October 11, 2012 Disney Dream 3 Night

I am going to start sewing for my kiddos - I got some great ideas when I went in May.

Is transportation free from the cruise to a Disney resort? Do I book that on my cruise reservation or my room reservation? Where are y'all staying after the cruise?

You have to pay for any of the cruise transfers from/to the port. But after you are at the resort, the Magical express to the airport is free. We're getting in the night before the cruise and staying at the airport hotel, so we will be on the bus bright and early that morning, :cool1::thumbsup2

We're also going to be staying at WDW after the cruise for a week. We will be at the Contemporary<Bay Lake Towers> and then switch over to Animal Kingdom lodge for a few days.

My favorite cruise tip is to get the rainforest room pass. I loved the rainforest room and spent alot of time in the hot tub on the balcony. It was better than the couple choice in the spa villa and cost a lot less!

We loved the spa pass on the smaller ships, but they don't have the hot tub setups, so we're really excited about this feature on the new ships! The hot tubs are always so busy and full out on the common areas.

GOOD TIP!

We are staying at the airport hotel the night before the cruise too! Have you done this before? Did the kids enjoy it? We are gonna just spend one night at the Art of Animation after the cruise. Going to the MNSSHP Sunday night and leaving for home the next morning. Gotta get my 2nd grader back to school!

We've never stayed in the airport the night before, but we couldn't get any flights early enough the day of the cruise, :sad2:

We've never done a cruise and then a WDW run either, last year we did a WDW then cruise trip though.

We will be on there too :) our first ever cruise, and it's a surprise for hubby's 30th birthday :)

Oh and I'm Jason, the wife is Robyn, and (at time of sailing) my son is Matt(5) and daughter is Ying(5). We will be in room 5156, unless we upgrade at the port, :thumbsup2

We've never been on this particular cruise, so we've never been to Nassau, but we can't wait to go back to Castaway Cay.

I am a Robyn too :) we don't really get Robyn's here in the UK, I have never met another Robyn over here :)

Oh and my hubby is Simon.

We will give the FE thing a miss as we have never cruised before and want to try and fit in as much as we can, we will be taking a few pressies with us though so we can pop in the odd thing as a bonus, and to make someone's day :) xxx

Welcome Robyn - excited to see you here! That is very sweet of you to bring presents along!

Welcome Robyn and Simon. You are coming all the way from the UK?! Please tell me y'all are going to do something else here in the States besides a 3 day cruise? If we could stop going on Disney cruises - then we would get overseas. Truth be told, going to Europe kind of intimidates me. One day.....

Oh yes! 1 week in the beach club, 3 night cruise, 2 nights onsite somewhere then 12 nights in a villa with all of our family joining us there. :)

I do know what you mean about Europe, it scares me sometimes too, it's mainly the language barrier! I know a little French, enough to get by, so there is fine but Spain and Italy they don't really speak any English and I can't speak those languages either :(

Ah, welcome to the group! Robyn is an odd variation, even in the US we don't know many ourselves. Even odder is her real name, Jamaica, :rotfl2: No good story with that either, just a hippie mom I suppose, :confused3

If you guys havent stayed at Beach club before you will love it! That is our home resort for DVC, and we have stayed there many times, its especially wonderful during Food and Wine fest since you can walk to Epcot(major selling point for us). We're going to miss it this year, but we opt'd to try out the Contemporary this year, as the kids absolutely LOVE the monorail portion of it, :lovestruc

That sounds so fun! I love that you are breaking it up with a little cruise in the middle.

Getting so close!!! My kids have an iPhone app that tell them how many days are left. I got to do the '90-day' stuff yesterday, but realized I didn't want any Palo/Remy reservations, or anything else. New boat and only 3 days, I think I'll have plenty to do, :rotfl:

Outside of packing I think all my flight/hotel/transport stuff is done and paid for, :thumbsup2

Now I just want to lose about 10 more lbs in preparation for the boat and then Food and Wine Festival. F&W festival always kills me, so much stuff to eat and drink.

Well, as much as I love the sunny weather down there in Florida - we are leaving this cruise. We were able to book a 7 night cruise on the Wonder in LA for this week for a sizable decrease in funds from this 3 day cruise. So were are headed to the west coast and DL to check out Carsland. Y'all have fun!

Sweetiee,
Welcome to the group! So excited to have another family! Are you guys interested in doing a fish extender exchange? Just curious, what is CCAI?

Please explain the fish extender!
And I see the CCAI question was answered!

When talking with our agent tonight we were told it was $70 a person for the bus from WDW to the boat. We were kind of wanting to do the bus but we will drive instead.

That was ours from a few years ago, the thing hanging on the fish on the left. Its got a buncha pockets on it, and if you do the FE game, everyone gets a little list of people to deliver little trinkets to. Ours kids love it, we get to explore the ship, and then they get little surprises when we get back to the room.
