Erika,

Do you guys want to sneek into our luggage and come with us to SSR?? I do not think DH will notice if the luggage is a bit heavier..:confused3 :rotfl2:

I think it would be more than a little bit heavier LOL. You guys are so sweet, now if you can just figure out how to smuggle me out on a flight a couple days earlier so my family doesn't notice.

I am sure we can all link ourselves somehow just not sure send me a pm or an email and I will start compling a list and I sent Carol an email asking her how we can do this since some of us are booked with different agencies etc. Which I know in the past it was not a big deal. So I will start a list and let you know when I find out something. Thanks,

Hello everyone. I know that I signed on and then haven't been around much. Things seemed to have gotten a little hectic all of a sudden, but they have calmed down again. I think!!!!!

Anyway, I know that this is the cruise board, but my DD and I are going to DL in June. It will be our first trip to California. We are going to do two weeks in So. Cal and do DL, San Diego Zoo, Seaworld, Balboa Park and Univeral Hollywood. I just received a quote from the magicforless for the DL portion of the trip alone. They were suppose to give a quote on the entire trip but my request must not have specified that.

My questions are: 1.) has anyone on here been to DL or live in that area? 2.) does anyone have any advice on must dos or money saving tips? 3.) Does anyone know when the Grad Nights are for DL in 2008?

We are so excited! We are getting a double dose of Disney in 2008 with the DL trip and the cruise.

I live in So Cal. You will have a great time! I actually live pretty close to Universal Studios. I'm not to sure about the grad nights. I can try to find out for you. You are pretty much doing great stuff. I'll have to think about what else you can do. If you have any any other questions, I will be happy to help in any way I can.

Hello! This is great. We will be flying into LA on June 1st and flying out on June 14th. So far we know that we are going straight from the airport to DL and staying there until the 5th. This is to cut the time for the need of a rental car down. What I am planning is to move on to the San Diego area on the 5th and stay there until about the 11th or 12th and then move up to the LA area and stay there until we fly out on the 14th. Any suggestions would be great. We have never been to California and are so excited about the trip. If you can find out when Grad Nights are, that would be great. According to what I've read, DL is very crowded on those days and with so many high school kids in the parks, it's a different atmosphere. Is that true?

We go every year with 3 other famlies for the opening of the festival of lights, which ironically sponsered by Disney. We stay right on Clifton Hill with pool side rooms. All the adults sit around the pool tables with cocktails and watch the kids play in the pool. Great get away for a weekend and only hour and a bit drive. I usually have relatives come over from Scotland ever 2 years or so and Niagara Falls is a must for them. And you can't go to Niagara with out going on the maid of the mist. So I know exactly what your talking about. Hopefully we get no mist like that on the Magic.

The Maid of the Mist is good fun. We enjoy seeing the Festival of Lights as well. Last year it was so busy though. We went on a weekend though, this year we will have to go through the week to avoid the crowds. I have always enjoyed going to Niagara Falls. Have you been to the Great Wolf Lodge? I have heard good things but still haven't made it there. (I'd rather be at WDW) LOL.

I think it would be fun to all sit near each other. I am sure by the time we sail, we will all know eachother well.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Gina

Hi there Gina,

Niagara weekend packages are a great deal. We stayed at the Quality on Clifton Hill with a pool side room. The package was $220 incl. tax. Included $30 at Boston Pizza, $10 @ Tim Horton's, 2 passes for the ferris wheel ($20), tokens for arcade game area. Kids loved it.
We have done the Great Wolf and it is out of this world. Expensive, but our kids will love it. That is a place you want to hit mid week. The lines for the water slides can be quite something on a weekend. Michelle is a girl guide leader and took her group there last year. She was actually one of the leaders in your nec of the woods when we lived in Ajax.
Were (us and the 2 other families) planning to fly out of Toronto on the friday morning before the cruise. Land about noon, rent cars and head to the Magic Kingdom for MNSSHP (a must, we did it this past sept). It would be fun if we were all on the same flights. As we get closer I will keep you up to date with our travel info out of Toronto. (I think you were considering flying from Buffalo).
If we didn't have friends flying down with us and staying at MCO Hyatt, I would seriously consider booking into Saratoga Springs with Kritter and the others. I just had to bank a bunch of DVC points since Michelle is due in January and we can't travel probably until June (earliest).

Here's looking forward to next October all parents sitting around the pool together relaxing with cocktails watching the kids have a blast.

So here's what I found out so far....grad nights for DL are June 5,11,12,19.
Ther are a few dates in MAy also, they are May 15,22,29. I'm waiting on info for Universal. I will let you know about those dates as soon as I get them. You should be ok with the plans you have. You're going to have a great time!

Also, the Magic will be here at that time, so you might be able to sneak a peek at it while you're here.

DH Alex

Hi Alex,

My dh (Alec) works shift work so we try to do everything midweek. Thankfully we can. Makes life easier. My dd is a 2nd year Spark, she loves it. It looks like I will be volunteering next year with Brownies, they are in need of leaders. We have not committed yet to where we are flying out of. What ever is the cheapest. We are most likely doing the same as you. Flying out on the Friday and doing the MNSSHP, if there is one on the Friday (fingers crossed). We may add a couple days on either end. The kids have the Friday and Monday off, so we just have to decide how may days they will miss. I cannot wait for the cocktails by the pool, and meeting you all. It will definately be a blast. Maybe we will see you at the party or even on the plane. Congrats to you and Michelle, I hope she is feeling well. That is very exciting news. We just rented out some of our points as we aren't using them anytime soon. We are going for March break but we are going to get a villa this time. Maybe we will all sit near eachother for meals, do you have early dining?

It was great here too, I love it!!! :goodvibes

It was quite nice here as well...Now, all we need is the leaves in the yard to dry up and blow awaaaay! Although, the kids are waiting for DH to bring out the leaf blower and make leaf piles for jumping! :jumping1:

Good Evening everyone,

Carol did email me about getting anyone booked with her and getting us all near each other in the dining room. If you want to do that and are booked with her could you let me know and I will let her know. IF you have been told you are waitlisted for early dining I did email her and am waiting word that about if you link with us does that make you set for earling dining. Anyone want us to request a specific rotation? Please PM me or email me if you want to be link to sit near one another not at the same table since I know some of us have already requested to sit with friends, family , etc. If you are not booked with Carol but with another agency or DCL directly I will have to provide you with one of our ressie numbers or last names according to Carol so that you can request to be seated near our group in the dining room. SO please let me know and I will begin compling a list of interested families. I will try and post who I have interested in linking dining here on the boards and on the website as well.

Thanks,

Kristin

We are an early sitting as well. Were thinking of tryng out the nursery a few times at dinner and show time.
My DW (Michelle) works for Toronto Police and used to be on shifts as well. Great for mid week travel. Tough on scheduling. She has been on straight days now for about 5 years (which is great).
Remember when comparing your flight prices. If you book through Disney it includes your transfers to and from port to airport. (that can be expensive to book individually).
At this point I think Michelle will stay at the Hyatt with the baby and relax upon arrival and I take the DD and gang to MNSSHP.
Being new to DVC (so new we haven't even used it yet). When you rent them out, do you do that through and agency or to friends. Were really looking forward to using up points next year. With Michelle's mat leave, we plan to travel as much as we can.

Alex
