October 13, 2012--Magical Galveston Cruise!!!

I went to work today , and picked up my students uniforms( 4 boxes worth!). I went to put one box on a rolling cart and it rolled away from me, straining my back! I went to the NP this afternoon, got steroids, muscle relaxers and pain medication, so now am lying here hoping to get this thing under control before the trip! I feel bad enough with work having to cover for me right now, but now the trip that I have been waiting for so long may be in jeopardy! My DH is telling me that he will cancel if I dont stay lying down. So, I have the next 24 hours to get this under control, I really do not want this to upset the whole trip.

I hear you. I have wrist that has decided to to be sore, an ankle that I sprained and because I wanted to cover all the bases I had major filling done today. The dentist very nicely gave me a very nice prescription. So if you see someone with a wrist brace on, walking with a limp and looking slightly glazed over you have found me.:crazy2:

We are so looking forward to this vacation. The baby's stuff is taking one whole bag. :lmao:

Any Houston Texans fans boarding? I *think* game 7 is on formal night... Think they will still show it by the pool? Anyone know where else they might have it on?

Yes, I'd like to see it. Keep that undefeated streak going....!

... I also have to do the charge-every-battery round - between cameras, iphones, kindles, ipad (my 84 year old Mum has one and I do not - LOL - what's the world coming to? :joker:) ...

Jenny, my 89 year old Mom sounds A LOT like your Mum. She also has an iPad (I don't either!) and uses it to text to all the family, and ususally has 5 or so concurrent games going on Words with Friends. :surfweb:

Ouch!! :crazy2: I hope that you can recover enough to make it to the ship!! Sending healing thoughts and vibes your way - keep us posted on how you are feeling! :goodvibes

Wow - you are definitely going to be easy to spot! :wave2: For such little people, babies have a LOT of stuff!! :rotfl:

I am going to maybe pack some stuff today - I can't stand to wait any longer! :hyper:

Feel better Patman and take it easy. I've had a few back surgeries so I've learned the hard way about taking care of my back. We are taking loads of vitamins here because I don't want any of us sick on the ship. LOL!
Hubby and I went out last night and splurged on a new camera. I also bought a disposable for beach/snorkling. My ds is 5 and we booked the Costa Maya Highlights and Beach combo, Nautilus Undersea tour in Grand Cayman, sail snorkel and beach party. Hopefully the last one won't be too much for him. He gets a little anxious when he's doing something new so we didn't want to pick excursions that seemed scary to him (like swimming with stingrays :scared1:)
We are staying on deck 2 and have for the last 2 Disney cruises. (It's how we've been able to afford to go on 3 cruises in the last 3 years. LOL!) Both were on the Wonder and on our first cruise I swear it sounded like heavy kegs were rolling around on the deck above us. We kind of got used to it and it would lull us to sleep at night. HA! I've started packing and just dh and ds clothes have filled up one suitcase. My hubby wears size 13 shoes so they do take up a bag in and of themselves. Not to mention all the FE goodies I have. I try and keep my giveaways small but they've definitely added up! Gotta finish up packing today, I've got a roast in the slow cooker, ds has picture day tomorrow and asked me to decorate the house for upcoming Halloween. I think I'll need a wizard to pull all this off! :wizard:

Bizarre question: how do u pack necklaces without them getting tangled?
Thanks :)

I pack mine in a velvet jewelry case/box. I use a straight pin to keep them from getting tangled and then I can put multiples in the same box. Works great and fits in the safe in the room nicely.

Snowcat: Where are you from in Minnesota? We are from Maple Grove - will be on this cruise also. Me, my husband, 13 year old granddaughter and 11 year old grandson. We're flying though. Our daughter and her husband live in Houston and will be also joining us. This is our 7th Disney cruise!
Gramman6-we are from Bloomington/Prior Lake/Shakopee area! Cannot believe we get to leave in just 1 day! Time to get packing! laundry is done, pets are taken care of, now to get those suitcases set!!

Eek I'm running out of time and have so much to do at home and work! I'm stressing bigtime! I am seriously getting all worked up over everything to be done. Must find way to calm self

Does anyone know if we have to sign our 6 yr olds passport? Or does he?

I would think you do? I don't see how a 6 year old could have a legal signature? :rotfl2: I don't know though, that's just a guess on my part! :upsidedow

Ugg..I'm also in the pre-vacation, gotta-gettit-done-where-did-the-time-go mode :crazy2::faint: I have a long list of things to get done at lunchtime today! :moped:

Here I am at work checking the boards, it is my last day until the 23rd. I have a 4 page list of things to do tomorrow before we leave. I cannot WAIT:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: deanna

Gotta love MEA!! Osseo doesn't have school tomorrow either - so they are only missing 3 days. Have a safe drive - we've done that trip before! Maybe we'll run into you on the ship. We like to hang out on the nice chairs on Deck 4!

You would think and that is what i thought he would not be legal but when I looked at passport gov it says parent sign unless the child can sign for themself. Which left me even more confused?

I'm glad I'm not only one in panic mode lol!!!

Last question, do we use ships towels for excursions or bring own?

Use the ships towels. They provide them and have a drop off spot for them when you get back. Easier than having a sandy/dirty towel of your own to deal with. :)

That IS wierd, I wonder if you Googled it if you can find out?

Reminder post: We have a meet up scheduled at 3:00 pm on Saturday in the Promenade Lounge for everyone/anyone that can make it. We will have be out of there by about 3:30 pm for muster drill at 3:45 pm. :wave2: :thumbsup2

FE Participants - I will have extra FE lists and FE maps for anyone that needs one, plus a whiteboard on my door. If anyone has room changes at the port, post it on my door.

I hope everyone that is travelling tomorrow has a great trip down to the Houston/Galveston area. :cheer2: Safe travels to everyone, especially those travelling with ailments/injuries! pixiedust:
