MOrning All..

Nancy,,

Just sent you an email.. I'm begging and pleading with you for help with my door signs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a question for all of you. My boys both play club soccer (bet you couldn't guess that with my screen name ;) ). Well, Drew (my 8 year old) has a great team. They are ranked first in the state right now. But with tournaments and such, this is a very expensive little hobby. So, we are trying to plan some fundraisers. Someone told me about a fundraiser called "Flocking" where you put a whole bunch of pink flamingos in people's yards late at night and ask for donations to have them removed or replaced into someone else's yard. Has anyone ever done this or heard of it? I just wonder if too many of the birds would disappear to make it a worth-while. Thanks for your input!

I have heard of this, but never had it done to me. Last I heard it used locally was as a Relay for Life(BC) fundraiser. It went exactly as you described. NO idea how many just dissapeared in the course of the night, but it seemed like a great success. I think the key is not to leave the flamingoes or whatever you choose(I've also heard of elephants being used) sit for too long. Have somebody ready to collect them as soon as the call for the ransom(or whatever you're calling the donation) comes in.

But it was a lot of fun here according to the paper. And in my hometown near Philly, many ppl volunteered their firends' lawns to be the next victim.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!! TGIF!!!!!!!

I am just sitting here waiting for the A/C guys to show up. :rolleyes1

The house is actually decently clean...since the boys were gone, I was able to catch up and keep it clean!

Steve and I have known each other for 23 years, been together for 22 years and will be married for 16 years in September. He decided after we were engaged to go back to school for Pharmacy. I was patient and waited the 5 years. Patience is a good thing!

Kristin, Prayers for your Mom today!!!! As the saying goes..."If the Lord brings us to it, He'll bring us through it" And never mind about that party at CI&S, we'll be having our own shing-ding at SSR!!

Maureen and Allen...enjoy your day off!!!!

My idea for a group meet would be on the first Sea Day...which is Sunday...about 10am, Deck 7. I can go to Shutters or Guest Services and ask if they can send a photographer to take a group photo.

It would look something like this......

This photo was taken by one of the guys that was with us on the cruise. Hence the border and text. I am sure DCL would just have the photo and maybe the border. I would just need to know what size everyone would want. I think a 6x8 is more practical, BUT with an 8x10, you would be able to see eveyone better! Of course, if you would rather do this on the stairs in the atrium, we could do that, or in the theater, in the seats of course....but that photo would be more spread out, we couldn't all squish together. Any other ideas for a location?

Michele I just LOVE this idea!!!!!!!! and being on the deck!!!!!!!!!!! I'm voting for this idea!!! I would also like an 8x10, I think 6x8 is a little small LOL

My friend actually chaired this for her sons highschool. They were even featured on the local news here. It was Great FUN and they raised a ton of money for it too!!!!!!!!!

Hey Nancy and Kristen:wave:

Door Signs?!!

Wasn't Allen making them for everybody?

Anyhow, off to get breakfast, back in a few.

PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'LL LET YOU USE THE BLENDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Off to take the kids in the pool for a bit... It is hot today. i love this weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Denise, just giving you a hard time about the pool!!! I am just jealous!!! As for the Flamigos, one of the local churches did this, but they did it differently. You would call and ask the Youth Group to put the flamigos out for some for a special occassion....birthday, anniversary, birth, etc. Then the flamigo giver would pay to have them placed. They would stay for 24 hours, then the Youth would remove them. Either way, I think it's a cute idea!!

I almost forgot!! I had a dream about Denis last night!! and No, it wasn't a nightmare! :lmao: We were both traveling (go figure). I was in my truck (love this truck!) and he flew in. We met at a restaurant, ate, then he took his bags and walked off. I watched him walk off as I drove off. Wierd, I know, but that was it!

I need a pool.....

You should hear about my dreams sometime. I never deream anything normal.

As for the pool, you can have mine. We don't even use it. It came with hte house and sit in the back yard. Don't miss it either. Rather go on a cruise.

Hey michele

Looking at pics of the Kyle Petty ride on his facebook page. Lots of ppl came out for the pitstop in Beckley. Looks like everybody had a lot of fun. NMaybe next year I'll get lucky and he'll come closer to my house
