October 11-18, 2008 Disney Magic Parrothead Pirates in Paradise Chapter 8!

At last year's DVC Member Cruise, they did a group photo on the beach. I missed it, because I had planned parasailing at that time.

On pirate night, we arranged to have a photographer take a group photo of the DISers. We all gathered in the lobby and he shot down at us from the deck 4 railing.

The best meet we had though was I think the last night (the member cruises are 4-day cruises). We had a couple who got married at WDW right after the cruise so we basically had a huge "counseling" session with the soon-to-be newlyweds. Even CD Christian stopped by and took part. It was a blast. There were also bachelor and bachellorette parties. Now that I think of it, we got a lot accomlpished in just four days.

WOW!! Maybe we need to enlist you as our activities coordinator! LOL I like the idea of a pirate night group photo too...and one on the beach at Castaway Cay. hmmm....might have to think about this. I hate to do too many....don't want to have to buy 2 photo packages...one for family and one for Dis Family photos. But then again, I like these ideas!!!

CRUISE QUESTION​

For St Thomas and St Maarten, do we dock or tender? If we do tender, any advice? I have never tendered before. Allow extra time when departing/arriving? Is the boat really shaky? Is it hard to get in and out of the tender? Any other advice is appreciated!

On our last cruise we met in in the lounge as well as met while we were waiting to board too. It was FUN!!!!!!! Last time my father took the pic. for all of us and then we emailed it out. I can ask him if he would do it for us this time too...If we want him too.. Just a thought. Meeting at the sail away party if fun!!!!

Any ever done a pj. breakfast with their dis group? We also had a mickey ice cream bar eating contest too. It was FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kristin, if you want to talk to your Dad and see if he wants to do the group photo, that would be great! He just wouldn't be in it though!!! It would be cheaper too, as we wouldn't have to pay DCL for the photo. Or we could do both, then if folks want the DCL one, they can still get it. It doesn't cost any extra!

Erika, I am sure there are several people that would need to bring jammies with them for that! LOL I think it would be fun though!

The Freedom of the Seas is with us in St Marteen and Mariner of the Seas and Carnival Triumph are with us in St Thomas... So it might be a little crowded. Nearly 7,000 pass in SM and nearly 10,000 in ST...

We have been one the eastern three times and we always dock. The only time we tendered was in Grand Cayman on the western and it was not bad at
all.

I just finished a book called Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet. I have to tell you, this book is ENGULFING. I could not put it down! Matter of fact, when I got to the last page, I didn't want it to end!! I just found out that there is a sort of sequal to the book called World Without End. Pillars is set in the years of the 1100...midevil...World is set in the 1300, but the characters are suppose to be the offspring of the ones in Pillars. I just got World from my friend last night, so I am eager to get started on it! They are both HUGE books...over 900 pages each, but I am telling you, you will not be bored with it. It was Oprah's book of the month before Christmas. That's an idea too...go to oprah.com and check out the books that she recommends! If you do a search on Pillars, there is an entire synopsis of the story....I remember telling Nancy about it awhile ago...I just don't remember where I saw it? Maybe it was Amazon?? If I didn't have Pillars on loan...and with a waiting list...I would have gladly sent it to you!

Both of these are GREAT reads!! Two of our favorite. They are sitting on our bookshelf in our office.

If you like those, try The River God by Wilbur Smith. There are actually two books that follow - The Seventh Scroll and The Warlock. All are in the 500-550 page area, but well worth the read. You will not want to put them down. By far, would recommend all five of these books.

Now, I am requesting a pitty party for me!!!!! The guys got all the A/C parts hooked up, flipped back on the power, and it doesn't work!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Seems there is a Fan Board that is bad in the air handler. He is going to go to the office and see if the air handler they have there has the same Fan Board. IF, and this is a HUGE IF, if it does, he'll scarf it out of there and bring it back tonight. If not, we are S.O.L. until probably Tuesday...since they'll have to order the part on Monday. Please send as much pixie dust as you can that when he gets to the office, it's the same board. I am becoming a desperate woman!!!!!!!
