Good Morning Parrotheads!!

well, we slept in this morning! WAY LATE! Church starts at 11, I woke up at 955!! I have not slept that long in a forever!! There was no way we would have made it to church on time. I can't believe the dogs didn't even get us up! It's been raining all morning, so maybe with it being just a bit darker, they just "thought' it wasn't time? Either way, I'll take it!

We had thought about cleanlng out a flowerbed at the front of the yard, against the street. It's surrounds a couple of utility boxes. In our side of the bed, there is an evergreen bush and a holly bush. Then under, around and growing through it, is some sort of ground cover, that is just out of control. We have cut it back, even tried to cover it with that black paper, but it finds the tiniest hole and climbs out. SO, our idea is to just tear it all out, even the bushes, and spray on ground clear, then put more black paper...in both directions, and add mulch. Then leave it for maybe 2 years and then redo the bed. When we redo it, we'll probably just add a bush or 2 and leave it at that. None of that wild ground cover!!

However, Steve is a little sore from standing for 2 days and it's still drizzleing.....it would make the soil soft enough to just pull out stuff though!

HAVE A GOOD SUNDAY!!!

Michele,

How nice to sleep in!!!!!!! Sounds, like you all needed it!!!!!!!

The flower bed sounds like a big job. But I bet it will look really nice once it is all done. Maybe, you should just rest today!!!!!!!!!!

Afternoon kiddies

Hope everybody's having a great weekend. We spent yesterday running around diong the Chesapeake Jubilee(a bust) and then going around to Lowes/Home Depot picking out Roses and shrubs for our front yard. Rich planted them last night b4 supper, they look nice. Still need to pick up some more borders since we changed our minds alittle on the overall look.

Hopeing to get out and go someplace today but there's a friend of Rich's here right now and he got here right after we got back from Church/breakfast. Called us from the driveway:rolleyes:

Well, this day is nearly a bust for us! After getting up so late, we are just slow to get moving! Steve just left for the Home Depot, and Connor and I are getting ready to get started on the flowerbed. I should take photos. What a mess. It's been our achillies heel since we moved in nearly 9 years ago! I'll be thankful to be DONE with it!

Maybe I can talk Steve into taking us to Bob Evans for dinner! See you after a few hours! LOL

Denis and I made some of Allen's chili today and it smell sooooo good!!!!! we're about to dig into it, so I'll be back in a bit:thumbsup2

Well my day was a bust.

After Richa's friend left I said lets go to a Rose show at a mall, well i have no idea where anything is, but i told him the mall and he thought he knew but got off the highway too early, we never found the place and came home. which is where i should have stayed in the first place.

Anyhow, I'm now searching for hotels for b4 the trip. Maybe I'll annoy myself some more and try hotwire and see if i can't wind up with a nice package for CI&S that way. Already in a lousy mood anyhow.

Hi everyone,
Wow, another new chapter!
It's 102 here today, too hot to do much. So other than watering the yard this morning, I'm staying in with the ac on. Need to get started planning a Memorial Day birthday bbq for DD's 24th. I'm in charge of food and location. It'll be at our house so I'll need to get the house and yard ready for guests too, which I enjoy. Too hot to work outside today and I did a big inside cleaning yesterday, which was also too hot for working outside. I just hope it cools down in time for the party.
Hope you all had a great weekend, Mary

102. WOW

Better you than me. I don't want to see 3digit temps anytime soon here. We're pretty much going low 80s or high 70s here lately. I was going to water the plants outside but it looks like its going to rain any minute, so I'll just let that go.

oh that's too bad you didn't find the store!!!!!
goodluck finding a room on Hotwire, it's a little tricky because you never know what hotel you'll get until you actually book it. But there are some tricks you can use that I learnt from the DIS.

wow that's hot!!!! I'm looking forward to getting SOME heat here soon LOL
enjoy you party planning:thumbsup2 I know I LOVE to plan birthday parties for our boys!!!!!!

You know what. I am not in a great mood(hormones) and I've had enough aggravation today. I posted a thread on the Budget Board asking about Hotwire and hit a couple of helpful forums. They were helpful enough that I am abandoning the idea and booking rackrate. I'd rather know what I'm getting upfront, with a refundable rate or advance cancellation that benefits me.

So all I have to od now is pick a card and book a room. And wait for it to rain.

Hey everyone, hows it goin'? Rain here for most of the day, looks like the sun is peeking out now though. Spent most of the day preparing cakes, one for a course and one for my sons school. Hope all is well out there in Pirate land!!!pirate:
