October 11, 2014 7-Night Southern Caribbean Cruise on Disney Magic (San Juan)

If the Disney ship is docking in the same dock as the other ships I stayed at the Sheraton old San Juan and walked across the street to the ship.

The ship is not docking in Old San Juan (as in previous years), it is docking at the Pan American Pier.

I have a question....I am booked thru DCL to stay at caribe Hilton with transfers...so I would have to go to port, check in, lunch, put luggage in cabin and then take a cab to old San Juan OR should I book a room at the Sheraton old San Juan leave luggage with bell services sightsee on Saturday morning and then take a cab to the port for checking? I have never been to San Juan and have no idea which to do...thanks

Anyone? I know the ship is docking at pan am terminal but I'm really interested in which you would choose

I personally would stay in OSJ and do all my sightseeing before heading for the ship. Less back and forth and therefore more time to wander around OSJ. It would also save you one way cab fare from the port to OSJ (it's probably not much but it's another thing to consider). The city is beautiful and you will enjoy your time there! We were there for a day when the Fantasy stopped there in March 2013 and enjoyed it so much we're flying in on Thursday this trip to give us some extra sightseeing time.

Thank you so much....I cannot wait to see Puerto Rico

Hi there, I'm more of a lurker and don't post much :) however, I've wasted over an hour getting distracted and not finding what I'm looking for. Can someone either tell me which night is the Halloween party, and direct me to the post I'm sure I saw a couple weeks ago about the daily dining theme itinerary (i.e. golden mickey's, prince/princess, Captain's, etc). Many thanks!

Can someone please tell me how to sign up for the fish extender program. My son (6) and myself will be traveling. We are in category 7A but I don't have a room number yet. It is his birthday cruise and I want to do everything I can to make it extra special for him. Thank you

Any secrets to making the cruise extra special for my birthday boy? He will turn 7 on the cruise

Any praents traveling alone. I am pretty sure my kid with ditch me for the play center and was hoping to find soem people to meet and talk with.

We won't know for sure until someone posts the Navigators from this week's first Southern cruise, but I believe the current thinking is that the Halloween parties will be on the Grenada day. Pirate night is definitely on St. Lucia day. I don't think I've seen the daily dining themes.

Sorry, the FE exchange lists were closed a couple weeks ago. You could still leave your son little gifts yourself to surprise him :) Make sure you get him a birthday button from Guest Services (CMs will wish him happy birthday all day long) and don't forget to tell your servers that it's his birthday. They'll sing to him and bring him a special dessert. He'll have a fabulous birthday!

Thank you for lettingme know about the FE being closed. I just learned about it and thought how cool it would be. :(

I had a nice conversation with some DCL insiders today and here is what I found out about our cruise -

Sat 10/11 - 7:30p - Halloween stories in the Lobby
Sun 10/12 - Formal Night
Mon 10/13 - Cruise Casual
Tues 10/14 - Pirate Night
Wed 10/15 - Halloween Party/ Trick o Treat
Thurs 10/16 - Captain Gala (Semi-Formal)
Fri 10/17 - 7:30p Halloween stories in the Lobby

Now i think those 2 dates in the lobby are associated with the "trees" that DCL has added to the fleet.

If you are stranded without a FE list (like me), and want to do a make shift one, I'm happy to try and get 5-10 families together for one. Don't really know what I'm doing, but we can at least get the kiddos to have some fun with little FE exchanges. We have an 8 yr old daughter and this is our first DCL so we're getting to the hang of things too.

Just PM me with your name, age of child and room no. and we can see what may come of it.

We have someone on the first southern that will send their Navigators to Scott at the DCL Blog. Of note, keep in mind the first southern is not a Halloween on the High Seas cruise. We do have a TA friend on the 2nd southern which is tho.

Thanks, I didn't realize the Halloween activities were starting later on the Magic. So happy to hear we get to see all those Navigators - I will be stalking the blog!

I know I wanted to do the FE with my son (it will be his birthday cruise) but I couldn't figure it out either :( Missed the list as well
