October 12, 2013 - Western Caribbean on the Fantasy!!!

We just booked the cruise so we are jumping in the forum here to learn more. Fish extenders #3 sounds good to us too but we don't have a room assigned. We have booked Disney's deal where they assign a verandah room whenever they feel like it prior to cruising. Is that ok? We'll jump on the Facebook group page too. Looking forward to the excitement, it's our first cruise so we are learning from you experts as we go! Thanks in advance for the great advice.

Amy & Brian

:welcome: Amy & Brian and family. While my group is not participating in the FE, we will be attending the DisMeet on boarding day. We will be meeting at 2:30pm on boarding day in the Vista Café, Deck 4 Mid-Ship. Let me know if you would like to meet up with us and I will add you to the list. Looking forward to meeting all of you really soon!

Amy & Brian

Is it just the 2 of you? If not, please get me ages and gender of your kids. I will update the list as soon as I get this info from you.

Just let me know ASAP when you get your room #, otherwise, I will have a list at all times in my FE and hopefully you can add it at the group meet.

I am coodinating a mixology class on the 1st sea day at 2:00 (hopefully). They told me 30 people max, but I'm taking names as alternates or in case they allow more if you are interested. $15 pp and it will be charged to your onboard account. We are doing Champagne girls afterward at Bon Voyage at 2:45 (if we can make it, lol!)

:yay: we are in #3FE rooms 9002 and 9004.... is it just amy and brian in your room???? this is our first disney cruise... am really excited, i am trying to make up my FE gifts now... looking forward to meeting you.... :goodvibes

Thanks to one and all for the kind welcome. Sorry for the confusion. It is 5 of us Amy & Brian and 3 kids: son age 9 - Austin, daughter age 7 - Holly, and daughter age 5 - Ashley.

I don't know why we wouldn't try to do the meet up on deck 4 if we can and like we say, once Disney gives us a room for the fish extender we'll let everyone know. Thanks!

on another note..... two of my granddaughters will be on this cruise,,, one is 10 and the other 13..... i notice that most of the 'clubs' do not include these 2 age groups together..these girls are close and a little on the shy side..... i guess the ages are checked when they enter???? they just didn't want to have to be apart all the time.....
any suggestions on clubs they can do together??? thanks

For the club / lab, they have to be registered to be checked in, and since they have everyone's information, they will know their ages. I don't think the older girl can go here, but I could be wrong. The younger one definitely can. The Edge is for 11 to 14 and the kids can check themselves in and out. I have heard (although I have not tried this myself) that sometimes they will let the younger ones come here, if the ship isn't too full, and the child seems mature enough. It never hurts to ask, at either one, to see if they can stay together. Since it seems our sailing must not be that full, they may be able to go to either one together, it will probably be up to the CM's working. Good luck!

How can one find out how full the ship is?

there is a website, I can't remember though :lmao: I think Mrs Smiddy knows. However, if you look at the DCL site, you can see what is still available. Funny thing is, it looks like there are categories available today that weren't available last week. Last week it looked like it was getting full, but now there are 16 categories available! Wow!

I know...while I didn't look at every category, I did check a few. The category that I'm in, 4D, was only in GTY status early last week, but now there are rooms available. They must have moved people around to assign GTY rooms? I know that I'm still in the same room.

thanks, mrssmiddy,,,,,all we can do is ask..... and who knows, by the time we get onboard they might not even want to be together.....

Ok, this is the site I know about, however it is no longer showing the same stats that I found earlier. http://www.cruisefish.net/finder.md?id_cruise=18800 It does show what categories are booked, and what is still available, but it used to show a percentage of how many categories were booked up. Of course you can still do your own calculations... This does not show how full the ship is, only how many categories are no longer available. This sailing sure does seem to have a lot of fluctuation....

thanks,,,,,,,, they have to commit to one 'club' and that's the only one
they can go into??
:confused3

I think this is the "rule", yes...they have to pick one. I have heard (read), here on the DISboard, that sometimes, although probably not all the time, some kids are allowed to go back and forth between clubs. I'm not sure if that has been due to the number of people on board, the specific CM's working, or some other factor...but in my opinion, it never hurts to ask. The worst that can happen, is they say "no" and make the girls pick one or the other.

but once they choose which club they want, they are committed to that for the cruise

Does that apply to the Oceaneer Club and Lab or just to clubs for different age groups? I guess what I am asking is does my 10 year old DS need to choose one or the other or can he go to both?

I believe it's any of the clubs. My son was on the cusp between Edge and Vibe and told he had to choose which and then could only go to that one. (That was 2 years ago though)

The club and lab are joined, so he can go between them.
