start catching up. It will now be friends Fran and Elynne and sister Barbara and her DH John joining us.

Hi Gang...

It's been a while since I've posted. My apologies...life has just been flying by.

I have some bad news and good news...

The bad news first: My gang and I will not be joining you guys on this cruise. :( We've postponed the cruise until next March during my spring break. The reason we postponed is a very good one...

The good news: My BF and I are going to Puerto Rico and Jost Van-**** (British Virgin Islands) next month. I'm so excited!

So the responsible person that I try to be every now and then has decided that with the trip to PR/BVI and classes this fall, it would be better to push the cruise to next year.

It would have been nice to meet you all, but I hope you have a wonderful cruise...no, I KNOW you'll have a wonderful cruise!

Lots of Pixie Dust to you all!

Take care,

Hi all! This is our first cruise and I recently joined disboards and have been pouring over the information on here...which will take forever!! Ha, ha. Anyway, we booked at Christmas time for the Oct. 13-20 Eastern cruise and I have so many questions!! Our stateroom number in 7054-is this a nice one? I've also been reading that dress is "cruise casual" what does that mean?? Is a tux rental from DCL the best way to go for my hubby?

We're from MD. My hubby is co-owner of a computer store and I am a former HS teacher who is contemplating staying at home for a few years with our children Peyton, 5 and Emilia, 3.

Any bits of info or helpful hints from you cruising vets would be greatly appreciated!!

Be Blessed~

welcome to all the newcomers!

We have been so busy these last few weeks, but I am so looking foreward to July 15th when I get to book our ressies. :yay:

jen-n-greg, We went on the Doubloon Sail & Snorkel in St Thomas and it was alot of fun! Oh & Tuesday was "tropical!" pirate:

theporterfam (Jenn), on this board under Disney Cruise Line there is stateroom reports and maybe they will have your room. Hope this helps. :)

In regards to Dis Meets, we could make up a poll on the Yahoo Website on when people think it's a good time to have the meet if they want to at all. I realize that many of us haven't decided when and what we are doing as of yet. Spa, Palo Brunch, etc... But maybe in a month after people have made there ressies would be a good time. Also, a sea day is probably better than a day in port. On our last cruise we had our meet Sunday, late morning at Quiet Cove Cafe. Also if alot of us wear the Mardi Gras beads on Saturday at port we will be able to recognize each other better and it's kind of fun as we are walking around waiting to board to run into someone with the beads and try to guess or recognize who they are.

Well, gotta run.. Have a great rest of the week everyone!!! :goodvibes

Welcome to the new Crusie-A- Palooza members!! theporterfam we are also from MD (Baltimore)! Cathy

Thanks to everyone who welcomed me to the board! This makes me even more excited for our cruise!

Cathy, we're from Frostburg about 2.5 hours from Baltimore. When are you flying down?

There is a shuttle launch on the day that our trip ends and we're going to try to take Peyton to see that. He'll love it.

Hope that you all have a great weekend!!

We are flying out Friday evening and will be staying at the Hyatt -Airport. Does anyone know how the shuttle launch will effect us? What time is the launch? Cathy

The shuttle launch is Saturday the 20th around 12:30 noon. I have heard that makes traffic heavy.

Welcome to all the new posters!

Anyone else worried about making flights home? I'm glad I pushed ours back to after 1pm. I wonder if the airlines have to make adjustments into and out of the airport.

We are going to the beach for the holiday week. I'll bring my crusie info and try to decide on the excursions!

Have a safe and happy Fourth of July !

The airlines changed our flight around. We started at a 1:00 flight home with a 1/2 hour lay over. Next time I checked there was a 5 hour lay over.:scared1::scared1::scared1:
Needless to say I called and had them give us a later flight and we are back to a 1/2 hour lay over. We now catch a 6:00 flight home but thats actually better because we can watch the launch and won't have to hurry or worry about being late.

Now I wonder if I can find a place and get a reservation for lunch that day.

Good Morning!

Hi fellow Marylanders! We are taking the auto train down and back. I don't enjoy driving distances any more and Dsister doesn't like to fly.

We have decided on St Maarten to walk into town, nice paved walkway and then take the afternoon beach bash thru DCL. On St Thomas, travel to Magens Bay on our own then maybe wander around downtown.

DH has been looking at the offerings. I still have not as yet. It's been busy. I figure I'll get to things as it gets much closer.
:scared1:

This will be our 4th Eastern on DCL. We are thinking of just shopping near the pier and going to the Spa while at St Maarten. As for St Thomas, still not sure. The only thing I know for sure is Brunch at Palo.

Do any of you know if any of the excursions (DCL or other) or island busses would accomodate an ECV/wheelchair? My Mom would really like to see the islands if at all possible! We may be able to rent a taxi and have to disassemble the ECV for the ride... ??? She'd love to go to Paradise point or Megan's bay.

In case anyone needs a DCL "fix" - I found that with the Podcast feature in iTunes you can download 3 minute Podcasts from the DCL. They have several to choose from that focus on the Oceaneers Club, Flounders Reef, Adult Activities, Dining, Staterooms etc. It was neat to show my DS a bit more about the kid club. Can't believe it's only a few months away!
